Need some upgrading. Very clean and everything you need for a holiday. Very close to everything and very friendly staff. Changed our towels and bins 3 times and we were only there for 10days. Great Bar/Restaurant on site. Fantastic food and good value. Will definately stay again.

We have been coming here for over 20 years. The apartments are basic to look at but very comfortable to live in. The balconies facing the pool have sunshine all day until the sun goes down. The other apartments face towards the sea with sunshine until early afternoon. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas stove, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, cutlery, dishes and various glasses and cups. There's even a television included. The apartments are going through an upgrade with the bathrooms having new shower cubicles installed and all the rooms being freshly painted. It is also wheelchair friendly with 2 lifts.

I've just returned from a week at Apartamentos Buensol and loved my stay. I know Montemar really well and absolutely love the location but I'd never stopped at Buensol before. It's virtually frontline with some rooms having decent sea views, the rest of the rooms have decent pool views with great sized balconies that get the sun from mid-day to sun down. You have everything on your doorstep from a stunning beach, convenience stores, shops, bars and restaurants too. A 10 minute stroll in one direction you have the beautiful Benalmádena Puerto Marina and a 10 minute stroll in the other direction you have the stunning La Carihuela, which has more bars and restaurants than you could shake a stick at. Just 5 minutes up a gradual hill is the main road with terrific bus links to Málaga, Mijas, Fuengirola and more. I really do love the location.
With the actual Buensol apartments you need to be realistic. I would say they are 2 star at best. The building as a whole is dated, very dated in places, although the pool area and garden are really clean and very presentable. My room was fine, everything was spotless including all the bed linen and the bathroom had been recently renovated to a very decent standard too. The biggest issues I guess are that the bathroom is en suite so anyone sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge would have to enter the bedroom to use the bathroom. This wasn't the slightest issue for me or for a couple staying there but if you've 4 people sharing an apartment it's not ideal. The kitchen too was very, very tired with only one socket. An extension lead is provided so that the kettle, toaster and microwave can be plugged in at the same time. It's a solution but not ideal. Also in the lounge there is only one socket, the bedroom was the same too, so if there are a few people sharing an apartment with multiple mobile devices to charge then you'll have a problem. It's simply a sign that the building was built long before we all needed to recharge so many items. These were all things that I could overlook as for me all this was reflected in the price I paid. I thought it was a steal.
Judging from other people's photos it looks like some of the apartments have been fully refurbished but clearly some like mine haven't been yet.
You do also need to pay a €50 deposit on arrival but I knew that in advance so it wasn't a problem. On paying the deposit I was given a written receipt and the deposit was returned when I presented my receipt at checking out.
To sum up, Apartamentos Buensol is very dated but very clean and in a terrific location.
