The hotel is about a 50 min drive from the airport. we had a private taxi transfer as part of our package so couldn't tell a price. The taxi drivers were brilliant and friendly.
The hotel grounds are lovely, and reception is stunning, kind of inside/outside vibe.
We had a room on the side of the original hotel. Spotlessly clean, nice room, big enough for two people for two weeks, plenty of space. Plenty of shampoo/conditioner and a hairdryer provided. Pool towels also provided.
Breakfast 6.30am.-10.30am, big enough area and lots of tables, etc, again inside/outside which is lovely as there are birds and mini ponds with lilies. staff again brilliant and friendly.
The food was always nice and plentiful. Yes as others have said, it's not a traditional selection, but more a mix of Asian and European.
Pools we only visited the smaller one as it was part of our building (we visited the beach most days as it's so close) there is a bar that was staffed and sunny area so the day we did spend there was nice.
Area, we walked a lot, the beach is literally over the small rd, the restaurants along the small strip just outside the back entrance were all great. We also went out to the front entrance there are also some nice restaurants and pubs along the main Rd. We never had any problems with the security they were always lovely and friendly, opened the gates when we approached, and said hi as we passed them.
Very close to everything.
Few little niggles,
The smell of the drains (throughout Phuket also) in the bathroom was quite bad, we mentioned that the sink was blocked and the lovely cleaning lady managed to unblock it and the smell got better.
The bathroom its self was clean but no window so natural light in a quite dark room made getting ready rather difficult.
Our TV went out and we mentioned it to reception and was told signal throughout the hotel had gone down and an engineer was there to fix, we had to mention it again three days later as it was still not working and it was fixed while we was at the beach.
Pool is open 10.00am, we felt that was rather late especially on our last day as we had to vacate the room at 12 (couldn't accommodate a late checkout) and we wanted one last swim before a shower and packing our bags etc.
Towels, no hand towels just bath, pool, and flannels.
Aircon, worked fine but think the filters needed either cleaning or changing as there was sometimes a pungent smell when it had been running throughout the night.
There are some flip-flops part of the room, we used them so thought they were OK to take, we were asked for them back when we got to reception which was fine but was told they reuse them (had I known this I wouldn't of used them)
All in all we would stay again if in the area, so would recommend this hotel, we feel the original part of the hotel while lovely is more a 3 star and the newer part of the hotel is more a 4 star.

My specific room was very nice and modern. I had to ask a couple times for them to come and make up my room. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. Breakfast every morning was great, a buffet with pretty much everything. They had a small gym which was great, the pool was always inviting. They don't always serve food by the pool unfortunately. The hotel is right across the street from Karon beach. The hotel location is a bit far from Phuket airport, about 45-50mins drive by taxi and will set you back 1100 - 1300 Baht. The hotel can/will organize the taxi to and from the airport. Just outside the hotel is a string of shops, laundry services, restaurants and tailors. I will most certainly be going back next year.

Beautiful hotel, rooms were great (we got 2 rooms with communal doors which is great if tou travelling with kids), breakfast average, staff pleasant, restaurants and shops very close including a food market. Rooms although great size the ac was quite noisy. We really enjoed here, kids were very please with the pool and the beach was 2 mins walking but ties were quiet strong with big waves. Staff was very respectful and helpful however on our last day one of the ladys at the reception was very rude and unprofessional. As we had 2 rooms with a communal door, on the last day we left one of the room keys inside and asked the rooms to be cleaned, when we went back the key room was gone and our rooms cleaned. So I contacted the reception twice asking for the key and been told were going to bring to the room straightaway. However after the third attemp to get the key, lady at the reception told us we lost it so we had to pay for it, she did not hear what we had to say she literally acussed us of lossing the key. I then went to the reception and asked to speak with the manager (not available) and she gave me new key however talking over me and not letting me explain the situation. Every day our room was cleaned and nothing ever went missing and although the key that day went missing all staff was very serious. Unfortunately the lady at the reception doesn't have any experience dealing with customers and because of that I'm not sure if I would return. Customer is not always right, but we customers have the right to be listen to and acknowledged not dismissed and accused before we explain the situation.

Booked 7 nights at the Old Phuket Resort and it was a great stay. Couldn't really fault it. Room was a Deluxe Pool room on the third floor over looking the pool. It was a great room that fit my wife and I, including out two kids ages 7 and 5. It's a great base for when you need to head back and rest in air con. There were many days where I had midday naps on the balcony and nights just chilling out on the balcony as well. Room was clean, well kept. Shower had good pressure. Literally can't fault it. Walk to breakfast is nice in the mornings. Breakfast was a decent selection. No bacon though lol. Had the usual pastries, bread, noodle soup, curry chicken, selection of eggs, yoghurt and variety of drinks. I'm not picky so it was more than enough for the whole family. The pool was amazing. Big and had many sections in case you wanted to isolate yourself. There were a few Russians there and some Aussies. Russians don't seem to smile much lol but it is what it is. Staff were decently friendly but not overly. If you engage with them then they're nice enough and respond in the same manner.
The building is in a decent sized complex if you come from the main road then it's a big walk in to the main reception lobby. Best to go through the other way, that's closer to the beach. You'll walk past some vendors and restaurants. Everyone is nice enough. This is a pleasant walk and will get you to the beach and some shops/restaurants.
Overall it was a really good stay. I would stay again but would also like to consider other resorts/hotels in Karon. Definitely nothing wrong with the Old Phuket. 👍😁 Only gave location 4⭐ because it was a small walk out the main strip. I saw some hotels/resorts that was on the main road so a little more convenient.
