Had a wonderful 5 day break at this hotel with my friend. The two ladies completing the evening entertainment were so funny and engaging.
The resort is a very quiet relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of sunbeds and food options. The wind can be pretty strong however by the afternoon the sun reaches the other side of the pool and therefore not as windy. Seeing the surf on these days were beautiful.
Very generous size room with a gorgeous size balcony. We had mountain view however could still see the sea to our left and right.
Lovely 15 minute stroll to the local village which we attended on Saturday following the hotel arranging a little trip. I can't recall the staff members name that took us there but she was just fantastic throughout the holiday!
The saltwater pool and spa treatment is beautiful and perfect for a quick dip or a nice peaceful swim.
Plenty of food options throughout the day, the only recommendation I have is the food menu/signs weren't always updated. Occasionally I'd have to give certain foods a miss because I didn't know what they contained ie veggie or not. But still so many options available.
Again a lovely relaxing holiday, I'd recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful few days away. Evening entertainment consisted of bingo, quiz nights, karaoke, piano bar etc. another shout out to the two ladies facilitating all of this. They were so fab!

Rebuttal time! We have just spent a week at this hotel and we've had a fabulous time.We had a wonderful room overlooking the sea..We would leave the patio door open late into the evening to listen to the relaxing surf.
The staff are lovely, welcoming and friendly. The food is perfectly acceptable. If you can't find something to eat from all the choices available you need a reality check.
The pool is pristine ,ocean blue and warm. There are plenty of sun beds.Oh no! They're a bit weathered and worn. What do you expect?they're outside 365 days a year.
And to those naysayers who complain about the wind: Do some research before you book. Its a windsurfers paradise Duh!
El Medarno, the local town is also NOT weird. Its quaint, authentic with lovely cafes and community squares. The people are friendly and it has the best toy shop we've ever visited.
The hotel entertainment was fine. The lady who ran it had wonderful energy.Water aerobics and yoga were fun.
But oh the humanity! Having to wait at the pool bar for 2 minutes to get served.
And finally to the person who wrote saying they knew lots of people who had illness due to the food this is insidious and probably slanderous. We were there roughly at the same time and saw absolutely nothing like this.

Great hotel in a lovely location, close to the centre of a Spanish resort, which has great traditional restaurants, shops and bars. You actually don't have to leave the hotel, as there's a supermarket below and the facilities, food and entertainment are superb. The buffet is excellent for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a great choice of local and international foods. All inclusive drinks are plentiful and there is a heated outdoor pool, plus a spa (at an extra charge, but well worth a visit if the weather isn't good to sit out). Our Junior suite was very spacious and had great views of the pool and beach. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so special.

Just returned after a week staying here with the family, hotel is great, the sea views are just awesome, the staff are always kind and respectful, the food is OK for the majority of people, I am just very picky when it comes to food, all of my lot enjoyed it most nights (we were all inclusive but only had lunch once) as I say I am very funny when it comes to food, but from what were on offer I can see the majority of people liking what is there.
Location I have given 3 out of 5 stars, the reason being is where the hotel is situated, 20 min walk into the town of El Medano, which doesn't really cater for tourists much, there were not many souvenir shops (we call them tat shops) no shops selling duty free cigs/tobacco /alcohol etc (which you find in most resorts) Yes it is windy NEWSFLASH, island coastal town is windy!!! It quiet obvious that there is wind, like most places in the Canaries, but some days that wind is a welcome!! It's not as if it is a cold wind... Although one particular day I was losing my rag when the wind blew over two drinks!!! :-D As already stated, the staff were always very respectful and helpful whenever they could, I saw a review on here a few month back that said the entertainment lady was horrible to people and evil!!! I swear if it was the same lady Minerva I think her name was...? She was awesome! every night that she was on she made it a vey fun night, her Bingo nights were hilarious, Karaoke was brilliant! I have never had so much fun in a hotel before! When we were leaving she was even there in the reception to see us off and give hugs to everyone, also her partner that also did entertainment, I didn't catch her name, but she was also brilliant & fun! It was my wife's birthday during our trip and we had gone into Los Christianos for the day, upon our return a member of staff brought us a bottle of Champagne up to the room! It was a really nice gesture, many thanks to them for that.
To sum up, if you're looking for a nice relaxing holiday without all of the activity doings, then KN Arenas Del Mar is defo the place for you. If you're perhaps looking for the more livelier of places with night clubs and bars etc then maybe Los Christianos/Costa Adeje/Plays De Las Americas is the type of places you should look at. Don't get me wrong El Medano is a quite lovely little town, I am not saying don't go there because of the town, but it is more catered for locals (which also really good)

Firstly Tenerife is an island, so the occasional windy days to be expected. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the nearest town or a taxi for around seven euros. I was recommend a room on the fifth floor with a sea view as the view is really good. The swimming pool is nice and the water was warm even in December! Reception staff really friendly and helpful comma rooms were clean, I stayed bed and breakfast and I have no complaints, I noticed the evening meals which were buffet and that look really nice too. That was entertainment bars and a shop right next door. I would happily use this hotel again
