Title: Unforgettable Stay at Knossos Royal - A True Gem in Crete!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Knossos Royal, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The property itself is stunning, with beautifully landscaped gardens, multiple pools, and a private beach with crystal-clear waters that make for the perfect escape.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped, offering a fantastic mix of traditional Greek charm with modern comforts. My room had a lovely view of the sea, and it was a joy to wake up to such beautiful scenery each morning.
The staff deserves special recognition. They were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive to every detail, going out of their way to make my stay comfortable. From the front desk to the restaurant servers, everyone was genuinely warm and helpful.
The dining experience was excellent. The breakfast buffet was extensive and fresh, with a great selection of local and international dishes. The themed dinners offered nightly kept each meal exciting and allowed me to sample a variety of Cretan flavors and Mediterranean favorites.
There are plenty of activities and amenities to keep you entertained – water sports, tennis courts, and even an animation team that hosts fun events throughout the day. Whether you’re looking to relax or stay active, there’s something for everyone.
Overall, Knossos Royal provides a perfect balance of luxury, relaxation, and authentic Greek hospitality. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Crete – it’s an experience you won’t forget!

Our stay was underwhelming and did not reflect a true 5-star experience. Located directly in the airport’s flight path, the hotel suffered from constant airplane noise. Upon arrival, we had to wait for a noisy, gas-powered golf cart just to reach our outdated, run-down room.
Dining was one of the biggest disappointments. Breakfast ends already at 10 AM, and the service was chaotic, resulting in waiting for cutlery and tables left with dirty dishes. The food variety was minimal and repetitive, with the same fruit, salads, and cheeses at both breakfast and dinner. Quality was inconsistent: croissants were hard, toast was dry, rice was undercooked, calamari overcooked and potatoes were swimming in oil. Vegan and lactose-free options weren’t labeled, and plant-based milk had to be requested as it wasn’t available at the buffet. To top it off, water was priced at 3€ per bottle at dinner.
We also encountered cleanliness issues during our stay. Our room had ants crawling into the wardrobe, and the bathroom was dirty with a broken toilet flush. After moving to a new room, we still found a smelly couch and semi-clogged drains.
The beach was unusable on several days due to large waves, and the beach bar was closed in the evenings. Private pools were more of an annoyance than a luxury.
Staff interactions varied widely. Some employees tried to be friendly, seemingly in hopes of receiving tips, while others appeared disinterested and frustrated. We even overheard staff members expressing a desire to work at a different hotel, describing this one as “complicated.” Overall, the experience felt far from what one would expect from a 5-star hotel, leaving us thoroughly disappointed.

The location of the hotel is the best of the region. The gardens are beautiful. The food is mediocre at best. Breakfast is good (although menu service such as eggs benedict and fresh waffles is missing). Lunch is a joke. Dinner is okay. The all-inclusive value is bad unless you like alcohol very much. The beach bar was understaffed. The rooms are dated. My room was not properly cleaned. Mold was ignored by the cleaning staff until it got so excessive that I complained to the hotel. After I complained about it, it was cleaned, but only partially. After I complained a second time, more of it was cleaned, but still some spots were missed by the cleaning staff. The hotel advertises itself as pet friendly with a pet corner for cats, but the pet corner was in a miserable state. Full of trash and without any water or food. I made guest relations aware of this. But they did nothing. Overall, the guest relations team was a mixed experience for me. All in all, the hotel is a good 3 star hotel, maybe a 4 star hotel at best. They don't even have spoons or proper cups.

We stayed with my friend for one week during the first days of October. We had the best time! Main restaurant food was amazing and i want to thanks all the staff for the great work that they did. Especially Guests relations team because whenever we asked for something they were so helpful. We will come back!
