Rooms clean and tidy. Well equipped kitchen with filtered drinking water tap. Fresh towels were delivered every 3 days. Lots of pool entertainment for the kids. Just make sure you can get down to the pool an hour before it opens to get your towel down or just arrive down around lunch time. Some people start to pack up and leave around then.
Sunset Bay is located a 9 minute walk to the beach which is fantastic. Lots of restaurants bars and shops around to choose from.

This was unfortunately our worst holiday experience. We were initially told we’d be charged €30 for two tiny marks on a wall – later waived after a lengthy discussion – which felt unfair and stressful.
Sunbed availability was a daily headache. We had to get up at 8am to secure a bed, and if we left briefly our belongings were removed, while larger groups and regular guests ignored the rules without consequence. Bar staff told us many sunbeds removed during Covid are still in storage, yet never replaced.
To make matters worse, pool staff were rude and unhelpful when we raised concerns. Between the inconsistent enforcement and hostile staff, we couldn’t relax at all.
Sadly, we cannot recommend this hotel

Stayed here for 10 days from the 3rd of July 2025 to the 13th. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Had lots of shops and supermarkets just minutes away.
The maid visited twice during our stay to change towels and bedding and moped all the floors. It also had a lovely balcony with a table and chair set and 2 sun loungers. Lots of pubs and places to eat on site and had entertainment from Thursday to Sunday. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Absolutely brilliant!!! Can not fault anything and one of the nicest self catering places we've stayed. All staff are lovely and extremely helpful.
We stayed in a one bed apartment. Rooms were large with huge balcony. Loved having sun beds on our balcony. Our teen daughter slept on pull out bed which was huge and comfortable. Great space for 4 people. Loved added bonus of full size fridge/freezer and drinking water tap.
The complex is on hill side so there are hills and steps to contend with.
Extremely close to everything you could need, beachfront 10 mins walk, loads of bars/restaurants close by.
Will definitely return

Overall not bad but the bad points overshadow the good points unfortunately.
We arrived at reception at 21:45 to a small queue of people waiting to be booked in. It took over an hour to book in approximately 4 groups of guests before us. It sounded like they've changed to a new system, presumably a slower system or one the staff are unfamiliar with as it felt like the staffs first day on the job. Before being given our room, I spotted a sign warning of improvements in Block H and were then told our room would be in Block H so I was apprehensive about this. We were informed that just before we arrived there were two staff on the desk but one had gone somewhere.
We finally got our room key and got to the room around 23:00. Almost immediately we found a big cockroach climbing up the wall, after removing this one, we found a dead one on the worktop by the coffee machine, one dead under the sofabed as we configured it into bed format and one dead outside on the balcony when we were just checking everything out. So immediate impressions were dreadful, a long delay checking in, put into a block undergoing improvements and 4 cockroaches upon entry.
Thest rest of the holiday was better, we ended up with 4 more cockroaches throughout the week we stayed, we wondered if the building works has caused them to vacate others which led to ours. On one particular day we arrived back from a waterpark to the front of our apartment blocked by a construction vehicle. The builders asked us to squeeze through a small gap to reach our place, we then felt trapped inside for about an hour, we then opted to leave again for other activities and had to wait a few minutes while they moved the vehicle to allow us out again. I took a photo of this blockade for my records just in case.
Other than these issues, the apartment was in a great location, the luggage room was useful as well as reception toilets and changing rooms. The reception was also nice and cool. The on sight amenities are great, most specifically during our stay was both pools, The Sun Inn and McGuires Beef Roast was the absolute best. There is also little shop on sight and a bigger one just outside. I do however think I would try staying elsewhere next time after the ordeal we had here. A bad first impression which stuck with us throughout our stay unfortunately.
Edit: a final note would be sunbeds, seems to be a global problem really but there would easily be a dozen sunbeds not in use with towels on them, reserved for people who aren't even around. The resort should, in my opinion, wait 10 minutes before moving the stuff to a store room to free up beds and we went off peak so I imagine peak would be bedlam.
