A Place to Return in Malta
PROS:
- The room was perfect with a wonderful sea view and private balcony.
- The apartment boasts a fully-equipped kitchen where you can whip up delicious meals while enjoying the stunning sea views.
- Take a refreshing dip in the light warm indoor pool or the outdoor pool nestled amidst a lush sea scenario, perfect for enjoying the mild May sunshine of 21 degrees Celsius.
CONS:
- The bathroom sounds like it's in serious need of a refresh! Here's a more vivid description of the issues:
The bathtub: Imagine running your fingers across a chalkboard - that's what the bathtub feels like with all those scratches. It's definitely not inviting for a relaxing soak.
The toilet seat: Ouch! A toilet seat that's the wrong size is not only uncomfortable, it can also be a tripping hazard.
The shower: Fiddling with a wall-mounted shower control to get the perfect temperature is like wrestling a stubborn toddler - frustrating and time-consuming.
The hairdryer: This hairdryer sounds like it has anger issues - constantly cutting out in the middle of your hairstyling routine.
On a positive note, at least the shaving/makeup mirror is a bright spot!
- Cleaning of rooms are done only after every 3 days

This resort/apartment in Qawra is a decent option, although the building itself is somewhat dated and could benefit from refurbishment. The rooms are large, but the arrangement of the furniture could be improved, and the TV was too small for the space. A positive aspect of the hotel is its location adjacent to a promenade, offering a variety of dining and leisure activities. The rooms are both clean and spacious.
The spa and swimming pool facilities are located across from the main hotel in a separate building. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were impressive, and the outdoor pool offers a stunning view of Salina Bay.
The staff were excellent, consistently greeting us and offering assistance as needed.
We were informed that the hotel is scheduled for renovation in the coming year, which should bring it up to par with its sister property across the street, which is outstanding.

Friendly staff, very accommodating. The first apartment we had was dark. The only view we had was an unsightly building, and you could just about see the sea the kitchen window opened to what looked like a dark ally way. I asked for an upgrade and this was a lot better. I would advised that you go for a sea view apartment as the land view is as I described not very nice.

If you are planning on staying with 3 or 4 people in one room I can only recommend you to NOT book at this hotel.
Our room (107) was affected by severe mold with a heavy smell inside the rooms. It seems like they just painted over mold instead of removing it altogether.
It got so bad that two of us had a sore throat as well as a headache during the stay. Furniture is worn out and in bad need for a refurbishment.
The only good thing here is the gym which is shared with another hotel of the same chain across the street.
