Room was spacious, clean and modern. Bathroom was big and clean but the shower tray could have been bigger because the shower soaked the floor every time. Balcony was a decent size but the tiles were all cracked and need some replacement and repairs. There's a hairdryer in the bathroom and a kettle, safe and fridge in the bedroom.
Reception area is nice and modern, there's a little robot that will give you local information and it's fun to have a little chat with it. Reception staff are amazing, so helpful and friendly. Restaurant staff are great however there was one man who the management need to have a conversation with about personal hygiene because he smelt like a public toilet.
The pool is nice and warm, it had the winter cover over it when we were there so it held the heat in very nicely. First time using the pool we were about to enter and a staff member from the bar came flying outside shouting at us like we had just punched his grandmother or something. He was shouting "HATS HATS WHERE ARE YOUR HATS. YOU MUST HAVE HATS" and he started aggressive tapping a sign on the door about wearing swimming caps in the pool. This rule didn't seem to apply to everyone though as there were people in there without them. You can buy them from reception for 3€ each which isn't too bad, they're stretchy fabric caps and not the horrible rubber ones.
The food in the restaurant is not at all what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was very basic and just not great at all. We were half board so you can either choose to have lunch or dinner, we always went for dinner because we were out most of the day. The dinner was better than the breakfast but also it just wasn't what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. There was very little choice and what was available was just a bit bland. We stayed at the primavera park hotel last year which is also 4 star and the food was so much better.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the edge of the old town, about a 5 minute walk from the beach and about 15 minutes from "the strip".
I understand that the hotel has recently changed to the brand "Climia" and they are in a transition phase, there's still some old branding about the place, they're still doing renovations but this doesn't seem to be reflected in the price.
Overall the hotel is decent and I'm sure once the renovations are finished it will be fantastic, but I wouldn't stay there again until it's all finished.

Rooms clean .lovely entrance
Great staff in bar..
However.. this time of year... solarium closed.
Hardly any sunshine reaches the sunbeds because of all the hotels surrounding.
Rooms well looked after..
Food... plenty of it..
But I'm sorry to say..tasteless..very oily and luke warm..
Will I go back? No

We had a brilliant time at benidorm plaza. Food good. Very helpful. The singers were good at nighttime. Easy access to all the shops and catching a bus. And was spotless. Change the sheets every 3 days. And cleaned and made the bed up every morning

I booked a hotel with the breakfast + dinner option through a travel agency. There was no information about meal times anywhere, and on site it turned out that the HB option meant the possibility of using two of the three meals (i.e. breakfast in the morning 08:00-10:30 and lunch 13-15 or dinner 19:30-21:30 - it was not an option of two meals at more central hours, as is often the case with this type of meal plan).
Average rooms, instead of a duvet in the room there is a blanket wrapped in a sheet and a bedspread on top - in February it is quite cold at night.
On the plus side there is a fridge, a kettle (with a few sachets of tea, coffee and sugar) and a safe in the room. In the bathroom there is shower gel, shampoo and soap in large dispensers.
Unfortunately, the hotel food is very average and repetitive (breakfasts are identical every day, for lunch/dinner usually one fish and one meat). Drinks with meals are quite expensive.
A big advantage of this hotel is the swimming pool, which is covered in the winter months, so it was really warm in February (it creates a greenhouse effect). Important! You have to wear a swimming cap in the pool, the staff requires it (although no one checked it in the so-called low season). Another advantage of the hotel is its location, it is only a few minutes away from the beach or the largest local market, Mercadona.
The staff is very nice, most of the employees speak English very well. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day, but unfortunately the whole hotel, mainly due to the poor meals and their layout (and lack of information in this area) I rate 3/5 and I definitely would not return to this hotel again. Additionally, the hotel has very thin walls and you can hear the snoring of the tenants in the next room or watching TV loudly.

We stayed here Jan 2025.
So there is a kettle in the room but only 2 paper cups. No mugs. No tea spoons. The milk pods are not replenished as you only get 2 free on the first day and you have to go out to buy your own milk! They replenish the tea and coffee but no milk.
Staff are grumpy and don't feel the need to smile at anyone.
Entertainment was a man playing a yamaha keyboard. I’ve seen more excitement at a wake. Go to the nearby Hotel Bristol or RH Victoria who are a lot more livelier. Even the older crowd get up and dance to a range of songs with live musicians but it’s dead at the Benidorm Plaza. There were only 8 people sitting there listening to the guy bangin his keyboard.
The breakfast island is not organized at all. There is no flow at all. The toaster in nowhere near the bread. Sugar is not near the tea and coffee machines but you have to walk to the other side of the dining room for it. Salt and pepper is near the fruit stand. Bacon was sitting in a pool of oil. The food is warm but not hot. There is a microwave in a hidden spot right at the other end of the dining room easy to miss where no one sits. Its not organized at all and has no flow.
I have experienced the noisiest cleaners ever that we could not even catch up on our sleep before boarding the coach back to the airport.
The phone in our room was broken from the start so we went down and reported this to the reception who said the handyman will come up immediately. Two hours later he still didn’t come up. We eventually headed out tired of waiting. Throughout out the whole stay we continued to report this and we kept getting promises it would be repaired which never happened. Hotel’s excuse was we were always out when the handyman wanted to fix it (poor excuses)
Apart from one staff on reception, none of the staff smile. They genuinely all look miserable which is very apparent. We all have good and bad days but the constant atmosphere of the staff is as if they are being forced to work without pay is the only way I can describe it – like a sense of resentment towards the guests which I have NEVER experienced on mass anywhere before.
I’ve been to 3 star hotels with kinder committed staff.
If you want to go to the beach front from the hotel you have to go down this ramp. This could pose an issue for people who are disabled as going back to the hotel up the ramp could be difficult. The hotel is split in 2 parts. It was old and tired and really needs updating and modernisation. The reception would not give a 1 hour late checkout even though we experienced issues from the start. They wanted payment for everything as an extra. There's no way that I would believe this is a 4 star hotel. Neighbouring hotels looked very modern and luxurious with great entertainment and entrances in comparison to Benidorm Plaza.
