Rooms are air conditioned and clean, you get daily room cleaning and towel replacements. Not the most ideal if you struggle with stairs but not a problem for our group. The staff were very polite and helpful even with language barriers, the barmen panos and Ali were extra friendly. You will never go hungry or thirsty here, breakfast started at 7:30 but only offered the same things everyday still plenty of variety though. All throughout the day fresh pizzas are served next to the daytime bar and taste delicious, they do multiple so there is always meat and vegetarian option. Dinner and tea times offered plenty of choice with different things each night, basics like chips and pasta were available everyday but there were always different fish, meats and vegetables every day. The food was very good there is always healthy options like salad and fruit and the fresh bread in a morning was perfect. The hotel is only a two minute walk to the beach so is in a great location. On the street at the reception end is a bus stop that has busses to Heraklion every few hours if you are planning an excursion it was only €4 each. There is also a lovely cafe and a lovely corner shop just up from the bus stop. Overall we loved our stay at Alexander house it was perfect for our first family holiday and we would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a quiet getaway with a lovely beach and amazing food.

We came to Greece for the first time and came to Greta Island. We stayed here. We were very impressed. Tomorrow we will fly back to Germany. We will tell our customers if they come to this island to stay here. The food is very delicious. There are many choices. Impressive. Good service.

Alexander House Hotel was splendid and worth every cent. I'm a 45 year old man, my kids are 9 and 17 and my wife is slightly younger than me. We all loved it! It's not one of those large ugly monsterous hotels that looks like some malplaced city office building. The place actually has its own unique charm. It's in good shape too considering it was built in 1989. The pool is an actual pool and not a cramped waterpark. It's not too deep either and suitable for hanging around and in. One thing to keep in mind here is that there are a lot of stairs and steps everywhere. We actually like that, but we're not escalator-lazy so we might be a bit biased. The food was great, every meal a treat. Their desserts are to die for. The airconditioned room were perfect. The staff was kind and welcoming. I really enjoyed the late night bartenders. Having a good hotel bar outdoors is underestimated. The hotel itself is located roughly a slow five minute walk from the beach and town center which was perfect! I warm heartedly recommend Alexander House Hotel. The local bus to Heraklion stops outside the hotel too which was great. There are several car rentals nearby. This is the place. You won't be disappointed.

The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Our room was across the street from the main building, and it was fine. Not new, and with a laughable small TV, but everything was functional and clean.
The location is close to the beach, but up on the hill, so coming back from the sea meant climbing a bunch of stairs.
The food ranged from "okay" to "terrible". They grill the meat at the restaurant, but as far as we could tell, barely any spices were used, and the meat is always burnt black. Italian night was terrible, and I am sincerely sorry for any Italian guests that had to see it. Breakfast was fine if you didn't have too high standards. Food labels were frequently missing, so people with allergies beware. Barely any vegan options.

We stayed in Agia Pelagia and intentionally chose this place for our holiday. It's close to Heraklion and the beaches, yet peaceful, and everything you need is right there. We stayed at Alexander House which turned out to be a very good place for a family holiday. It's reasonably priced and offers good value for money. Not too expensive, but very good at the same time! The hotel was clean, the food was excellent and varied, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Our room was spacious, light and very modern. The rooms were cleaned daily. The pool is large, with both deep and shallow areas, making it suitable both for adults and for children. The beach is a short walk from the hotel and there are several tavernas, bars, shop, two car rental companies and a sightseeing tour agency are located nearby (on the same street). In fact, everything you need for your holiday is very close to Alexander House, which is great!
We ate twice at Nikolas tavern (just outside the hotel), which may be simple and straightforward, but serves authentic Cretan food. What can I say? Fresh ingredients, great food and friendly service! Nefeli is a nice bar if you're looking for a place to relax with a cocktail. There's also a sightseeing agency called Crete.life nearby; we went on three day trips in Crete and Santorini with them and they picked us up from the hotel, which was very convenient.
The overall atmosphere was great, with friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our vacation special. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, whether you're travelling alone or with a family. It's a lovely, quiet village with a relaxing hotel.
