old hotel, everything is broken or it doesn't work (oven, door, table, TV) the balcony doors that struggle to close. The cleaning lady who comes to wake you up every morning. No microwave in the kitchen. A sofa bed from the 50s. And on top of that they steal 800 euro bags. Hotel to avoid unless you have no money at all and you have no choice

Near sea and store. Parking difficult. Food first class. Jacuzzi frothy and dirty! Pools small but nice. Young people at night noisy. Air-conditioning vital.

Let's go for a walk

The entrance was locked, and you have to go around to the Canifor hotel and wander through the whole place to get to your apartment, which was a minor nuisance. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was frankly run-down, with the kitchen tap falling off, mirror in the bedroom hung crooked, a cupboard door falling off and a toilet seat that didn't fit properly etc etc. Bedding was mildly stained and not comfortable, and towels didn't smell particularly fresh. Location is OK, I had a lovely sea view, and a short walk to the coast. There is a loud Irish pub across the road with live music every night, which for some will be great but not so much for me. If you're looking at this place, it's because it's cheap, and that's its main attraction. I don't regret staying here: the location was OKfor me (I hired a car to explore the island, and traffic and parking was decent here), however if you're looking to spend some time in the hotel this isn't the nicest place to stay.

I am horrified that I am expected to pay to stay in these conditions. The apartment is horrific. Leaking taps broken furniture and smashed lamp shades. The pool is so small that it hardly qualifies and is surrounded by teenagers smoking weed. The food is poor, to say the least. The most talented chef of the lot is the toaster.

I've been going to Malta every year for the last 12 years, 9 of them I have stayed here it's always clean and tidy the housekeeping staff come in every day make the bed, change the towels and clean the floor if needed. It's close to local shops, restaurants and the bus station, with a 10 minute walk (if you are able to) to the aquarium and the sea front
