Our experience at this hotel was generally very good. The reception staff were extremely friendly, and the food was excellent. The hotel was clean and well-organized, and the service was outstanding and courteous.
However, I have a few observations that I hope the hotel management will consider:
1. Housekeeping Issue: The cleaning staff entered our room every morning without knocking or being asked to do so, which was quite disturbing. It was uncomfortable having someone enter the room suddenly.
2. Racism Concerns: I would like to suggest that the hotel management put up signs to prevent racism, especially in the restaurant. Many German tourists were behaving rudely and giving discriminatory looks to most of the guests at the tables. This was something I noticed repeatedly and also heard from other guests in the hotel. Additionally, nearby shops around the hotel have spoken about similar racist behavior from some German tourists. I believe the hotel should take strict action to prevent racism and ensure all guests are treated equally.
Finally, I want to thank all the staff for their excellent service and the quality of the food. I will return to this hotel if measures are implemented to ensure that all guests, regardless of their background, are respected and treated equally.

Our stay at Riu San Francisco so far has been extremely frustrating. The first room we got had no air circulation, no AC, and a stale smell. It was uncomfortable and impossible to sleep in. When we complained, the staff insisted the room didn’t smell and were very dismissive — we lost half a day of our vacation just trying to get a room we could actually stay in. While figuring things out during a glass of wine on the terrace, a old man got naked on the balkony and harrassed us. The staff did not care one bit.
Yesterday, we were moved to another room, but it was so loud that I only managed to sleep 3 hours. Today, we were finally offered a third room that’s quieter — but only if we paid €300 extra, even though the price difference on Booking.com was only €140. That’s more than double the listed difference, and no clear explanation was given.
The service has been unhelpful and borderline rude throughout. No ownership of the problems, no real effort to make things right — just extra charges and stress.
We came here to relax, but instead it’s been a battle just to get a decent place to sleep. Would not recommend staying here. The beds are uncomfortable, the food is mediocre at best with very few vegertarian options and not many healthy high protein options. Would never stay here again. Location is horrible next to the awful German party street (tbf my mum booked this so this one is on us). Don't come here if you intend to relax. Better pay a little more and go to a real 4 star hotel, this one is 2 at best.
The gym is tiny with no real equipment, no air so if you try to work out heavier it gets sweaty soon. The spa area is ok, a small damp sauna and some chairs. Considering just booking a flight home early. As a learning don't book the cheaper options.

Great hotel, good customer service, good food especially with half board option (breakfast & dinner) very friendly staff member especially the ones who work at the bar. Full of energy and charm!

I'm not sure where the other people who have reviewed this property have stayed, but I don't believe it was at the Riu San Francisco.
The location is awful, it's right on top of one of the busiest streets in the area, full of rowdy bars, day and night. Our room overlooked the street and we never got any peace. We asked to switch rooms and the hotel told us there would be a 59 euro charge for this.
Rooms are basic with only hand wash and shower gel available in the bathroom. Couldn't make proper use of the balcony due to the outside noise.
Asked reception for a 2nd pillow after the first night, this never arrived.
The staff are lovely but the location of the hotel and lack of care for the noise really let's it down.

I love the Rio, but this hotel had three minuses. The air conditioning only worked in the afternoon, so we woke up sweaty in the morning. The bed was tragic, very uncomfortable, uneven, cramped. And also a lot of noise from the street. Anyway, the food and staff was good again.
