Pleasantly surprised. This place isn't the RITZ, but everything works, everything is clean, the location is perfect, and there's a real friendly community around Kathy's bar staff. We were greeted by a lady named Maureen who showed us where to find the key (we were late checking in so they leave it with your name outside reception). Kathy's bar makes the resort, and the staff are super friendly and great with kids. The Lidl is less than 5 mins walk and it's a 15 mins walk downhill to the main strip and old town. There are 3 or 4 bars outside the resort that sell nice food and drinks at a reasonable price. We're likely going to go back.

Arrived now knowing where we were going as accommodation been changed 1 week before Nice clean apartment. Nice bedding. Good kitchen. Decent WiFi. Lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Not noisy. Gardens and pool area Kept well. Few bars and eateries just round the corner and Lidl and Spar just across the road. Bus stops outside. Only downside for me was the big hills to negotiate but walked down and taxi back for 3 euros.

I've been to the island more times than I can remember and this was the first time I had stayed here. On my arrival I was greeted by such a friendly lady on reception who explained everything very clearly and made the check in and out process very simple/smooth. Many thanks to her.
The room I had was a good size for both of us who were only really there for the shower and sleeping as we went out the entire time. The times we spent at the complex we used Kathy's bar, this was perfect for tasty food throughout the day and drink when required. Thanks to all her team.
The only thing I would say is there is a bit of noise from doors slamming in neighbouring apartments, this is not a dig at this place, it's the same all over the island and a little bit of foam around the door frames would help this. It's not a major problem and certainly will not stop me from looking to stay here again in the future. Good location in-between old town and the beach.

We stayed at Luz Y Mar in May 2023.
Some may say the apartments are little tired and slightly outdated but they were exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. The housekeeper visited twice in the week we were there and changed the beds, replaced towels and cleaned. We stayed in Number 17 which is on the first floor and had a lovely spacious south facing balcony, in fact all the balconies seemed to have sun for most of the day.
The pool area was very clean and well looked after. Kathy's bar is great, very friendly staff and has very reasonably priced snacks, meals and drinks. If you have a ground floor apartment they were very happy to bring your meals and drinks to you so you could eat them on your terrace.
It is about a ten minute walk to the centre of town and the beaches.
The bus stop is almost outside the premises so you can catch the 161 bus to and from the airport for a couple of euros if you want to save the 18 euros a taxi costs.
The property is very secure with good locks on doors. There are a few supermarkets including a Spar and a Lidl a few minutes away if you want to embrace the self catering facilities. Plent of nice restaurants and bars very near if you don't.
The area is very quiet with no loud traffic or rowdy revellers. Although a bit more life if required is only a ten minute walk away.
All in all very pleased and had a lovely holiday, will undoubtably return.

Amazing stay made only better by Kathy, Maureen, Chloe and Emma (and husband). Would definitely go again rooms are very spacious, clean and most have a pool view. Food was delicious and great value for money. 5 minute walk to Lidl and the spar and 15 minutes (left on roundabout) to the front.
