First time in Malta. Brilliant stay, great staff, food, and facilities. Great weather for February too, so I also enjoyed the outdoor pool a couple times. It’s a little shallow, but otherwise pleasant. I found my room a little hot (???) but no other problems. The location is really handy. There are lots of things to do nearby, and the transportation links are very good. Big room, nice view and great value for February. I would come back.

My partner and I have just returned from a short break at this wonderful hotel, and I can assure you that it won't disappoint. Spotlessly clean, delicious food, good drinks and comfortable rooms. We found the staff friendly and helpful, and worked hard to maintain the hotel's good reputation. The hotel is in a great location with views of the bay and only 5 minutes from the bus station which was very handy. All in all a very nice stay and would definitely return again in the future.

Everything was perfect. the staff was really nice to me and they helped when I needed them. the food was delicious, and there were many different things to eat. The bed was really comfy, big and clean. we got a room with a view of the sea and the pool. I strongly recommend it. I've loved it!

Lovely hotel with good service. Everywhere was kept clean and the choice of food at breakfast was staggering. The rooms were spacious and well maintained, only gripe if you like a bit of telly was the only UK channel was Sky News, not that that bothered us. The location was OK, there are good views from quite a few rooms and the facilities were excellent. If you're not "all inclusive" then there are some decent restaurants close by, the best of which was La Stalla. There weren't many nice bars on the front though. A great place to stay if you plan to explore via the local buses as one of the main terminals is just a few minutes walk away. I imagine it would get very busy tho in the peak season, we were there in February and the buses could get pretty packed even then.

We had a wonderful stay at dB San Antonio Hotel & Spa. The room was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—truly a home away from home. The staff was very friendly and supportive to my parents, especially my mum who uses a wheelchair. We had some fantastic dining recommendations and New Year's Eve celebration will surly be a memorable one. The all inclusive concept offered a huge variety of buffet options. All dining experiences were delicious. The use of the Spa gives you a warm welcome and it is the perfect hideaway from reality to relaxation, thanks to the efficient staff service they offer. The location of the hotel is perfect for a nice walk down the promenade and close to any amenities needed. Thank you for an exceptional experience; we can’t wait to return!"

**Decent Stay, But Needs Improvement** The best thing about this hotel is its location—convenient and accessible to nearby attractions, making it easy to get around. The variety of food options was decent, not amazing but not terrible either. However, the housekeeping was disappointing. The cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired, and it seemed like the staff didn’t pay much attention to detail. The furniture was quite old and in need of an upgrade, which made the room feel outdated and less comfortable. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience, but there’s definitely room for improvement. With better housekeeping and some renovations, this hotel could be much better

This is a wonderful hotel with lovely staff throughout and good choices of food. Paying for a seaview room is definitely recommended. However unfortunately I can't award 5 stars as there was only 1 working lift which results in long waits trying to get in and out of your room. And as the previous poster said the attention to detail on the cleaning was poor. The cleaners were lovely and replaced everything daily, however the shower screen, fridge door, balcony,bath tiles and many other places remained stained and dirty throughout our stay. It wasn't just the room as the lift, outside of our door and the areas in the lounge, dining room and the downstairs toilet just weren't cleaned thoroughly in 3 weeks. I didn't see a head housekeeper doing inspections as I would have expected. It really needs to be addressed. All in all despite the ongoing work and poor attention to housekeeping I would always recommend this hotel.

Do NOT book!!! 1. NOISE ISSUES MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP! There was construction next to the hotel throughout the night, causing unbearable noise and severely disrupting my rest. 2. FRONT DESK STAFF WERE RUDE, USED FOUL LANGUAGE, AND REFUSED TO ADMIT THEIR MISTAKE! When I was checking out, the staff falsely accused me of not paying and refused to let me leave. After verifying it was their mistake, they still did not apologize and insulted me instead. This unprofessional behavior nearly caused me to miss my flight. 3. ELEVATOR INCONVENIENCE! The hotel has over 400 rooms but only one elevator, often requiring a 10-minute wait just to use it. Avoid this hotel if you value your peace, time, and dignity!

We spent Christmas at this lovely hotel with great food, fabulous staff which made for our very happy Christmas break. Our lovely clean, nicely decorated room was on the 12th floor with fabulous sea views and was serviced every day. We never once had a problem with the lifts and can't think of anything negative to say about this hotel. The Christmas entertainment was unexpected and very enjoyable. Thank you to everyone at The Preluna Hotel.

Descent hotel in Slima with better location for view of the water front. Area is quiet and less crowded. But all shopping and eatery are nearby at walking distance. Decent sized rooms, have TV and tub for shower. Nest and clean, well maintained linens and furnishings best thing was the balcony view of the sea. Great... Please carry your own drinking water to hotel. They don't provide one in room. Lifts are quite slow.

I had and excellent stay! I asked for an VIP upgrade to a Sands Tower One Bedroom Suite and they offered me a special price for it. The Suite itself is unbelievable. Very big, modern and so comfortable. The balcony is very big and I enjoyed relaxing there in the January sun 🌞 Staff in general is nice and helpful. The Spa is amazing. Breakfast rich and delicious. At weekend it was annoying crowded but at the weekdays it was quiet and enjoyable. As Radisson Rewards VIP member I had a lot of stays in different Radisson hotels, so I have to fairly compare the benefits for my ratings. In other hotels of the Radisson group there were some special treatments at the check-in and welcome amenities in the room. Here in the Radisson Golden Sands there were no special counter (maybe because it was so crowded because of weekend), no special welcome and not even an amenity on my birthday, even though I had mentioned that when booking and at the check-in. Also they said they will call me if the room is ready. But they didn't so I was waiting again in the line at the check-in. That's why I gave a lower rating just for service. But anyway, I really enjoyed the stay and I highly recommend the hotel.

The hotel is great, the staff are incredible. We stayed in the Sunset Tower Suite, the views were great however rooms are a bit dated. The hotel overall is great, private beach, spa, sauna. The location is a bit isolated so expect to eat at the hotel unless willing to venture out.

This hotel is one of the best in Malta, offering all the services you'd want for a relaxing holiday. While it's a bit away from the major tourist sites, it’s definitely worth the visit. The beach is easily accessible, and though there are only a few restaurants nearby, but they have really delicious food, especially the Indian restaurant – amazing food! The hotel has two pools – one indoor and one outdoor – with the indoor pool kept warm, making it perfect for a winter swim. The staff is also very attentive and cheerful, adding to the overall positive experience. A fantastic place for a restful getaway!

I have been visiting Radisson Golden Sands for years now, celebrating birthdays, wedding anniversary’s and simple local getaways with friends and family buy I have to commend them on the great quality and service they have continued to uphold each and every time we visit. Even throughout COVID when others made cut backs - Radisson Golden Sands managed to hold it together and come back even stronger. We have tried other hotels locally but always come back here as we are always truly taken care of and have the best time. Went back this weekend to celebrate my birthday and I simply had to leave a review. Staff: from check-in to check-out simply impeccable. Friendly, welcoming and just a pleasure to deal with. Henri is just a gem and Greta and some other front office staffs were such a pleasure to meet. From concierge, waiting staff, room service attendants and even managers walking around - everyone acknowledges you and helps and puts a smile on your face. Rooms: always clean and spacious bright and airy. Full of amenities.I’m never let down. Food/restaurants: hands down the best breakfast on the island. So much variety, and choice -they have kept this up for years.Agliolio and Room Service food - superb. Kids Club: this is a new one that I think occurs on weekends but was a great added new bonus we had this weekend. From treasure Hunts, aqua gym, movies etc our daughter loved this treat and made many friends along the way. 10/10 always - thank you for being such a jewel on our island and well done to the Teams, staff and Management behind it all.

Our stay at the Radisson Golden Sands was absolutely exceptional, and we can confidently say it deserves every one of its five stars! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was second to none. We were warmly greeted by the sweetest and kindest guest relations officer, Henri, who made us feel instantly welcomed. Elizabeth, the lovely receptionist, noticed that we were celebrating a birthday and went above and beyond to make it memorable. She surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade, and to our delight, we found a delicious birthday cake waiting for us in our room. The room itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and had the most comfortable bed and pillows, ensuring a truly restful stay. Every detail was perfect, adding to the overall luxurious experience. On Saturday morning, breakfast was another highlight of our stay. The buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, and everything was fresh and flavorful. To top it all off, the staff surprised us again with prosecco and a beautiful plate of sweet treats, making the occasion even more special. We are so thankful for the incredible attention to detail and the genuine care we received throughout our stay. A heartfelt thank you to Henri, Elizabeth, and the entire team for making our weekend unforgettable. We highly recommend the Radisson Golden Sands for anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and personalized experience. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Our stay at AX Palace Malta was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and professional staff, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The hotel itself is stunning, offering a perfect balance of luxury and coziness. Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The housekeeping team did an excellent job of maintaining cleanliness and comfort throughout our visit. We were particularly impressed with the exceptional service—every staff member we encountered was polite, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our experience memorable. Whether at the reception, restaurant, or spa, we always felt well taken care of. Speaking of the restaurant, the dining experience was exquisite! The food was fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully. The breakfast selection was varied and catered to all tastes, providing a great start to each day. The hotel’s location is also ideal, offering easy access to key attractions, shopping areas, and public transport. Lovely hotel, although I would judge it a 4 * maximum, even through listed as a 5*. The staff were very friendly and nothing but smiles and enthusiasm for all and any requests. Room 435 was a very large room with mini-fridge and views over the Med. The bath tap was faulty but the room was spotless and cleaned every day. Restaurants Asian: very good Roof-top: closed for our 5 days. Ground floor: very good. Deffo a good hotel.

Great Hotel in a perfect location. I had a beautiful sweet with fabulous views over the city and to the harbour. Rain was large and the bathroom was very big. The bathroom had a bath and a shower with a twin sink. It felt luxurious.

We stayed at The Westin in February for 3 nights as a weekend getaway. The first thing that impressed us was the service, every member of the staff was very lovely, kind, and helpful. We were offered a big room with 2 queen beds, so we enjoyed the spacious room we had. We had lunch at the restaurant in the lobby, and enjoyed that too. We liked staying here during winter, and I believe it’s amazing during summer. The only thing we weren’t very impressed by was the indoor pool/spa space. It felt slightly outdated and in need of refurbishing. It was also difficult to find sun beds, as they are quite limited. Nevertheless, we would certainly come back to stay here.

5 out of 5 stars! Absolutely brilliant stay at The Westin Dragonara Resort, Malta. We stayed there for 1 week on the Christmas break and had a great time. The check-in was very smooth. We had to wait for a few hours before we could get our room but we relaxed in the large lobby. The rooms were spacious, clean and well furnished. The two double bed sea-view rooms had a proper sea view with a sizeable balcony to relax on. The breakfast was amazing. Great selection and a very good staff. We used the indoor pool, steam and sauna rooms which were all clean, well-kept and well-maintained. The lobby was very busy due to the Christmas season but the hotel is large enough to handle that. Overall an amazing stay. Thank you to The Westin Dragonara team. We will definitely return next year.

This was a tough one as the hotel is lovely but the customer service dragged my rating down. The good: nice location, spacious rooms, nice balcony. Pools looked lovely but I was there for work. The bad: my room was hot, even with the air conditioning set at 15 but there's no way it was cooler than 22. I called down to reception twice to get a fan or someone to fix the air conditioning. Each time, I was promised that someone would call me. I even went to the front desk, same thing as I was promised a call. NO ONE ever called me or addressed my issue. Luckily it was cool at night with the balcony doors wide open all night but unfortunately there are mosquitos so you have to balance being uncomfortably hot or getting bitten. Also, the food was average. Breakfast ok. The Caesar salad at the bar was the best meal I had over the few days I was there. Overall, really disappointed.

Some places impress, but The Westin Dragonara? It stays with you.

A room size is appropriate and queen bed is acceptable for 2 people to sleep. A pool outside is wide and good view to see seaside. Breakfast is excellent and yummy. TV channels are good to watch football match. Price is appropriate. Comprehensively excellent.

Brilliant service overall. All staff seemed to take pride in their work and were very attentive. Clean modern rooms with all amenities you need. Great buffet breakfast with attentive staff. Evenings meals at Le Bistro had a good range of choices (especially vegetarian options) and got very friendly hospitable service from all staff, but especially our “regular” server Marvie.

We stayed here for four nights for a holiday and it was a bit disappointing. We arrived late on Sunday night and went out for a while during the day on the Monday and came back to our room not having been cleaned. On Tuesday, we wanted to go for a swim only to find that the outdoor pool was shut which wasn’t very clearly advertised when booking (this had been a big selling point for us). The indoor pool was nice but the jacuzzi was not very warm at all. Our room got cleaned on the Tuesday but again on the Wednesday after going out for a while, we came back to an unclean room. The light in the bathroom also broke while we were there. We were then kept awake on our final night with people scraping chairs in the room above - we had to wake up at 3am to get our flight. I would go back to St. Julian’s but not this hotel. EDIT: Adding this in response to the hotel’s response - the do not disturb sign was on the door when we were in the room resting, washing or changing and as I said, we left the room for long periods of time a lot and the room was still not cleaned. The housekeeping staff were rarely seen by us so I believe this is either a staffing issue or a scheduling issue. Also the fact that the staff have mis-gendered me by using the title “Mr” in their review really shows their lack of attention to detail or care for their guests.

It's a beautiful environment and very well designed space, I would very much recommend. romm very clean. they make sure everything is okay and they all provide great customer service. 100% no regrets coming here.

Mohan did a good job! Well done. We pretended that a 5 Star hotel would have table cloths on tables. Ours had none, not even a runner! Food was good, but as for carvery there was none beef finished and the other beef was hard to eat.

I was impressed with the service and facilities of The Grand Hotel Excelsior from the moment I arrived. The grounds and lobby area are beautiful and very well kept. I was picked up at the airport and greeted by the bell attendant immediately upon arrival. I was given a complimentary drink during check-in and was escorted to my room after an efficient visit with the front desk. My room was clean and spacious. I am photosensitive, so the softer lighting and charm of the room was very inviting. I was also pleasantly surprised to find some treats and a bottle of wine in my room as an ‘Esteemed Guest’ of the hotel. Everything I needed in the room was there- plenty of closet space, mini-fridge, tub/shower, etc. Housekeeping was very kind and responsive with any requests I had. The breakfast buffet you can include in your room rate was the best I have ever experienced. It had something for everyone and is located on Level 4 in the Spice Island Restaurant. I would highly recommend choosing the room rate with the included breakfast buffet, you won’t regret it. I also dined at the Harbor View Bar (restaurant) and was happy with my chicken salad. I visited during the colder months so the outside pool and recreation areas were not being used, but they are spacious and look to be a lot of fun during warmer weather. The indoor pool is also larger in size, and there is a smaller hot tub as well. The workout facility is more than adequate with any type of machine you may want to utilize during a visit to the property. I visited the gift shop and jewelry shop, and found some treasures to take home. Although I didn’t visit the spa, it looked to offer anything you might expect at reasonable rates. Overall, I was very happy with every aspect of my stay at The Grand Hotel Excelsior. The pricing is much lower than you may expect. One other aspect to consider are the cathedral bells that ring often throughout each day. Because of the Excelsior’s location just outside of the city gates, I was never overwhelmed with crowds or noise. The location to Valletta is a pleasant 10-minute walk on sidewalks, by the Triton Fountain and through the city gates. The history, architecture, food and charm of Valletta is to die for! I thought this would be a one and done trip, but I will definitely be going back and The Grand Hotel Excelsior will be my hotel of choice!

Pretty unimpressed with this hotel. Upon entering it has a lovely appearance and we were given a free drink while checking in. After that there was no offer to have our luggage taken to our room. The room was dank, dark and the balcony view was pretty sad having to look at a dirty wall. Outside the hotel smells of mould. A couple of hours after check-in I tried to have a nap, but a cleaning lady tried barging into the room even though I had a do not disturb sign on the door. She asked to clean the room and I responded politely that it would not be necessary as we had just checked in and the room is clean. She responded saying no one was meant to be checked in to the room and gave me a dirty look before she eventually left after I told her again that we had just checked in and repeated that the room is clean. This interaction made me feel unsafe and just made me feel aware that staff maybe don’t communicate with each other well and don’t respect the privacy of guests. The cost of this hotel is not worth what they offer and it does not feel luxurious as they seem to advertise. I’ll also add that they provide a warning not to drink the tap water as it is not safe, I made myself a tea from said tap water as I forgot, and had to use the bottled water provided to make any hot drinks after that, considering staff are aware of the bad tap water, more water should be provided for the room as it takes two bottles to fill the kettle which left us with one bottle for drinking water, this is concerning. My husband and I will not be returning here. Thanks but no thanks.

We stayed here during the Summer of 2024 for a week. We opted for breakfast included during our stay and the large variety of options available was really good. Our twin room was spacious and clean and the pool area was really nice too. The hotel is walking distance to Valletta city centre, so was very convenient for us to get around. The bar on the ground floor made really nice cocktails and had various musical entertainment in the evening which was nice. Most of the staff were friendly and approachable. Our main criticism was the pool bar was very busy so it was not run as efficiently as the indoor restaurants and orders got lost or took ages to arrive. The outdoor eating area for the pool bar also had dirty plates of food that hadn’t been cleaned away which attracted pigeons. Nevertheless, this was not entirely off putting so I would stay here again.

We spent a very enjoyable break over the New Year period. The hotel is well furnished and very comfortable, however the bedroom we stayed in was in need of some TLC as the carpet was showing signs of wear and the easy chair & furniture looked tired and worn. Also, some of the floor tiles in the bathroom were cracked. Having said this both the service and the breakfast was excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive and the choice of continental and cooked food at breakfast was extensive. It is also in a great location as only a short distance away from the centre of Valletta and although there are steps from the hotel to street level the hotel operates a free regular shuttle service.

Lovely five star hotel very close to sea, bus station and main streets. Decor is a bit dated but the hotel is only 18 years old. Very pleasant staff. Nice harbour view bar for snacks. Options of other dining experiences, but many opt to dine in Valetta. Shuttle bus service from hotel to the city gates. Great discounts in January and February.

This was the BEST Hilton experience I’ve ever had. Wonderful staff! Beautiful Mediterranean views. Executive lounge was always stocked with food and drink. The hotel was very easy to get to. The layout took a day or so to get used to. Highly recommend!

Hello, I stayed at your hotel, and I have nothing to complain about. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are lovely, and so is the pool. However, when you enter in the lobby, there is a terrible smell—like sewage, absolutely overwhelming. Nothing else, but it's unbearable. If you could do something about it...

We had a wonderful time...the hotels location was great. We were able to walk easily along the sea to the town and shopping mall. Our room was gorgeous, with a pool view. The reception area was welcoming and had a lovely vibe, we often ordered Bloody Mary's there and they were beautifully made. An excellent hotel

10/10. I stayed in a suite aisle 500s, the balcony is massive, with incredible ocean/ pool views. The hospitality here is one of a kind. Everyone is beyond kind/ helpful Especially a lovely gentleman with the name of Carlos whom i got the chance to meet at the lounge on floor 9. He goes above and beyond to help. Thank you for a lovely, wonderful holiday. Looking forward to staying here again!

What an impressive hotel to be honest I haven’t looked at any of the pictures or looked at any of the reviews before booking this place so my mind was blown when we arrived The reception is huge with lots of windows over overlooking the sea The reception process was smooth at check-in and we had the lovely Amber who managed to upgrade our rooms Our rooms weren’t ready though, and she mentioned that she would give us a call when they were so we went and had a drink and some food in the bar Here we were served by Craig he was ready and hospitable The Club sandwich was absolutely huge The portion of chips is massive too We had the chicken burger there was not really what I was expecting. A slightly different should be aware of that if ordering. The surroundings of the hotel there is quite a lot to do. There’s plenty of shops bars and Morena to walk around with lots of boats of all different sizes. There is all the regular touristy tat shops too We were in room 905 on one of the top floors The room was spacious with a huge super king-size bed. There is a lovely sofa with a coffee table, a great balcony with a lovely view of the whole Morena and another table that connect as a desk with a swivel desk chair The TV is actually quite small for the size of the room There is a lava coffee machine which to be honest did not taste great and a big spacious bathroom with a bath and plenty of wardrobe. Space The heating is easily controlled And the best thing about the bathroom is a filtered water tap for fresh drinking water and cups Also not to forget that there is a teapot in the room- this really made a big difference to me as I love tea in the morning. With it being a special event, they also provided a free bottle of prosecco and two cakes in the room as well, which was a lovely touch The rooms are not well soundproof as unfortunately we could hear Next Door’s TV loud children and blaring all night The executive lounge is absolutely brilliant plenty of drink soft drinks, hot drinks, and booze The food selection is a little bit random with lots of little misfits of food to select from the service in there provided by door was absolutely astonishing. He was such a lovely friendly person. I couldn’t do any more to help our trip. We also went to the bar that evening and we also ordered two porn star martini. I have no idea what turned up but they definitely were not porn star martinis. I could see the way behind the bar using a cocktail shaker, but I definitely do not think that these were shaken. I think they came out of a container and we passed off porn star martinis. All in all this hotel is absolutely fabulous. I recommend the restaurant and the bar in the main reception area and we will definitely be back.
