My Experience at marabout Hotel Sousse
Our trip was on August 21, 2025 — me, my husband, and my daughter of 3 years. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, the security guard at the entrance told us not to disturb the receptionist, to just sit somewhere and wait until check-in time, and then speak to her. We already know hotel rules and that check-in is at 2:00 PM, but the way he spoke to us was extremely unpleasant. We overlooked it and went to the reception around 11:00 AM.
There, we met a woman named Claudia, who was very rude to my daughter. My daughter was sick and crying — we tried everything, but we couldn’t calm her down. Claudia glared at us and went to get their manager (I think), an older man in his fifties with white hair, who started shouting at us in front of everyone, saying: “Silence her now, she’s disturbing us! Why should we have to listen to your child’s annoying crying?”
This really hurt me. I went up to our room and cried because of the humiliating way we were treated by the hotel staff. At this hotel, you truly feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. The employees are a disaster — they only treat you well if you give them money, to the point that they openly ask for it.
For example, the cleaning lady cleaned our room very well on the first day and even asked me if I liked it. I told her, “It’s wonderful, thank you for your great work.” She immediately said, “Then give me a tip.” Since I didn’t give her any, the following days she only did very superficial cleaning.
About the room: at first, they gave us a terrible one — no fridge, and right in front of the animation area, which made it impossible to rest since my family and I like to sleep early. On top of that, the Wi-Fi is not available in all rooms. When my husband went to ask for a room change, they refused at first, and only after some back-and-forth did they give us another one — but even there, no Wi-Fi.
The restaurant staff were among the worst I’ve ever seen — no respect at all for guests. Honestly, the only good part of this hotel was the two girls working at the Kids Club; they were extremely polite and respectful.
Overall, the hotel could have been acceptable, but the employees ruined everything with their rudeness and excessive arrogance. If they ever change the staff and hire kinder, more professional people, I believe the hotel could actually compete with luxury hotels in the future.
Finally, I want to say a word directly to Claudia:
“I will never forgive you as long as I live.”

The hotel is old. The rooms are cleaned at 3 points. The dishes in the dining room are broken. (When I asked to bring me a fork and spoon, they simply wiped them with a napkin and gave them to me. Whoever will be relaxing there, take a look and observe. Everything is greasy and dirty everywhere.. With a dirty rag from the table and the floor😆😆😆. The hotel is a maximum of 3 stars. ///A weak hotel....Peace to everyone in the hotel!!

We had a pass day for the Acqua Park, we enjoyed the Water Slides, the restaurant prices though was a little bit expensive for a 3 stars hotel ( Pizza thon 26dt ), imagine a family of 4 or 5 it will cost them equal to 1 night stay at the hotel !! Otherwise the pools were clean and great animation too.
