Rooms were ok, not the greatest as the door to the balcony was the hardest ever to shut and felt like I was doing a daily work out, no sink or bath plugs at all (why lol??)
Front desk is rude and doesn’t like ordering you a taxi even though it takes less than a minute to do so. But most of them speak multiple languages which is nice
Front desk again says it’s a 15 minute walk to the town strip, it’s more like a 40 minute. There is nothing else to do around here and you have to book a taxi to get somewhere every time.

Mohamed and Adrian are the best Waiters Mohamed speaks many languages very well and He is very friendly to guests. Was very nice to meet him.
The food was always fresh and diverse.
We recommend the stay in this Hotel, but it would be good if the rooms were cleaned every day

Stayed 5 nights with my daughter for passing her gcses. We love lanzarote and couldn't wait to get there. The room had a stunning view but to get on the balcony you had to be a bodybuilder to open and shut the door. I then noticed next day in the bathroom there are no plugs for the bath or sink so on asking reception who are incredibly rude that they don't supply them 😑 😒. The winds were very high as can be in lanzarote but at night you can hear the whistling through the windows all night. The entertainment was shocking and mainly spoke Spanish and German all the time. Now let's start on food awful choice and flies around and on our last but one night I came back to my table and my daughter had trapped a small cockroach under my glass. The location is bad and the non helpful receptionist told me it was a 15 minute walk to playa blanca?? Turns out it was 55 minutes. When asking to book a taxi at reception they huff and puff so booked it myself (the good thing about taxis is they are good and very cheap) the WiFi is absolutely shocking so lucky I had good data. 30 quid for hiring a safe and 1 tiny bin in the batroom so nowhere to put rubbish. Please read this lanzarote I will always come back to but do not come to this hotel especially for what they charge. 3 star rating they are just pushing a 2 star.

Lovely hotel, very good selection of food. Great staff always friendly and helpful. Good entertainment for young and older, only slight issue was the lack of sandy beach close by, mostly rocky. But thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend.

I stayed at SBH Royal Monica for two weeks and overall had a very enjoyable and peaceful experience. The location is fantastic—right by the ocean with direct access to a rocky beach and stunning views of the sea and nearby islands. I even spotted dolphins and other marine life, which added a special touch to my stay.
The pool area is well-maintained and inviting, perfect for relaxing during sunny hours. The resort has a calm and laid-back atmosphere that suited me perfectly.
The dining options are varied with generous buffets available for all meals. There’s also a casual pool bar that serves lighter fare during the day. The food quality was consistent, and I appreciated the range of choices throughout my stay.
The staff were friendly, multilingual, and welcoming. Even though the hotel primarily hosted French and German guests, I felt comfortable as a solo English-speaking traveler. The team was patient and accommodating, which made communicating easy and pleasant.
My room was clean, simple, and functional—offering everything I needed for a comfortable stay. While the resort isn’t luxury-level, it provides great value, especially for a longer visit like mine.
Overall, SBH Royal Monica is a great option if you want a relaxed and peaceful holiday in Lanzarote. Not everything was perfect, but I had a good time and would consider returning.
Edit: With all that being said, there was one particular employee who was unprofessional and rude. He was a fairly young man with curly hair. He had a sneery and passive-aggressive attitude. Because of him I am detracting one star from service, which was otherwise fine.
The best barman was also Adrian.
