Fantastic training center and luxury hotel. Rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. You either have a huge balcony or a terrace. The restaurant has a buffet style breakfast/lunch/dinner with excellent dishes. There are also an a la carte restaurants and a pool bar. Service is friendly and quick. Downstairs is a gym. There's also a warm water swimming pool, a yacussi, a spa and a tiny shop. The beach is cobblestones, no sand, but two big outdoors swimming pools will refresh you. Yes this is relaxed luxury.

In our last full day of our 7night holiday here. Has been a great trip. Plenty of chairs and sunbeds. Pool quiet. Room upgrades given to us on arrival. Friendly staff. Good selection of food and drinks. Drinks are a bit samey as Sprite is used a lot. For the price point the hotel is at I think this is good. Hotel is clean and the cleaners are super friendly. Staff attentive and not over bearing. Had a great stay!

We had the most wonderful holiday in this hotel, it was truly a 10/10 experience. It was our first holiday with our little boy (5.5 months) and the hotel made it so special and easy for us. We stayed in a semi private pool room and it was perfect for us! Everything at this hotel is great - the rooms, the service, the food, the facilities, the cleanliness, but what makes it exceptional is the friendly, genuine nature and attentiveness from the staff. I was a little nervous before going as hadn’t travelled with a baby before, I emailed the hotel with some questions and the manager, Silver, replied promptly putting my mind at ease (assuring me we’d have a bath, cot, etc.) He was also there to great us when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. A special thanks to Vasilia on reception, who is a credit to this hotel - she took great care of us, and her daughter who also works there was lovely too, and also Antonis in the restaurant and Alex at the door. Everyone was so friendly and made such a fuss of the baby. The pool area was lovely, always plenty of sunbeds at any time of day. There was music playing at the pool bar, so a nice atmosphere, but it was quiet enough that you could easily relax in areas of the pool without hearing it (the pool area is so big!) The yoga and fitness classes were high quality and the instructors had great energy. The indoor and outdoor gym facilities were exceptional. The food in the buffet restaurant was lovely, really varied, and catered very well for dietary requirements (gluten free, lactose free). The chefs were also very helpful if I had any questions. The view of the mountains is beautiful and peaceful. We also enjoyed eating at the a la carte restaurant whilst listening to the live music. We could not have asked for anything more for our first family holiday - it was perfect. As some reviewers have mentioned, the beach is stones, not sand, but that didn’t bother us. We knew this when we booked it, and still enjoyed walking along the beach and a refreshing dip in the clear waters.

The hotel overall is nice – the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, and the location is beautiful with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff are polite and the service is generally good. However, I must be honest – this is not a true 5-star experience, it feels much more like a decent 4-star hotel. I left with mixed feelings and, to be fair, a bit disappointed. The beach area, while having very clear water, is full of large stones, making it almost impossible to walk barefoot. You really need water shoes to enjoy it. On top of that, there are no proper showers or foot-washing facilities at the beach entrance, which means guests end up carrying sand everywhere. For a hotel that claims to be 5-star, these are basic things that should be in place. What really disappointed me the most was the way guests are treated differently. On the day of our departure, we had to leave the hotel very early (around 2am) to catch our flight. In every other 5-star hotel we’ve stayed at, staff have prepared a small breakfast or takeaway package for us when leaving so early. Here, despite informing reception in advance, nothing was arranged for us. To make matters worse, when we passed through reception, we noticed two breakfast packages ready on the desk – clearly for other guests, but none for us. That was the moment I realised how stingy and inconsistent this place can be, and it left a very bad impression. Overall, this hotel has potential, but it’s not 5-star quality. With some improvements in facilities and a more consistent, fair approach to all guests, it could be much better. For now, I would honestly rate it as a 4-star experience at best – and quite a disappointing one considering the expectations we had.”

was put in this hotel for 2 nights when our actual said there were plumbing issues in our rooms. we were placed in the private villa, villa itself was lovely and the food at the all inclusive buffet was delicious, pools were lovely. Everything was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. the villas were a bit awkward to get to the main hotel restaurant, with no proper path. This hotel is kind of isolated, no shops, restaurants or supermarkets within walking distance but would be okay if you had a car.

Our small villa (with 10 others) was situated in a separate area to the remainder of the hotel. Adults only. The view was fantastic and the buggy service to the other areas of the hotel was really quick and efficient. Our room was very clean and well serviced. All the staff we met we really terrific, nearly all spoke excellent English. Our stay was made even more enjoyable by the consideration and attention we received from Leni, (Eleni) one of the duty managers. She was exceptionally friendly and helpful and always had a smile. There was a big selection of dishes for breakfast and the buffet dinner was also good. The Blend Steak restaurant was also really good, the steaks were great. Thank you to all the staff for an enjoyable holiday.

What a great place to stay on Crete! The service here is incredible, from the moment you arrive until you leave. The food was top notch with many options. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I really cannot say enough about the staff here, nothing is a problem it was always "Of course -- we'll take care of it" as the answer to any request. a special thank you to Irene at the front desk, Nelly who seemed to work at every restaurant and of course Eleni the duty manager for showing what first class service is! We hope to visit again someday

Wonderful hotel. Absolutely gorgeous scenery. Extremely friendly staff. Buffet has wide variety of delicious food for breakfast and supper. Not much to criticise. For adults, it clearly is paradise. Our only complain is that the hotel could improve the offering for kids. The hotel has relatively limited infrastructure for kids (e.g. no pool with slides or water games). Only 3 evening shows per week (including twice the same bubble show). And relatively difficult to find food for lunches and post nap snacks (one can order room service or at pool/beach bar but always the same options). As a result, our 3.5 year old kid was a bit bored at the end of our 9-day stay. But otherwise. Top notch

Absolutely Amazing Stay - One of the Top Resorts! We had an unforgettable experience at this resort! The service was absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived - every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering both comfort and style. The location is stunning, with easy access to everything we needed and breathtaking views all around. The food was another highlight - delicious, fresh, and with plenty of variety to satisfy every taste in our family. We’ll definitely be back! My whole family loved it, and we all agreed it’s one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommend!

We have been treated amazingly well by the entire staff of this resort. We didn't know what to expect before we arrived. Wow- we could have never expected how incredible the entire property is. Everything is clean, well-maintained, and the everyone goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is incredible. We tried various restaurants and room service and have rave reviews of everything. Housekeeping was constantly refreshing our room and making it clean. The golf cart rides around the well landscaped property were a fun treat. The views of Spinalonga from the beach and reception are likely the best in the area. We highly recommend this resort. It is perfect for a romantic vacation or for a family trip.

Stayed in this hotel for 7 nights. Staff were nice and the hotel overall is nice also, there's a lot of space to relax and sunbathe. Cleaning service is excellent. Hotel is in a very peaceful location but own car is recommended if you are looking forward to stay in this location, its far away form everything. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for family people with little children that needs baby-pram. However, i wouldn't rate it as a 5 star hotel and I am not convinced its a 5 star hotel anyway. We arrived to the hotel at 2am at night, we weren't offered any snacks. Room's ventilation was very smelly, room was decent but shower had cold water most of the evenings we stayed there, and finally when we requested to check on it, it wasn't fixed. Alcoholic drinks didn't taste nice, not for a 5 star hotel as it's said. Food was decent, loved the desserts but food options were limited. Hotel has a private beach and a free shuttle but its a rocky beach and most of the sunbeds were broken. The beach bar is not free FYI.

For the price that we payed, we were extremely happy with our stay at this resort. I would give it 5 stars in relation to the price Personally, I found the food generally good- there were a few options to choose from at breakfast lunch and dinner, and the food at the snack bar really hit the spot. Some of the reviews say that the food was cold. This was only if a tray of food was nearly finished, and we were glad to see that they continued to refresh the food all the way until the end of the set meal times. They also had options like spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread for people who aren’t as keen to explore local cuisine. There are multiple pools to choose from with ample sunbed and shade options. The pools were a good place to cool off in the hot weather. Generally the resort had a relaxed atmosphere, with a few themed night with entertainment at the bar. It is a bit out of the way of the local town and beaches, but this adds to the calmer atmosphere, and the town is walkable within around 30 minutes. The customer service at reception was efficient, and the hotel were even kind enough to stay up for our very delayed arrival in the early hours of the morning. If you are looking for a very luxurious 5-star resort, then I would consider looking at hotels at a higher price point (you get what you pay for after all). However if you are looking for a relaxed and comfortable retreat by yourself or with friends and family without breaking the bank, then I think this is a lovely option!

Driving back to the airport now after 10 incredible nights at Rimondi. This hotel is everything you need for a relaxing, comfortable holiday. Never had an issue with food, there’s something for everyone. The staff are polite, helpful and endearing. Some even remembered us from last year which was nice. The whole hotel is impeccably clean and so was both restaurants. Overall the value for money is amazing, we loved staying here 2 years in a row. Definitely hire a car from the airport it allows freedom to come and go as you please 🙏🏻

Had a lovely holiday here with my wife and 2 kids (10 and 13). The staff were fantastic, helpful and friendly. The 3 hotel swimming pools were perfect. Great atmosphere for families and those enjoying a break from it all. The nearby town is beautiful with lots to explore and good shopping. The all inclusive food was delicious, the drinks were good but then I don't drink much so not an expert. The family hotel room we had was fine but not 5 star. Overall it was amazing value and just what we wanted. I would go again.

We’ve just come back from a stay at Rimondi Grand Resort & Spa, and while there are definitely some highlights, there are also a few things you should know before booking. On the plus side, there’s loads of space to relax during the day, with plenty of sun loungers and access to four different pools. The setting is lovely, with great views, and the regular shuttle buses to both the beach and the old town make getting around easier (though more on that later). The all-inclusive food and drink selection is decent, and Villani restaurant was our favourite spot — you can help yourself to snacks and drinks there all day. Now for the downsides. The shuttle buses are pricey (9€ single / 11€ return) unless you’re heading to the beach, which is free. Even then, the town shuttle only has eight seats, so you’ve got to book well in advance or risk having to take a taxi back. The hotel feels very isolated, so you’re almost forced into town if you want entertainment — because honestly, there’s barely any on site. Food-wise, you won’t starve, but it’s not great. If you’re a fussy eater, you might struggle. The all-inclusive drinks were probably the biggest letdown — very weak, both in taste and alcohol content. And while the all-inclusive supposedly ends at 10:50pm, the bar staff seemed to make it up as they went along. One night we were still being served all-inclusive drinks well past midnight, while another night we were cut off right on the dot. I even have a bank statement showing I paid for shots (which aren’t included in the package) at just gone midnight, while still being given all-inclusive drinks at the same time. The inconsistency was frustrating. Another tip: don’t book excursions through the hotel. We enquired about a trip, then later found the exact same one in the old town for 80€ cheaper. The lady selling excursions at the hotel was also incredibly rude, and at one point when we popped into the jewellery shop, I asked about necklaces and was met with a dismissive look up and down, as if we didn’t belong there. Not a great feeling. Overall, Rimondi has its perks — nice pools, plenty of space, and beautiful views — but between the weak drinks, limited entertainment, and overpriced extras, it left us feeling like it could have been much better. If you’re after a chilled poolside holiday and plan to sort out your own nights out and excursions, it might work for you. If not, you may want to look elsewhere.

Beautiful resort with fantastic service. Rooms are simple and in a rustic style. The place is large and the staff gladly give you a ride in a golf cart if you need it (kids, elderly, bags, etc). Location is not directly near anything but Hersonissou is not far away and there is a great view north towards the Mediterranean. Kids’ room has crafts for kids every day and there are various activities on offer every day too. The staff is friendly, helpful and speak good English.

Beautiful hotel and super nice staff! The pools could really use an upgrade however, the outdoor ones as well as the indoor spa pool. They are very basic and outdated-looking especially considering this is a 5* hotel. The outdoor pools were freezing. For guests arriving in September and October, they should really be at least a little bit heated. The extra costs that come with this can’t be that high, as they would only need to be heated for around 1.5-2 months of the entire year. Pools are standard heated in other 5* hotels I’ve been to in autumn, from Egypt to Turkey. The pools were literally colder than the sea😢. The tiles also look outdated and cracks are on the sides of the pool - some nice new mosaic tiles would make the pools look 10x more luxurious, but that is a matter of taste. We did the cooking class which was fun, but for €60 pp I expected to do some actual cooking more, rather than just roll some dough and chop a salad. The location is ideal, just 20 minutes from the airport but very far if you want to drive to popular spots on the island such as Chania or Rethymno. Our room was upgraded into a one bedroom apartment which was very nice, however the flush randomly stopped working and my bf had to use his plumbing skills to fix it. On our last day we couldn’t get it to work at all. Overall we would definitely stay there again because it’s a quiet, green and beautiful hotel and the staff are very friendly. The cocktails are delicious too. The mini supermarket is also super handy to have. Small word of advice: for the apartments with a kitchenette you should put standard more dishwasher tabs in the room not just 2 as well as salt and pepper. Ours were empty.

We were three families on a 7-night vacation and booked a villa, a two-bedroom apartment, and a one-bedroom apartment. All the rooms were extremely spacious, with large balconies and big rooms. The breakfast was amazing – a wide variety of cheeses, vegetables, fruits, and desserts. The service at the hotel was excellent! Whatever you ask for, the staff will gladly help. There are small golf carts that take you and your luggage around the resort. There are two large, luxurious pools. This resort is highly recommended for families with kids – there are plenty of activities like mini golf, tennis, yoga classes, a gym, and more. There’s also a supermarket near the lobby with very reasonable prices – 2 euros for a six-pack of large water bottles, beers, snacks, and more. On Wednesday evenings, there’s dancing and a truly authentic and joyful atmosphere. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the noise from the cicadas – it’s nonstop. I’m not sure if this is common in all hotels in Crete, but in this specific hotel, the sound and amount of cicadas were very intense, and it’s hard to get used to it. The hotel charges a tax at checkout that isn’t part of the room price – 15 euros per night. Other than that, I highly recommend the hotel and its staff – we had a wonderful time and would be happy to come back again!

We have just got home after a week at village heights and we couldn't have asked for more from the resort. From the moment we arrived the staff were fantastic so helpful, attentive and welcoming. Our suite was huge with two outside areas, 2 bathrooms and so lovely and clean the welcome package was a beautiful touch and housekeeping came every day with fresh towels, to empty bins and change sheets if needed. We came self catering and food and drinks are fairly pricey on site but they offer meal deals and you get a voucher for a discount on breakfast and dinner to use within the first two days. We chose to eat off site most the time or use the ample facilities in the room to make meals. The resort is totally out the way and high up so the view is amazing but it is very isolated, the free shuttle bus service is a god send we used this regularly and enjoyed trips to herssonissos, the beach and the old town. Taxis are also easy to find and most give you a card so you can use them throughout your stay. The highlight of our stay for my children were the pools, they are so clean and beautifully maintained and a lifeguard is always present so they were able to swim safely without me being in the pool at all times. One day my son did not get out for 3 hours 😅. There is so much more I could say but overall we had the most amazing week. Special mention to Thomais on the front desk who was the most amazing, helpful and informative member of staff I have ever met and nothing was too much trouble for her she is a credit to the entire hotel. Also Emmanuel on the pool bar was fantastic and brilliant with the children and his cocktails and special coffees are beautiful. Thank you so much village heights resort!!! P.s. I am ordering some star jasmine for my own garden as the smell was so lovely and will be a nice reminder of the time we spent there.

We had a fantastic week long stay at Village Heights. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views of the mountains. The hotel itself is gorgeous—modern, spotless, and really well maintained. Our room was incredibly spacious, clean, and ideal for families as it had a kitchenette with oven, toaster and microwave. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the overall service throughout our stay was excellent. That staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The food was a real highlight—high quality, tasty, and with great variety at every meal. The cocktails were also delicious. A couple of minor points- the kids' pools were on the small side and didn’t have any slides or water toys. Also, the pools don’t open until 10am, which can be a bit late for families with early risers. However there is a great playground and kids club! The evening buffet doesn’t start until 7pm, though you can grab something from the Citrus Bar earlier in the evening. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we’d definitely return. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing, high-quality stay in a stunning location.

Friendly and helpful staff. The air conditioning works, although the unit takes a moment to get going. The room with a balcony was clean and well-maintained in its vintage style. Delicious buffet-style breakfasts. The hotel is definitely worth recommending. On the downside, the toilet flush refills slowly, and the shower curtain also leaves much to be desired. Nevertheless, the stay was very enjoyable.

Hotel it self is very clean a good breakfast staff are very friendly and helpful nothings to much trouble. The restaurant is always busy because the food is that good. The only downside is across the road is a night club a little bit noisy when closing at 6am .

Beautiful old building in a great location, everywhere is accessible, within a 10 minute walk. Our room was air conditioned and come with a mini fridge and big balcony. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. They are in need of a slight freshen up, we had a junior suite which was lovely however the shower head had no way of attaching to anything so you had to just hold it the whole time you are in the shower. Not a big deal but an easy fix for the hotel. There is one giant drawback to this hotel which is sadly out of thier control. Right across the street is a huge nightclub that opens from 12am-6am Wednesday-Sunday. The sound travels through the walls and windows and keeps you awake the entire time. I can't see a fix for this other than the nightclub closing, but it has to be pointed out. It's a real shame as other than that the hotel is lovely. If you're an extremely heavy sleeper, you would be fine. In summary, a lovely hotel, lovely staff, lovely location, really annoying nightclub next door.

The perfect place to stay in old Rethymno! Very clean, kind and accommodating staff, excellent location, and beautiful building. The hotel itself is quiet, but there is some noise from the restaurants and clubs nearby. I am a light sleeper and was fine with earplugs and some white noise playing.

Me and my partner have just got back from staying here for the past week. I’d like to start by making it clear this hotel is not a 5 star hotel. The food is below average, and very limited on choices. There was a particular member of staff in the restaurant a lady who makes it clear she doesn’t like the English I witnessed her talking about a guest to her colleague and was sticking her fingers up about this guest, which I found absolutely disgusting. There’s a young girl who works on reception who was always rude and blunt, one day she tried to charge us for the hotel mini bus to the drop off at Mythos restaurant even though the mini bus is free through the hotel at set times! Which we had to state to her which then she still continued to argue it with us until we pointed out the hotels bus times which were on a board behind her then she came across like she didn’t realise. The day we were leaving the hotel we got charged 10 euros just to get hotel mini bus down the bottom of the hill to be able to get our transport to the airport which we had paid for in our package! The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so you are limited on being able to go to a shop and get essentials etc, so the hotel does provide a small shop but the shop doesn’t open until 10am and the bar doesn’t open until 11am, and this meant we couldn’t get any drinks from bottle of water or any form of soft drink until this time not even coffee or tea which we found frustrating as it meant we had to stock up from the shop the night before. On the plus side for an all inclusive the alcoholic drinks were good and the rooms were always cleaned very good each day. There is a really lovely man whio works in the bar, he’s always smiling and very welcoming. The Mountain View’s are stunning

We were looking for a quiet fuss-free family holiday in Crete and this is exactly what we found. Everyone at Filion Suites was warm and welcoming. They were friendly and helpful and made sure our stay was exceptional. The rooms are cleaned daily, spacious and look out over the olive trees. There are 3 pools and they are never too busy. There are plenty of sun-beds, and everyone in the pool bar is friendly and quick to serve. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are server in the main restaurant and the food is very good, and there was always something we liked. Although all the staff cleaners waiters and barmen were excellent, we wanted to highlight Regina on reception who greeted us with a smile and addressed all our questions with a typical warm Greek hospitality.

We were very happy with our stay at this hotel! We booked all inclusive – and it was amazing: breakfasts, lunches, and dinners were varied and delicious, always fresh. The bar with drinks was available for free during the day, which was very convenient. The hotel is located in the mountains – the views are incredible and the air is fresh. There was a free shuttle to the beach, only about 7 minutes away, which was no problem at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel grounds were well-maintained and green. The atmosphere is cozy, a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. We will definitely come back!

Great location resort is on the beach which is not a fine sandy beach .Bit there is a lovely sandy beach if you discover the coastline . It’s described as a 5* luxury resort please note - it does not fulfill the international standard of 5* luxury; although our bedroom was spacious the bedding was not changed every day . Sad old soft furnishing’s The bathroom drab but practical. The food is poor quality and for choice and definitely lacking in variety of vegetarian options in fact we were disgusted to be served meat in the A la carte restaurant even after having requested only vegetarian food . And when I asked if it was meat in the aubergine dish I was lied too . The service staff didn’t care how important it was that I did not want to eat meat . I left the restaurant feeling nauseated. When I complained at reception I was told it was an unintentional mistake. And the reception manager didn’t have capacity to deal with the complaint. Salad & chips was what we ate most days until we discovered some lovely restaurants outside of the resort . Although it was an all inclusive holiday- please note there are no fresh fruit juices available, only concentrate juices . No dairy free milk available for breakfast or hot drinks. No branded soft drinks included in the all inclusive booking . Just cheap alternatives. Would we visit this resort again ? Definitely not .

Want to be objective. Overall very big spacious facility with many buildings, pools of different sizes and resting areas, playgrounds,souvenirs and basics shops, spa, gym, amphitheater and a church, if you need. The service maybe could be a bit better, but in the peack of the season and with so many people in a huge hotel I understand it's not easy. The reception is very helpful however. Sea coast and the hotel beach is nice overall, stones on the ground, with little pier, cool for some pictures, unfortunately people leaving some trash, so you can see the plastic cups here and there on the ground. Food is enough, fresh, relatively standard, feel management is trying a lot with food, tap water is not very good, feel some weird taste, apparently it's tap water, don't know how well filtered. Pools were not very clean, we all( me, being 36 weeks pregnant, my husband and my step son - we all got gastroenteritis next morning after spending a 1,5 days there and I'm blaming water in the pool, it was rough for all of us). We rented a private villa and we were expecting it will be a bit newer for its money. It's in need of renovation already. And there is an old smell of cigarette smoke mixed with cleaning detergents. Old smell of sigaretts on the furniture because it's old, not because it's not cleaned Make sure you're fine with stairs, on your walk from the main level with reception, restaurant ect till the sea. The area is well maintained, clean, nice, lots if plants and flowers, lots of programs for entertainment.

Resort is in a beautiful place, the beach was very nice, the sea is shallow, but the bottom is rocky, so I would recommend boots into the water. There are plenty of nice beaches around, more suitable for swimming especially for smaller kids due to waves. The Staff was very nice and helpful. They were always smiling. Rooms were decent and clean. Room service cleaned the room on a daily basis which is especially important due to narrow pipes for WC and the need to throw toilet paper into a bin. When we had an issue with a noise from another resort they were kind and helped us find another room. We were not particularly happy with the food. Meat was either dry or chewy. For breakfast there was a variety of jams, cereals for greek yogurt or cakes which were good. Sausages, ham, and cheese were tasteless. I was looking forward to tasting the fruits since many could be local but I was unpleasantly surprised. More tasteful nectary or bananas I could by in my country and we do not have such a favourable climate. Food was mostly the same, so after a few days it was hard to pick something. A bigger concern was hygiene in the restaurant. Tables were set with cutlery and you could bring the food and drinks. Problem was that "clean" plates were not always clean. People were putting dirty glasses among clean ones, so we had to repeatedly take another one. So partially the problem was the clients who put dirty stuff whenever they choose, but nobody seemed to care. But dirty plates coming straight from the kitchen are clearly the resort's fault. There was an outbreak of sickness. People were vomiting and had diarrhea including my family. It hit the resort pretty hard, and some people ended up in a hospital. Source of water was suspected but there was zero communication about it from the staff. From our delegate we found out that we should request bottled water. We are back home but 5 days of the holiday were ruined by it and we are still not feeling well.

Wrong start at the beginning, room was overbooked for the 1ste day. They helped us to the other hotel and we could still use the facilities of the hotel. Did get a compensation. Older staff was polite and friendly, the younger ones nah. Room was cleaned everyday, so no complaints. Nice pools and beach was ok. The Spa was excellent, gym was very basic. What made our stay, was the animationteam Great team, lots of activities and superb eveningshows. You can rent a car, in the hotel. Very quick fixed and nice person at the desk.

The fact that this hotel is a 5 star hotel is really a joke. Please do not book here if you value your time and money. Everyone at the reception is unnecessary rude. When we arrived a guy give us directions but no help getting the luggage on the second floor (without elevator). We asked for a quiet room, but every 2 days they do music shows in the bar until 23 that feels it is right in your room. They have rooms in the back but they said they are fully booked even if I find available rooms on booking.com for our dates. The rooms are very old, the blanket had a hole, one lamp didn't have the lamp shade, the roof of the balcony was leaking on the clothes left to dry, the door stopped working one day and took 30 min to fix. There is a huge power plant nearby that ruins the view of the beach and a bad small in the air if the winds blows from that direction. The people giving out beach towels are extremely rude, shouting to an old lady that didn't put the old towels all the way in the bag. Greek a la carte restaurant is nice. Breakfast is bland, juices are horrible, food quality in general is very low, croissant are instead nice. Most of beach lounges are extremely old, dirty and broken. Nothing within walking distance. There is a bus stop outside that bring you to the city center.

It would be much better to offer fewer items but of good quality. -There were some rather unexpected extra charges for things like using the in-room safe, which were ridiculous. Also, the steep "Climate tax" of 15 Euro per night wasn't helping. Especially since the Hotel in general has a very run-down vibe, requiring renovation and better maintenance to reach the promised 5 stars feel.

We are currently staying here at this Hotel and so far it is amazing. The staff are very friendly, the food is good and the room we're staying at was very clean when we arrived. Yes, it is a bit outdated, but we rather have an outdated clean room, than a modern and filthy one. Highly recommend the all inclusive package. Keep up the good work 😀👍 Little update: Today my girlfriend and I had an appointment for a peeling an a cretan full body massage. It was so relaxing, we almost fell asleep. Also the pain in my neck (been dealing with it for quite a while) is gone completely now. I can't understand the comments about french guests that get more friendly treatment. We are from germany and still we haven't had any bad encounters with staff members. And to the people who complain about the power plant nearby: there is something called google maps. You can look where the hotel is located 😉

Lovely holiday, its a very nice resort, rooms were clean, food was delicious, beautiful clear sea although it is a little bit colder as there is a stream coming in from the mountains but you could feel it only in the morning. Also the animators group were fantastic especially Mario! There is a power station near by but honestly we could not hear anything and apart from the visual sight from the beach there is nothing to worry about. Great place for families with children. The cleaning ladies were absolutely amazing. They always cleaned everything in the room very nicely and were also very friendly and kind. The restaurants (Italian, Greek & Vegan) were all amazing as well. I'd only change the pool temperature, because it was pretty cold.

We have just return from a fantastic week at Kiani beach resort! We were a group of 4 adults and everyone was pleased with our holiday. The staff are very friendly and helpful, no matter the time day they’re always happy to help. The resort is very disabled friendly, with ramps and lifts everywhere, my partner managed everything. The food was incredible! Everything was delicious and fresh and the menu changes everyday in each restaurant. The bar staff at the pool and beach bars were friendly and would make you any drink you wanted (or just help you pour a beer from the tap). The entertainment team were fantastic and so was the entertainment every evening!! Our rooms were clean and spacious and the staff did a brilliant job tidying them everyday. The whole resort was very clean and the staff did a great job making sure it stayed like that. We would highly recommend Kiani Beach Resort for anyone who wants to visit Kalyves. A big thank you to everyone there who made our holiday amazing! We’re already looking to book for next year!

We stayed at Kiani Beach Resort for 2 weeks in August. Pros: the location of the resort directly on the beach, 2 outdoor pools and sunbeds always available for all guests, even when arriving later in the morning. The beach is beautiful with clear water, perfect to enjoy the sea. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, especially members of the animation team. The quality and variety of the food is overall good. Ideal for families with children. Cons: standard all inclusive could be better when it comes to drinks. Only a few cocktails were included with all classical cocktails reserved to all inclusive plus (not even a Mojito or a Spritz were included in the standard formula). Coffee was not good from any of the many machines for standard all inclusive - only plus members could request better coffee at the bar. Soft drinks were also low quality, with no original Coca Cola or Pepsi or others. All activities finish by 22h, would be nice if the program could last at least one additional hour. Rating the service 3 as once we found a metallic small item in the food. It was very exceptional as it happened only once, bit when mentioning to the staff, nothing was done about it, not even an apology.

Restaurant 3 is the one that has a theme each night, so something for everyone. (Not the same food each night like a lot of all inclusives). My boyfriend and I weren't guests in the hotel, but we booked a couples massage. It was a fabulous experience! We called in the morning and we're lucky to get an appointment 1 hour later. The Spa staff is super friendly and helpful. The facility is relaxing and calming. It was by far the best massage I've ever had! The massage bed was super comfy (I usually start being uncomfortable around my face after 30min, but not this time!). The music was just super relaxing and the massage itself hit all the right spots! Finally someone that got all the knots out in my shoulder area while still being gentle. We had an amazing time and can highly recommend. Thank you! :)

Not a true 5⭐️ experience I’m honestly not sure how this resort is rated as 5-star. The food was repetitive and quite underwhelming, with very little variety over our 9-day stay. Unfortunately, both my mom and I became ill with food poisoning during our stay, and we spoke with several other guests who were also sick around the same time. When we reported it, the staff denied it could’ve happened at the resort, which was disappointing. The drinks in the basic all-inclusive package were another letdown. The house wine was not enjoyable, and cocktails like margaritas or piña coladas were only available with the “premium” package for an extra €20 a day — which felt excessive for a supposed 5-star all-inclusive. Another concern was that the resort advertises a 24/7 on-call doctor, but when we contacted the front desk at 3am while unwell, we were told no doctor was available and to go to the hospital. That’s quite misleading and worrying for travelers in a foreign country. Entertainment was minimal and not particularly engaging. On a positive note, our room and view were beautiful, and the housekeeping and front desk staff were lovely. The location was also great — convenient for exploring different parts of the island — and having car rental available on-site was a big plus. The pools were nice and it was a very child friendly resort.

This is a truly 5 start hotel. The service! The service is fantastic, all the staff were extremely nice, at breakfast to be greeted with the big smile of the star of breakfast Mr. Iannis! Such a nice gentleman! And positive man! The hotel itself was absolutely amazing, beautiful hotel and great pool, the lobby and entrance looks like it was taken from a movie. We got complementary upgrade to the family suit with a balcony. We didn’t know what to do with all the space it was amazing. They greeted us in the room with champagne and candy to celebrate with us! That is above and beyond everything I ever experienced from a hotel service! The beach itself is very clean and easy to get to just 1 minute walk from the pool. We recommend to walk on the beach all the way to old town, it is long walk, around an hour, but the beaches along the way are so beautiful that it feels less time and very enjoyable. The breakfast was fantastic, so much options and it was all tasty, I took 2 plates and left nothing haha. Finally I want to thank the staff of this hotel for their great smile and generosity. Will definitely come back giving the chance!

A year ago we were in Greece and rested in a Grecotel chain hotel, which we really liked. We decided to go on vacation again this year, we chose the Grecotel Creta Palace of this chain and were very disappointed. The hotel hardly corresponds to 5 stars. The rooms are already asking for renovation, when choosing a package - all inclusive, it turns out that it is not all inclusive, you have to watch the menu, whether it is yours or not. And the most shocking thing was the BUGS in the room, but the receptionist's reaction was so calm, so we are probably not the first or last to contact them with such a problem. I think it is really not worth its price and quality of service.

We had the opportunity to stay in this wonderful hotel and enjoy all the amenities it offers! We visited the massage spa which relaxed us very much! I recommend doing the facial treatment which offers a 15 head massage and the result is perfect!!!!!!You will see a beautiful face after this ❤️ Then we went to the beach bar and tried seafood, the food was very nice and the service was very good!!!! Then, the beautiful Skybar where we enjoyed Asian cuisine with our favorite Sushi!!!🍣! Perfect dishes, delicious and finally the wonderful cocktails!!!!!🍸! The next day we had breakfast in their wonderful space in a beautiful garden! The breakfast consists of excellent choices of fruits, vegetables, English breakfast, sweets and of course drinks, juices of all kinds as well as very nice coffee!!!! For anyone who wants to go on vacation but even for a two-day relaxation it is the ideal choice! 5 stars from the bottom of my heart 🥰

We arrived at the hotel 2nd September for a 14 night stay. The reception staff gave us a warm and friendly welcome. It is worth upgrading to a Seaview Room especially on the top floor. On entering the room we were so happy it was fabulous it was kept to a high standard of cleanliness by the lovely house keepers. Restaurant hostess were lovely & friendly. The all-inclusive food was presented well and tasted great so much choice ( compliments to the chef for the stunning Mousaaka ). At breakfast & lunch we were served by Emmanuela she was so friendly as if we had known her for ages. The evening we always went to George he was lovely ( forgot to give me some Olive Oil to take home ) 🤣 The bar staff worked really hard we never waited long for a drink. Elli was so lovely with a beautiful smile. Evening entertainment was great. Chloe. Joanne & Alessandro worked really hard keeping on top of their schedual. Pool area and beach was kept clean with staff keeping us hydrated. We chose this Hotel so that we could relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings after a tough few years being diagnosed with breast cancer 🩷. Well done to all staff for making our holiday a memorable one. Xx 🫶

We had a great time at the hotel! From the first moment we felt welcome, especially with the welcome drink that was a very beautiful touch! The staff are polite and always willing to help. Well done to Fotini from the bar always friendly and helpful to make our coffee. The only downside is with the rooms, which, though beautifully decorated, do not have enough room for storing clothes and personal items. I would also prefer to have a slightly larger variety of foods in the buffet.

Extremely Disappointing Stay, Definitely Not a 5-Star Experience We stayed at this resort expecting a relaxing, high-quality all-inclusive holiday, but it turned out to be one of the most disappointing experiences we’ve ever had. The food was repetitive every single day, with no variety or freshness, and we both suffered stomach pains during our stay. Room fridge was never restocked. The à la carte restaurant was also awful — meals were poorly cooked, served cold, and tasted bland. To make matters worse, there was a wine list placed on the table with bottles starting from €30, which is completely unacceptable for an all-inclusive resort. There is no direct access to the beach, which was very inconvenient and misleading. On the beach, there are only about 20 free sunbeds, and if you want to sit anywhere else, you have to pay extra per person. The pool was very cold, making it difficult to enjoy. The rooms were not properly cleaned; we even found towels belonging to the cleaners left in our room. The overall atmosphere was uncomfortable, as we often felt like we were being watched whenever we ordered drinks. The bar situation was terrible. The main bar only opens at 17:30, so during the day you have to go to the pool bar, where drinks are served in thin plastic cups that start disintegrating after about 20 minutes. The hotel advertises that the main bar is open until 01:00, but when we went at 00:00, we were told they had stopped serving unless we paid €20, which is completely unacceptable for an all-inclusive resort. There was no proper cocktail menu, and the cocktails they did serve were extremely strong and unpleasant. They also don’t offer branded drinks such as Jack Daniel’s, Gordon’s, or Captain Morgan — everything is cheap, low-quality local alcohol. Parking was another problem. There was no space in the hotel’s parking area, and the reception told us to park outside. The next morning, our car mirror had been damaged by another vehicle, which the hotel took no responsibility for. Entertainment was non-existent — the hotel mainly caters to an older crowd and offers no amusement facilities or activities. The atmosphere is dull, and there’s nothing to do in the evenings. Considering the amount of money we spent, the overall experience was far below expectations. Poor food, low-quality drinks, bad service, and no entertainment make this resort nowhere near 5-star quality. We rate it 2/10 and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a proper all-inclusive experience.

We spent a wonderful vacation in Greece, on the island of Crete, and we were absolutely delighted with our choice of hotel. The peaceful surroundings, spotless cleanliness, and the varied and delicious food made our stay truly enjoyable. One of the biggest highlights was the warm welcome we received upon arrival. We would especially like to thank Paula, an exceptional receptionist who speaks Romanian and made us feel right at home. She gave us detailed information about our stay, personally walked us to the restaurant for breakfast—even though we arrived before the official breakfast time—and arranged for us to check in early. We were pleasantly surprised to be given a spacious, bright, and very clean room with a beautiful sea view. Paula impressed us with her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail. She is undoubtedly a special presence at the front desk and adds greatly to the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. We wholeheartedly recommend this place and will definitely return!

He personally took care of our Jewish dietary needs, preparing delicious meals with great attention to detail and kindness. The food throughout our stay was exceptional — fresh, varied, and full of authentic flavor. It’s rare to find such personalized service, and it made all the difference. The hotel itself may be a little bit older, but it is beautifully maintained, clean, and very comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the facilities — especially the spa — are excellent. We enjoyed wonderful treatments and felt completely rejuvenated. Overall, Bella Beach Hotel exceeded our expectations. The combination of excellent service, outstanding food, and thoughtful attention to every detail made this one of our best vacations. We had a great time at this place. Wonderful food, beautiful hospitality, and great vibes everywhere. We spent nice evenings at the bar, enjoying the free cocktails and live music, and during the days we enjoyed the beach, the swimming pool, and all the activities the resort offers and there are lots of them. I also have great appreciation for the lifeguards because when my mother was a little bit stressed in the water three lifeguards were at our side in a heartbeat. One on a jet ski and two others came swimming. I highly recommend this resort for anyone: young couples (there were many at the place), young families, and larger families. Thank you Antonia, Chef Petrus, Yulia, and all the lovely team of the Bella beach hotel.

The hotel boasts an exceptional location, directly on the beach and surrounded by prestigious 5-star resorts along the coast. The facilities are impressive, and the level of service is truly outstanding—well deserving of a 5-star rating. The dining experience is excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and plentiful options that cater to every taste. Our family always found something satisfying, no matter the time of day. The rooms, while clean and well-maintained, do feel somewhat outdated in terms of furniture. That said, housekeeping ensures a very high standard: towels and bed linens are changed daily, and fresh water is always provided in the room, which is a thoughtful touch worthy of praise. Traveling with a 14-year-old, we were particularly pleased with the range of sports activities available, which kept him entertained throughout our stay. Even as a selective eater, he thoroughly enjoyed the food selection. Overall, our experience was excellent, and we would highly recommend this hotel for its location, service, and family-friendly atmosphere

The approach of the hotel to the menu is unusual as if you have all inclusive, you still have to pay for the beverages and getting a glass of water or a coffee is quite expensive, so we had to have parties separately in our rooms… however the location is great and my family enjoyed swimming in the sea 🌊 and Greece 🇬🇷 is proudly Orthodox which we enjoyed

We had a really great experience during our week-long stay. It's a fantastic hotel with a great beach and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was a highlight—there's a lot to choose from, and you can even get a custom-made omelette. The view from the breakfast area is also beautiful. It’s a plus that there are a few pools to use when you're tired of the sea. The staff was very nice and welcoming. My only issue was that our room floors were constantly sandy, which made me feel they weren't being cleaned properly. While the hotel has a few restaurants, I recommend only getting breakfast there and eating out for other meals. There are so many great places to eat nearby that you won’t want to miss!

Unfortunately, this hotel didn’t quite live up to expectations. Housekeeping was hit-or-miss (our bin full of baby diapers wasn’t emptied even after asking at reception), the “double bed” was just two singles drifting apart, and the baby cot came with a folded adult sheet that turned into a nightly wrestling match. The AC glowed like a night lamp, and with no elevator in the main building, carrying a stroller up the stairs felt like part of the daily workout. Food was the biggest disappointment. For vegetarians, the choice was poor – salads often came with surprise ham or fish, and protein was scarce. Desserts and breakfast pastries tasted cheap and artificial, juices were basically liquid candy, and croissants only made sense if you’ve never actually had a croissant. The only good dinner we had was at La Oliva, the à la carte option. To add to the chaos, the restaurants and bars sit right next to each other, blasting different music at the same time – imagine trying to enjoy your meal while stuck between two competing DJs. The gym lacked mats and weights, the “welcome fruit plate” never appeared, and the free spa massage for new guests was something we only learned about by accident. At the pool, sunbeds were “reserved” with towels already in the morning while their owners were still at breakfast, and the hotel didn’t enforce its own rules. The kids’ pool had a great shaded spot, but most of the water attractions didn’t work, and for some reason the water there was the coldest in the entire resort. On the bright side, the staff were incredibly kind and always smiling (even though they seemed to work from sunrise to sunset), the sea in front of the hotel was beautifully clean and the watermelon was consistently sweet and delicious. But here’s the kicker: the price. This place is marketed and priced like a 5-star resort, but in reality it’s closer to a 3-star with an attitude. If the stay had cost half as much, I’d chalk it up as “you get what you pay for.” But at these rates, the glossy 5-star label feels more like a punchline than a promise.

First of all this is not a 5 star hotel, at best 3 stars. Our room had black mould all over the walls, totally unacceptable. No 5 star hotel in 2025 serves Nescafé coffee.Food quality again not 5 star. Staff extremely nice.House keeping not great. But overall experience was nowhere near upto standard of 5 star hotel.

Great location with plenty places to eat out of you want a change from the buffet dinner/lunch. The buffet changes each night to a different theme, really nice food. Our room was nice (423) with 2 small balconies and air con in the bedroom and living space. Service in the hotel was great, really friendly staff and the whole resort is kept nice and clean. A 15 mins walk to the beach but probably a 25 min walk back for to the hill. 2 pools, one for adults only and one for families. Visiting in Oct meant plenty sunbeds available but I'd imagine in peak times they might be limited. Lovely place, would come back.

“Fantastic stay!” Beautiful hotel. The staff were all very welcoming. Maria from reception did her upmost in helping to keep our spirits high after we lost one of our bags during our airport transfer. Panos from the bar & restaurant team truly made our holiday, he went above and beyond for us throughout our whole stay providing us with both friendly and professional service……a great character with a warm heart. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. The food although repetitive at times was very tasty. We were disappointed in having to pay extra (although all inclusive ) for the afternoons snack bar menu. Definitely do your research on this hotels location before booking as it might not suit if you have any mobility issues. I have MS and although requested for a ground floor room and used the hotels lift where possible I did struggle on some of the days. We struggled to find a free sun bed by either of the pools. Hired a scooter for 30€ a day which was definitely worth it so ended up discovering the local beaches instead. It was our first time in Crete and although Koutouloufari was beautiful I think we’ll visit Chania next time.

Posting this while we're still here. We absolutely love the place. The room is very nice and spacious and kept immaculate by the cleaning staff. Service at breakfast time is great and there's a nice selection of food that is fresh, well prepared and tasty. The facilities are fantastic and there's a nice relaxing atmosphere and a touch of class about the place. The only minor negative I could mention is the woman coming round trying to sell spa treatments. I can understand being asked the once, and while she's pleasant enough, it gets awkward repeatedly saying no. I'll be sorry to leave though and would happily recommend the place to anyone wanting a relaxing time

We had a lovely stay at Esperides Resort. Our room was stylish and comfortable. Nothing major to note, but we were really pleased with it overall. There was the occasional ‘eggy’ smell from the bathroom, and we did come across one cockroach during our stay, but these were small blips in an otherwise pleasant experience. A standout moment was receiving a bottle of champagne and a plate of chocolates and fruit in our room for our anniversary, a thoughtful touch that made our stay feel special. We only booked bed and breakfast but found the food to be great. There was a good variety. Hot/fried options, fruit, cereal, toast, pastries, meats, and cheeses and the restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. The resort’s layout and design are beautiful, with lots of different levels and an open, airy feel. The bar was lovely too, we personally found it more relaxing when there wasn’t entertainment on, but that’s just down to taste. We mainly stayed at the adults-only pool, which was quiet and perfect for us. The water was cold (certainly not heated) but refreshing in the heat. The main pool was much livelier, so we preferred the more relaxed vibe of the adults-only area. One thing we really appreciated was the hotel’s car rental service. It was fairly priced and really straightforward. We just spoke to reception the day before, and it was all easily arranged. The location is great too. There’s a little village a 2-minute walk away with plenty of good places to eat (where we ate most nights) and a lovely waterfront town about 15 minutes away on foot. On the day we checked out, we were impressed with how accommodating the resort was. Even after leaving our room, we were still free to use all the facilities, which made a big difference as we had a very late flight. They even have a designated room with showers and changing space for guests who’ve already checked out, such a thoughtful and convenient touch that allowed us to relax and enjoy the day without feeling rushed. Staff at the resort were friendly and always greeted us with a smile and a joke as we passed by. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We’d happily return!

The rest of the staff were also amazing very attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout our stay I definitely recommend booking a room with a private pool and choosing the half board option Breakfast was the same every day, but dinner had a different theme each night (Mexican, Cretan, Mediterranean, etc.) which was a nice touch!

Honestly, some of the best service I have ever experienced. From the big things to the tiny details, this hotel gives 100 percent in every aspect. My partner and I stayed for a week and it was absolutely amazing. We did not book an all inclusive package which meant we could enjoy both the buffet and the on-site à la carte restaurant. Both were excellent with consistently top-tier service. The hotel has a private beach where you can order drinks straight to your lounger. There is a lovely spa plus indoor and outdoor gyms. The guest relations team made everything effortless and booked our excursions for us, including a tour of Knossos Palace and a day trip to Santorini, which saved us the hassle of sorting it ourselves. Every member of staff we met was wonderful. Special thanks to Sparticus on front desk (nights) who went above and beyond by driving my partner to a local shop when our chargers stopped working. I could not recommend this hotel more. A complete treat from start to finish!

We arrived very late at night but still received a warm and friendly welcome. As we had missed dinner, the hotel had even arranged some food in our room, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything about our stay was perfect – the room was spotless with daily cleaning, and the pool area was tidy, peaceful, and very relaxing. Seen comments no space for clothes but there are shelves and drawers so we had no issue to fit in. The staff worked incredibly hard and always went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. They really do everything from car rental to late check out. I also treated myself to a massage, which was absolutely amazing and exactly what I needed. I’d seen some reviews mentioning the food, but I have to say I was really impressed. Even with my sensitive stomach and dietary needs, I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Greek cuisine with no issues at all – something I’m very grateful for. Another highlight for me were the little kittens and cats around the hotel; they were adorable and definitely stole the show at breakfast time. I also loved that the hotel has it's own beach. Honestly, I cannot think of a single thing I didn’t like during our stay. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and I would love to return.Thank you again ❤️

Beautiful, quiet hotel with direct beach access-sea shoes are recommended. The staff were incredibly kind, and breakfast was excellent, blending European and local flavors. Loved the spa, indoor pool, and outdoor gym. Great location, just 40 minutes from Chania. It’s mainly for quiet relaxation, I only wish there were some activities like yoga, but it’s still a wonderful place. Everything, including my birthday celebration, was perfect. We’ll definitely return!

There was a small inconvenience with our room, but the staff handled it with grace—they kindly upgraded our stay to full board, which included delicious meals throughout our visit. The food was consistently fresh and flavorful, and the service was wonderful. The beach is the true highlight—calm, clean, and serene. It’s the perfect place to unwind and soak up the beauty of the surroundings. The spa was another standout; the masseuses are incredibly skilled and left us feeling completely restored. All of the staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We honestly had the best holiday ever here. The hotel is huge and beautifully designed, it feels super luxurious but still warm and welcoming. We even got an unexpected upgrade to a room with a private pool, which honestly made the entire trip for us. The room itself was spacious, and the terrace with the pool was just perfect to soak up the sun all day. There’s also an indoor pool and a gym you can reserve for yourself, which was such a nice touch, no crowds, just peace and quiet whenever you want. Also they host a show every day at one of the three hotels. We attended the fire&light show and the South African band, which were both incredible. But honestly, the staff was my absolute favorite part of the whole stay. Everyone was so kind and genuinely made us feel at home. We arrived very late around 10-11pm and they expected us with something to eat and drinks on the house. By day two, they already knew our coffee order and just brought it to us at breakfast without us even asking. They really took the time to get to know us, we had so many lovely and personal conversations. I’m truly gonna miss them and we already can’t wait to come back next year!

From arrival at the hotel right through to departure, everything was excellent. We spent a week at the hotel and spa which was always a clean and pleasant place to return to after a day exploring the island of Crete. Staff were excellent particularly Mariana whose eye for detail was great and the food service staff ( who recalled what our preference was for breakfast ). The hotel entertainment was a bonus , run by a very enthusiastic gentleman with a good music playing and willingness to play requests which allows those who wish to dance a good experience. The hotel grounds and pool are well maintained and very tidy with views of the church and mountains beyond. Comfortable room with good bed and plenty of space made the stay great. Top marks

We were a family of 4, stayed end of Sep. Hotel amenities, vegetation, cleanliness - all good. Rooms - outdated, very awkward (narrow) design, need to close door to open the wardrobe. 3/5 Food - lots of it, but I did not eat anything tasty from my pov. Medium to okish, they can certainly improve here. For me, food is 2.5-3 stars out of 5. All staff was nice, especially bartender Salvatore. 5/5 Animation - team seemed a little bit not motivated ? Maybe my impression. Waterpark - nice slides, but the joints are horrible made (like in ‘80s) - the back hurts afterwards. 3/5 Beach - sand is nice, but entrance to water has big rocks almost everywhere. Water is not that crystal blue sea, but much more darker. 3/5 Activity sport center next to hotel was great, has so many ball sports available.

Beautiful hotel inside and out. Rooms are modern with blackout curtains, slippers, and robes, although aircon be colder. Food is plentiful, so much variety and quality. It is a shame there isn't one restaurant with table service opposed to buffet. Suggested improvements would be to serve beer in a pint glass and cocktails during the day at all bars not just one as it's a long way to keep walking to the 'pool bar' if you are at the beach or circle pool etc. These improvements would warrant a 5 star review

We stayed at Lyttos Beach Hotel as a family of four adults and one infant for 7 nights, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was superb, with a wide variety of options available at every meal. There are three main restaurants to choose from, plus one special restaurant available once per stay (one another was closed during our visit). The hotel offers several bars that serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day. The complex also features a water park, a kids' playground, and a club for small children — perfect for families. The beach is right at the hotel and is well equipped with plenty of deckchairs and sun umbrellas. What truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional service. From the animation team and chefs to the front desk staff, everyone was friendly, professional, and eager to help. We had an issue with our original room (1208), and the staff handled it with great care. We were first offered a villa at no extra cost, but declined as it was too far from the main facilities given we were traveling with a small child. Instead, we were given a different room and a fair compensation. A special thanks to Michalis from the front desk, who was incredibly helpful and understanding throughout our stay — and even welcomed us back almost like old friends when we unexpectedly returned due to a canceled flight caused by bad weather. Highly recommend this hotel for families looking for comfort, fun, and outstanding service.

The atmosphere is so relaxed, the food was lovely the speciality restaurants are a must to visit, we ate at the Italian and the Greek ones, we enjoyed them so much we ate a 2nd time at both. We paid €2160 for our holiday at this 5-star resort. Unfortunately, our first impression was very disappointing. We arrived late at night, around 10 PM, and were given a room that smelled strongly of dust and mold, more like a 1-star room. With a 1 year and 3 months old baby, it was very difficult to spend the night there. The next morning, we went to the reception to ask for a change. At first, we were told to wait until 11 AM, and then again that no other rooms were available until the next day. With three families and small children, this was unacceptable. After insisting firmly, we finally managed to get different rooms. However, the attitude of the receptionist was unprofessional—he even raised his voice and told us we had booked the cheapest rooms, which was not what we expected from a 5-star hotel. The accommodation facilities definitely feel old and in need of renovation. On the positive side, the food was truly exceptional, and the chefs were outstanding. The restaurant staff was kind, attentive, and always ready to prepare special meals for our child with lactose and gluten intolerance. The beach was beautiful, with amazing views, lots of greenery, and everything was very clean. The housekeeping ladies were also very sweet and helpful. Overall, the resort has wonderful potential thanks to its location, food, and staff in the restaurant, but the rooms and reception service need major improvement.

We were generally very pleased with our stay at Out of the Blue Resort in Crete. We were kindly upgraded to an en-suite room with a shared private pool and a secluded garden with loungers. The suite was very spacious, beautifully designed, and the housekeeping was excellent. Customer service was good, and it was easy to book à la carte restaurants. The ladies at guest services did their best to assist with reservations, and each restaurant offered a unique design, a balanced menu, and attentive service. The kids’ club facilities were also very impressive. Our 2-year-old loved the kids’ disco, but the volume was often higher than comfortable for children, and staff didn’t adjust it despite parents’ requests. Entertainment, however, felt a bit underdeveloped and was not available every day. On the positive side, the spa is highly recommended, and the resort is a wonderful place to unwind. Yoga lessons were enjoyable, though offered only three times a week and scheduled at 8 am, which unfortunately coincided with breakfast time. The beach is not the strongest point: the public sandy beach is quite narrow and lacks facilities, while the private beach has good facilities and a nice bar/restaurant for lunch but no sand (although the water was very clean). My only real complaint is that hot drinks like coffee and tea were not included at lunch and dinner in the buffet restaurant — surprising for an all-inclusive resort. Also, the landscape is quite hilly; although golf cart service is available, it can be hard to get one at busy check-in/check-out times, and waiting can take much longer than the 5–10 minutes promised. Walking is often faster, but those with mobility issues should be prepared for delays. Overall, this is a beautiful resort with excellent service, impressive facilities, and plenty of opportunities to relax, with just a few areas that could be improved.

We chose this hotel because of its beautiful natural surroundings and great location – which turned out to be the only truly positive aspect of the entire stay. Unfortunately, everything else was a major disappointment. The hotel advertises itself as a 5-star property, but in reality, it doesn’t meet even a 3-star standard. The photos online are misleading – they look nice but don’t reflect the actual condition of the place. For this reason, we are attaching real photos showing the true state of the hotel. ⸻ 🧼 Cleanliness and Room Maintenance: • Floors were mopped daily, but only superficially – even on the first day, our socks turned black after just 5 minutes. • Sinks and bathroom fixtures were cleaned only on the surface. • The toilet seat in our room was broken. • Shower gel and shampoo were not refilled until we disassembled the dispensers ourselves. Only then, upon request, were they replenished by housekeeping. • Mirrors in the room were rusty and unmaintained. • The minibar was not restocked daily, contrary to what the tour operator claimed. It was only done upon guest request. ⸻ 🚽 Public Toilets: • Toilets near the main restaurant were in poor, dirty, and partly rusted condition. • The gym toilet was in terrible shape – basically just an unfinished wall and no usable mirror. • Beach toilets were in extremely unsanitary condition. ⸻ 🏖️ Pools, Surroundings, and Sunbeds: • Pools were unsanitary, with blackened walls, missing tiles, and general grime. • The kids’ pool was dirty and the painted surface was peeling. • Sunbeds were torn – some were completely unusable. ⸻ 👶 Children’s Entertainment: • The only activity for children after 6 p.m. was a short 30-minute mini disco. • After 6 p.m., there were no activities for kids at all. Pools with slides closed at 5:45 p.m., and the playroom and other facilities were also shut down by 6 p.m. ⸻ 🍽️ Food: • The food was decent, but extremely repetitive – the same choices every day, which became boring quickly. ⸻ 💶 Extra Charges: • We were not informed in advance about additional charges. • Upon arrival, we were required to pay €35 per person, including for a 4-year-old child, which seemed unreasonable. ⸻ 📸 Conclusion: This hotel does not meet the standards of a 5-star resort. The maintenance of both outdoor and indoor areas is clearly lacking, with many facilities left damaged or neglected – and in some cases, even unsafe. Beautiful nature and good weather were the only redeeming factors – but you can find that even in a more modest, cheaper hotel without the misleading 5★ label. We are attaching real photos so that other travelers know what to expect.

We had the most wonderful vacation in years! The hotel is spotless and well-organized, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel very welcome. Our room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided every day. The food was excellent – delicious, varied, and plentiful. Even though the hotel had many guests, the restaurant never felt crowded and the service from the waiters was consistently high-quality. The beach was also very clean and peaceful. Overall, we couldn’t find a single flaw. A truly wonderful place – highly recommended!

Staff were super friendly and went above and beyond. Hotel was modern, big and had lots of pools. Rooms were clean and fresh. Restraunt for all inclusive was lovely! Views were also great looking onto beach while eating. Would definitely recommend. The only things to improve would be that by 9am all sunbeds was taken. I think staff should go around and remove towels from reserved beds. You could only use the pool bar to get all inclusive drinks. It would’ve been better if you could use the other bars part of all inclusive. Overall great stay and would definitely recommend!

Total disappointed - definitively not a 5*... maybe maximum 3*! A 5-star hotel should never present guests with walls in poor condition, peeling doors, broken tiles, or require maintenance work immediately after check-in. We fully paid for a 5-star service, but the comfort level experienced was closer to 3 stars. The location and the spa resort was great (but not free), but food and rooms details are not recommended. What disappointed us most was not only the condition of the room, but also the lack of a truly customer-oriented attitude from the management and reception team. If you are looking for a luxury 5* hotel to relax, Not recommended - RUN!

Staff was very strange during check-in. They tried to "offer" me another room at a nearby property taking me with a golf cart to another building of their about a 1/4 mile away. Apparently they have other buildings not connected to the main hotel and they want more people to stay at those locations since they are unknown however the way they conducted business was very fishy. They would go in the back multiple times to discuss things in private and come back and tell me something and then go back again. Furthermore, we were never notified that the sunbeds directly behind the hotel were pay per use which I would have had no issue with had I known. On the 1st day of using them, I was approached by a man with a credit card machine after laying the sunbed for a 2 hours and still using it and was told I owe him 7.50 Euro per bed and I asked him why and he said it was their policy. I informed him that no one told us and he said it was on the sign near the beach hut area, I looked and there was no sign at all. I paid him but it was a very unneccessary experience and the weird thing is he only charged 1/3 of the guests. He would do a row or two of sunbeds then leave back to the hut. Then there were the random hotel workers asking to give you a massage but do not understand the word No. My friend who booked his own room with them told them multiple times No but one of them proceeded to touch him and start massaging his foot. Very unprofessional. Definitely NOT 5 Stars

My family and I (2 kids under 10) stayed at Porto Platanias beach resort over Easter and it was fantastic! Highly recommend. All the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food was delicious for any meal and snacks were great by the pool too for All inclusive. We have some food allergies in the family and they were accommodating and helpful to be sure we had all we needed. The Amination team (Martin, Teddy, and Stan) were incredible. They were always very friendly, funny, and willing to play games (darts, shuffleboard, bocca, table tennis, stretching) with us and the kids both during the day and in the evening. We all give them 110% rating. We would definitely come back just to have this great crew. Another shout out to George who was a great bartender with lots of tasty drinks, drink ideas, and was nice to chat with. Lastly we were able to pay extra for an Easter lunch. It was very delicious, a bit crazy when everyone got food so possibly under staffed but still a nice experience and great entertainment. Overall, it was a great vacation with nice day trips for everyone. The town has all you need in walking distance too.

House wines not really great, but good choice of other drinks, both with and without alcohol. A bit too few sun loungers. A bit out of town, something like 30 minutes walk. Absolutely amazing views from pool and dining areas.

The hotel was lovely, with an incredible view. However, we paid for a double, and we got a twin. The rooms could do with a bit of an update. The material was broken on the chairs, and the mesh blind. The bedding is old and had dirty patches. Also, I wouldn't advise staying here if you struggle with walking as it's on a very steep hill, that you have to walk up with your luggage. You can get taxis to the door, though. There isn't much around either, so if you're happy to chill by the pool with delicious food, then this is your hotel.

This place was wonderful especially if you just want to relax. You will need a car or get taxis (cash only) to get around. The restaurant and pool bar have great food and service, so no reason to leave the premises. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. The rooms are spotless. The pool area was astounding. Plenty of room. Not crowded. Lunch and drinks available all day. Views over the water were wonderful to stare at all day/night long. Highly recommend

Steep hill to reception but would have been met by staff if we had realized there was a phone to call at the bottom of the bank, as arrival was early hours . Greeted by a lovely lad who was friendly and helpful food offered on arrival but were keen to get to room . Room was standard nothing special but clean, bottle of water in fridge but anymore had to be bought from the bar also kettle and tea and coffee in room .rooms cleaned daily if u wished and replacement towels .Asked for milk during the week but were told will see what we can do but never got any. Views were amazing , seating area some furniture was tired and needed replacing. Staff were lovely. Food wasn't great for us and twice food was undercooked. On leaving handing the key over to the lady on reception we were expecting her to say , "have you had a nice holiday?" but were greeted with "have you paid your room tax?" Hotel 4 star but we would question this . Definitely for those who are fit and able with the location.

Great Hotel exceptional service the main restaurant was one of the best I have been too for an all inclusive. No doggy stomach for the vacation. Selection preparation heat staff all top notch. If you wanted top shelf drink like Remy Martin Brandy there was an extra charge. But Jameson's and Johnny Walker was in the package. The Spa area is pure serenity. The room pool is more for a plunge at one meter deep. Their beach was amazing. The restaurant on the beach was great the staff took a little time to serve, but understandably considering the heat. All round Anemos was premium holiday.

Absolutely dream of.a resort. Location idyllic, variety and quality of food outstanding, service absolutely amazing. A special mention must go to the wonderful breakfast omelette chef, Maria, so lovely, friendly and talented too! Also the wonderful waiters, George and Stella at the buffet restaurant, so helpful and friendly. The guest service staff, all so friendly and helpful. Check in with Chrissalou ( sorry for spelling) was one of the most welcoming ever. 5 star all round! And our week has just started!

Very nice clean rooms perfect for us, rooms came straight out onto a small pool, and worked very well for our family - 6 adults and 6 children. Food was very nice, good selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks on the other hand were not really very nice unless you paid extra for them. A few things could be made better in our opinion, there was no where to hang towels after shower, only one mirror in the rooms, which is in the bathroom, could do with another, top up of tea, coffee sugar and milk could be more often as well as the “mini bar” as 4 bottles of water in 2 days is not enough. The bottles of “pop” also in the mini bar are really not very nice. 2 TVS but only 1 remote control and 2 air conditioner units and only 1 control, made it difficult over night to turn on or off air conditioning and TVS! Things that were lovely and perfect: The rooms were very clean and perfectly placed around the pool. The beds were so comfortable and pillows were like clouds. The shower was powerful and plenty of hot water. The wardrobe and cupboards were plentiful, 2 TVS in our rooms were a good option. Air conditioner worked very well! Pools were lovely and clean, slides were great, we all thoroughly enjoyed them! Ice cream options were amazing and always plentiful, the gyros and pizza were very tasty . Restaurant food was lovely many different options available and the desserts were to die for! All staff were happy, pleasant and very helpful especially the overnight porter! Overall a very pleasant happy holiday!

This was our second time staying at this hotel — a return visit that speaks for how much we love it here. To our surprise, the front desk staff recognized that we were returning guests and kindly upgraded us to a Family Room with Shared Pool. Such a thoughtful gesture! I highly recommend this room type: the mattress is very comfortable, the bathroom is clean and well-maintained, and the shower has great water pressure. The best part? The pool is just steps away from the terrace — absolutely perfect for a relaxing holiday. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Whether at the front desk, the bar, or housekeeping, every staff member was warm, polite, and professional. We truly had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

I had a really unpleasant stay, the choice of food is very limited and not terrible then the animations are that for children, for adults they make no effort and the animators spend their time flirting with girls and smoking instead of offering us activities, the rooms are pretty much clean just the beds are never made and the shower never cleaned there are hair and traces of makeup on the sink. everything is to be changed in this hotel I do not recommend it that it is for the animation which is bad and the management of the hotel

Okey, this is a 1 star hotel. Let's start. 1) We didn't get a map to the place, it was like "go that way, facilities are there, goodluck". 2) Room's room felt dirty and oily, even though it was supposed to be cleaned daily. Sheets were replaced. 3) A child got sick from the tap water, never drink water from the rooms' tap, use mineral water to brush your teeth. 4) The family rooms are in front of the pool, expect noise. They are low grade rooms. 5) Getting a towel to the pool, requires you to go to the spa, which is -1 level from the bar, every time a round trip to the spa to get new towels to the pool. 6) Food is mediocre at best, is pre heated. You do get pizzas and omelets made fresh in place. The desserts are just sugar with something every time, and everything is the same taste. I avoided meat due to the quality. 7) Getting a third key to the room required a managers approval. 8) Getting a taxi was 50 euros for a big taxi, 30 euros for a 4 people taxi. It is either a taxi or the hotels' van for about 10 minutes. (In Athens they take about 30 for a 40 minutes drive). 9) The beach is about 15 minutes walking, and unwelcoming. We went and returned. 10) The only good thing was the childrens' pool with the slides. 11) A la carte restaurants were fully booked on arrival, said there is no place. Asked on the last day, manager said it is overbooked as well. 12) Rooms are old and need a major refresh. 13) Outside our there was the small of stagnant water which smelled like sewage. 14) Playroom for children was without air conditioning, was hot and poor. Inland children amusement centers are far better quality. 15) There are plenty of 1 Euro playing machines in the restaurant, which sucks. 16) I had a bone in my chicken gyro from the quick restaurant by the pool. Pizzas were good though. I recommend to avoid this hotel, and I would skip Heraklion altogether. Sharm El Sheik in Egypt are far cheaper and offer a better quality. Couldn't describe how shitty this place is.

I had a bad stay at this hotel. It's not a 4-star hotel. The rooms are dirty and there's no housekeeping. The restaurant is repetitive, and what shocked me the most was the unprofessional entertainment. They allow themselves to judge the guests and speak badly. We were here last March for 10 nights, can't say its 5 star standards part of the hotel was closed due to its not been the busy season. And if you want to use steam room and zona you Have to book in advance and pay for it. We went half board breakfast and dinner. If you want water with your dinner which comes in bottle you have to pay. Drinks are bit pricey when you can get for half the price outside in a nice bar. Rooms get tidy up later than any other holiday we been so if you come to your room just after 12pm after a swim I found it annoying to wait for a fresh towels. You can request calling reception but still we had to wait for a while for it. Food wasn't up to 5 star standards sushi was a disaster, they repeat it another day still same. We stayed in urban city view with swimming pool, Rooms are good size bathroom good. Touch screen lights modern but getting up middle of the night to bathroom hard to find the light you end up switching the wrong light disturbing your partner. Cleaning staff nice, restaurant staff lovely with friendly service. Location good.

I returned from my stay at this hotel yesterday, the hotel was absolutely beautiful it was clean and I couldn’t fault how it looked. The staff were amazing! I’d like to give a special mention to Maria who was part of the restaurant staff she made sure we had plenty of drinks and was always so friendly. We had a room with a private plunge pool with a sea view it was lovely however it gets really cold as the sun was only on it for an hour in the morning and then it was in the shade. There was plenty of lovely sunbeds around the hotel and on the private beach however was almost impossible to get one around the main pool unless you were there waiting at 7:30 until they opened at 9. Overall my stay at this hotel was amazing and I would recommend!

We booked this stay via Jet2 and this hotel was listed as Jet2 Vibe and a vibe it is! We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival at the beautiful interior, the attentive service by all members of staff and the various options for food. No two nights were the same! The spa and the facilities were great. The ladies at the spa were wonderful and helped us feel immediately relaxed at the start and end of our stay. So good we booked twice! The choice of pools were great, our favourite was the rooftop pool overlooking the sea without the need for sandy feet! Special thanks to Nada in the restaurant, service felt personal. The hotel even sent a birthday cake to our room to celebrate my husband's birthday, which was such a lovely and unexpected surprise. Right in the middle of a highstreet with lots of options for food and gifts. Private beach where you really can always get a sunbed! We have already recommended this hotel to everyone we know! We had a wonderful stay at Mitsis Royal Mare! Check-in was smooth and the staff made us feel truly welcome, even surprising us with a birthday cake and wine. The room was always clean and comfortable. Anna at Alegria was amazing always smiling and even teaching us a few Greek words. Costa at the beach was fantastic, always there to help with a big smile, and Maria at the Delfina pool bar made every visit a joy with her warmth and friendliness. Staff at the beach bar were equally welcoming. The main restaurant accommodated us perfectly, and while some dishes at Royal Palm were a bit hit or miss, overall the à la carte dining was very enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back!

Exceptional hotel and staff in the main were excellent. Had a small issue with our room but was fixed quickly without asking. That’s a first! Well done to the team. Beds were very comfortable and we had a fan in the room as well as the air conditioning. Much better to have the fan on at night as it doesn’t create that dry humidity that an aircon does. Couple of improvements that could be made are, Toilets use an extremely large amount of water, not sure if that’s the design or not. A welcome drink explaining all the areas of the hotel would be a good touch, how to book restaurant etc. Have to say that the food was exceptional. Well done to the Mitsis team

Myself and my Husband had the most amazing time at Mitsis Royal Mare. On arriving late at night we were taken to our room to drop off the cases, then we went for a nightcap which was needed. In the morning we had to meet with the guest relations, due to my auto immune disease I can honestly say I was totally looked after at all meal times by the most caring and kind staff at all the restaurants and morning brunch. Afrodite was amazing she was kind caring and made our stay so relaxed and I didn’t have to worry about anything at meal times. Also the lovely Lenin was perfect in serving us at meals, Muhammad he was fantastic too. All the restaurant staff are a credit to the hotel. And we ate the most delicious food. The hotel is made from the kindest of all the restaurant staff. The only fault we had was the bed was comfortable but a bit small for us as used to super king size. 5 stars for Afrodite Linir Mohamed and the lovely lady from the Cosmos restaurant and she also served us at the top bar after she finished there., you all made a perfect stay for us. We had a wonderful all inclusive stay at the Mitsis royal Mare. The staff are extremely hard working, friendly and attentive, they really go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great time. The main restaurant has loads of options, all the food was delicious and fresh. We also really enjoyed the a la carte restaurants with our favourite being the Asian and the Italian. The cocktail menu is amazing , especially enjoyable in the rooftop bar. Two big pools to relax at during the day, with evening entertainment by the pool as well. The hotel has its own private beach, lovely clear water, be sure to pack aqua shoes as little rocky. There’s a beachside bar in too so you can enjoy refreshments at the beach. Overall we had a brilliant stay and we would definitely recommend.

The staff is friendly and helpful, they take time of their schedules to talk to you, ask about our holiday, the women working at the restaurant were so sweet and nice we literally wanted to hug them. Returned to vacation at Stella Palace after two years, the vacation as usual was perfect, we arrived 3 families with children who were in the water park all day. Always treats of ice cream and soft drinks around the pool. The dining room is large and luxurious, there is plenty to eat for everyone from adults to children. The water park is huge and there are facilities for everyone. The service from the reception staff and dining room staff was amazing! Always with a smile. Rooms always clean. Got back last week after a 7 day stay here. Family of four and we all had great relaxing time. Soon as reach resort greeted with smiles all round. Agapi who works at main restaurant was amazing with my kids that my smallest kid only wanted to eat at that restaurant so she can see her. Lucy and ruby at the kids club are fantastic. The facilities are excellent, and the food is of very high quality, special mention to the Elia and Almyra restaurants, which were outstanding. We recently celebrated my 40th birthday at Stella Palace with my family and our friends' family, and it was a truly fantastic experience. The hotel has a great atmosphere and is perfect for a group getaway. The kids, and the adults, loved the impressive water park. While the double tube floats were in short supply at times, it didn't stop us from having a blast. The dining was very good. The main dining room had a good variety of food, and the clear allergy signs on each dish made it easy for everyone to find something delicious and safe to eat. What really stood out was the incredible service from all the staff. They were so kind and helpful throughout our stay. The pool food staff were particularly great, handling a special food order for us with a smile. Stella Palace was the perfect place to celebrate a milestone birthday. Our stay in Crete was incredible. The resort is so picturesque. We even saw a couple getting married there, a true testament to how beautiful the backdrop is. The hotel is overall quite nice, but in my opinion a bit overpriced, and the price-performance ratio is not fully justified. Nevertheless, we were satisfied. Half a star is deducted for the room doors, as they are extremely thin and not soundproof, so you can hear everything in the hallway. Another half star is deducted for the beach chairs and umbrellas, as there are not many available, and if you arrive late you have to wait. The buffet is rather small but of good quality. For vegetarians it can get a bit boring. The staff is friendly and overall the hotel is good.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and would 100% recommend Crete and this seaside resort as an excellent place for couples wanting a beautiful place to travel in October time. The resort itself is amazing with great rooms, customer service, a gym, yoga/pilates studio, tennis court and more. The resort is situated a few minutes away from a beautiful beach that is easy for swimming but the resort has a variety of pools as well. We were really impressed by the quality of the all inclusive food but there are a la carte restaurants too. There is a restaurant called Caléa by Gerardo Mettawithin within the hotel which is a really special experience. We will remember our holiday here with fond memories, thank you!

We’ve just returned from a truly wonderful 6-night stay at Seaside A Lifestyle Resort in Crete and honestly, we’re already wishing we were back there with a cocktail in hand! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how spotlessly clean the resort was. Every corner of the grounds, pool areas, restaurants, and our room were immaculately maintained. It was clear that each space was cared for with great pride. Check-in was smooth and luxurious in the beautifully designed reception area. The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming, taking the time to explain everything we needed to know and providing a helpful map of the resort. The facilities were excellent whether relaxing by the pool on comfortable sun loungers, enjoying a drink at one of the bars, or exploring the other amenities, everything felt luxurious yet relaxed. Our room overlooked the sea, and it did not disappoint. Waking up to that stunning view each morning was truly special. A huge special thanks to Denys at the bar. Friendly, funny, and genuinely the best bartenders we’ve ever met. He went above and beyond all week, whether it was mixing up a sunset cocktail or bringing us an evening cappuccino (with style). Nothing was ever too much trouble for him. Also, a huge shout-out to George, the bell boy and hands down the best buggy driver around! Always cheerful, chatty, and full of great local tips, he made getting around the resort seamless and fun. Both Denys and George are absolute credits to the resort. We’re so glad we got to meet them and genuinely hope to stay in touch. The buffet food was fantastic fresh, varied, and beautifully presented every day. There was always something new to try, from traditional Greek dishes to international favourites. All in all, Seaside A Lifestyle Resort delivered on every front: cleanliness, service, views, and hospitality. It’s one of those rare places that manages to be both luxurious and laid-back at the same time. We left relaxed, happy, and slightly heartbroken to be heading home. 5 star in every way, thank you for your hospitality.

One longer review for a absolutely best stay I had so far. I live in Lithuania, we do not have this kind of ultra inclusive hotels. This is our third stay at UAI, first time was Turkey, second Spain, third this one. Main difference, no children, no screaming, just nature. Our room was 51x, so it was further away from the restaurants, evening bar and music are, so all day long it is so quiet, you forget you are staying at hotel. 10 points for the quiet experience. Not once I went to the main areas to lay by main pools. Our room had two chairs outside and two beds to lay in a sun. As we stayed on october, pool water is kinda cold, but wasn't a problem for us. The few times you might see that this hotel accomodates a lot of people are at breakfast, lunch or dinner. What I love about food here. We came on monday, stayed until sunday, everyday a lot of different and new choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner. DESERTS are so good, feels like you are eating them in top class desert shop. Most of people will find what they would like here for sure. 10 out of 10. Weather on october Perfect, all days sunny, mid days sun is kinda hot, in shadow you feel the breeze. SPA experience. I went three times. For me it was best massages I had even compared to local places in my living city Vilnius. 10 out of 10 STAFF. THE ABSOLUTELY BEST THING there is in this hotel. Everybody is so kind, polite, friendly and smiles so much. I work as a photographer and I met a lot of people working at hospitality at 4 and 5 stars. This staff is on another level. You guys are insane and very awesome. 20 out of 10.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome and the professionalism of the staff. Every single person I met was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, which made me feel right at home. The food was absolutely amazing – such a wide variety every day, with fresh, delicious options that catered to all tastes. I especially enjoyed the local dishes, but everything I tried was excellent. It felt like dining in a top-class restaurant every single day. The resort itself is beautiful, modern, and perfectly maintained. Overall, my stay at Sea Side A Lifestyle Resort was nothing short of perfect. The combination of outstanding staff, fantastic food, and stunning surroundings made it an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to come back, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly amazing holiday!

Food & Bars: The main restaurant was good, and there are three à-la-carte restaurants. For stays of 3 nights or more, one dinner at an à-la-carte restaurant is supposed to be included, but online booking only allows it from 7 nights. After asking, staff helped us book, but unfortunately they reserved the second-to-last night instead of our final evening. ➜ Positive note: They handled the mistake very well, and we were allowed to enjoy the dinner on our last evening after all. Bars were good. Service: Friendly and helpful throughout. Room & Facilities: Babymoon gift was unfortunately an alcoholic bottle of wine. Our private pool required cleaning on request and was extremely cold, making it unusable—the public pool and the sea were much better. Technical & Cleanliness Issues: Weak Wi-Fi, drinks not replenished, and numerous power outages—almost a dozen in total. Most lasted around 5 seconds, several up to 2–3 minutes, and on our last day, while packing, the power failed completely. The toilet also began to bubble and smelled of sewage afterwards. Overall: Good food and friendly service, but far too many technical and organizational issues for a 5-star resort. Because we booked a private pool suite, the price was absolutely not worth it.

The service at the hotel is perfect, the staff is courteous and responds to every request with a smile and kindness. The villa is well-equipped, clean and simply perfect. The location of the hotel is truly dreamy, located on the mountain, with a simply stunning view, and is close to all the main places. Highly recommend staying at this hotel. I am going to be honest with you guys, I normally leave reviews when I want to complain, but this time, I am going out of my way to review purely because of how nice they were. Whilst I am at it, let me give some information, firstly, this place is out of the way, meaning you NEED a car, unless you like hiking daily. And the Taxi from Malia is 10 Euros each way (4 minute drive lol), which is obviously not the real price, but for Westerners, the least we can do is help out the economy a little, so I didn't complain about that personally. Now moving onto the actual hotel. Firstly, they gave us a free upgrade as we were a family and we had different villa types, but they put us next to each other via upgrading. Secondly, because we checked in very late, they left us each a bottle of wine, with food and salad. And not going to lie, that was a highlight for me. I personally poured that wine down at 3AM, and dipped into the pool. Aside from that, very polite, and classy people. The woman whom I forgot the name of, and sorry for getting it wrong, but I think she was Eastern European or Russian, was extremely classy, and informative, she went above and beyond for my family and always helped in any way that we needed. Anyhow, yeah, definitely come here, and rent a car beforehand, and full send it.

Stayed here recently in July for only one of four nights because we were catfished. Nothing looked like the pictures, I'm guessing AI did it and it was not a 5 star resort. The only thing 5 star about the place is the view in which we reserved a sea view Villa that only had a small view of the sea. I'd give this place 1.5 stars if I could because the maintenance person there was by far the most helpful for coming multiple times to fix or try to accommodate us. This is because the hotel front desk leaves at 8:00pm! I'm not a person to nit pick but if you are expecting a 5 star resort, as advertised, you typically are getting the best treatment possible. When we arrived, past the check-in time at 3:00pm, they didn't know we paid already through Expedia. It took them over an hour to figure out if we did and in the interim, we were given a nice smoothie to relax to. That was nice, but the bartender pulled his pants down to show his thong to the people next to us while a kids birthday party was going on. Very strange and I've been to Greece multiple times without any issues. Going back to how we were catfished, the pictures depicted beautiful grass, newly remodeled Villas, and food that look out of this world. The food menu barely had any Greek (pita/tzatziki) and it was Americanized with burgers and pizza with only 8 items on the menu. The Villa had one key and it couldn't be taken out unless you wanted the air to turn off in the Summer. The air, by the way, didn't even work and they tried to fix it but nonetheless it never cooled the downstairs and we were told to keep all curtains closed. The only air that worked were the bedrooms. The place was run down with the tub/shower in the bathroom being broken so you couldn't really bathe. Lastly, transportation is not at this hotel to accommodate the guest to go to the town so you have to pay for a taxi that seems to be confused or have trouble getting to the resort that is about 15 minutes from the town below. I understand being remote but when the locals don't even know the place and it's hard to get a taxi, why doesn't a "5 star" hotel even have a small transportation service? There were just too many issues within 12 hours that made us move and suck up a lot of money that we paid up front ahead of time because they wouldn't refund us. If you claim to be a 5 star resort, you should consider trying to go over the moon for your guests. We stayed at the Alai, a tribute portfolio resort when we left and they treated us so well that cost us less money than this place. Explain to me how that is possible!

The location is gorgeous! We opted for rooms with a sea view - I recommend it! 5 stars are only worth the location, not the food or the hospitality of the employees towards customers. They argued even with the managers in front of the customers without any embarrassment at all. The culinary options are at most 3 stars, not more. All drinks are in plastic cups. Not even the fruit is freshly served. There is no espresso in the all inclusive, for example. Generally the stuff are French speakers, very few English or German speakers. The few artistic programs are held in French. Of course, this experience will not change our opinion about the wonderful Greek people/country, but I would not recommend this destination to friends.

We came to celebrate a birthday, and as a gift they upgraded our room to a large room with a private pool and a balcony and a sea view, crazy! The food at the hotel is very tasty and varied, there is plenty of food, the hotel has bars scattered around that serve food and drinks, 2 pools, one of which is quiet for adults only, a private beach for the hotel, the hotel staff is smiling, polite, professional, gives with all their heart and always wants to help. I will recommend this hotel and will definitely return to it again in the future.

Having spent a week here recently, things started off ok. Beautiful place when we arrived sparkling clean floors, beautiful view, friendly staff... What could possibly go wrong? Well, every room after the rooms in reception area have steps, some a few , some many steps, this place is NOT designed for anybody with any walking issues it's all uphill or downhill, nothing else. Breakfast is served next to reception which is stepless but the food has little to be desired, mostly undercooked or cold, bacon, fried eggs cold and undercooked, omelettes all supposed to be warm were not. Coffee isn't hot and they don't come back often and refill they refill one table in a row of tables and walk away. The really disappointing thing was food not laid out in time for breakfast opening, and floors being brushed and mopped around guests eating breakfast, thick dust on window ledges and slippery floors, hygiene is appalling who brushes a floor whilst people are eating food? Breakfast over, there is a shuttle bus to the beach every 20 minutes if you chose to go down to it, we waited well over half an hour, then found the beach was absolutely full to capacity and no room anywhere, having waited another half hour for the shuttle back up (impossible to walk if you aren't fighting fit) and it arrives with staff sat on it who cannot be bothered to walk back from cleaning the rooms...having been 1st in the queue we were jostled out of the way by everyone else, which either meant standing on the bus 9seats only or waiting another half hour for another one and risk the same thing happening so we stood up no health and safety present. Back at our room beds made nice and clean we look to see what time lunch is...it is at 12 at the active pool bar restaurant! We have just been driven past that bar back to our room, it's halfway down the hillside and it's the only place for lunch unless you class pizza, bread and biscuits as lunch that's all that is available at the snack bar. So we literally have to walk back down the steep slope to have our lunch. Too tired to walk back up we sit around the active pool area which is crowded and noisy and have a quick drink before hauling our asses back up to the relax pool, (adults only) with a "snack bar" serving the same as the other one. It is lovely and quiet and the views from there are absolutely stunning. There are only entertainments in French throughout the day so anyone that doesn't understand is left out. The French seem to have the monopoly on everything. At the hotel, preferential treatment as the hotel is primarily for the French, it does not tell you when you book...they even have different coloured all inclusive bands so they stand out from everyone else, you can sit at a table for 4 in the restaurant if there are two of you and you have a blue wristband but if anyone else tries it they are "politely" asked to move!!! Evening meal is in the main dining room, again same old stuff day after day , no thermometers in that place most of the food is cold in temperature. There are a couple of a la carte restaurants you can use once a week if you stay for a week we chose the Greek Taverner 16 taster dishes to try, mostly very nice but the mains course we couldn't eat due it being mostly fish and us not liking fish, especially cuttlefish in squid ink. One main bar in the evening and it is only half open as in if you stand at the wrong end of it you are ignored, one page of all inclusive drinks and ten pages of payable drinks, all inclusive drinks are horrible cheap and sweet. I really have nothing good to say about this hotel apart from one or two lovely staff and a beautiful view, there is nothing to do when it rains ,(it rained 3 days we were there) no bars indoors open, no activities to do. We were glad to hand our key back on our last day, fortunately we hired a car and got the heck out of there and spent a beautiful day at another resort. I would not recommend this hotel, not would I ever revisit it, it is absolutely a waste of money, we have stayed in better 3* hotels than Athina Palace.

🌴 Review I had a wonderful stay at Sunshine Crete Beach & Village. The location is perfect — right by the sea, with a beautiful view and easy beach access. The pools are large, clean, and great for relaxing. The hotel staff were very friendly, polite, and always ready to help, which made the experience even better. The breakfast was enjoyable, with enough variety to start the day well. Booking through Agoda also included free breakfast, which was a nice bonus. The rooms were spacious and clean, though the interior design felt a little bit old-fashioned. Still, everything was comfortable and well-maintained. Overall, it’s a lovely place to relax, enjoy the beach, and spend quality time. Definitely a good value for the price, and I would recommend it for both couples and families. ⭐ Rating: 5/5

We really enjoyed our holidays at the Sunshine Crete Beach Hotel. We have stayed in a semi-separate apartment out of the main building. It was clean and quiet. We asked for a sea-view room but we could barely see the sea as it was mostly hidden by other buildings which was not so big issue at the end as we did not spend much time in the room anyway. The catering was also great in the main restaurant and at the beach bar. The overall atmosphere was perfect, mostly thanks to the animation team. They took care of the children as well as of adults during the day and evening. There was always something to do and it was always fun. Amongst others stretching and aqua aerobics in the morning, water polo and some competition in the afternoon, and a mini-disco for kids with another competition or karaoke and a disco in the evening. Go, animators, go!

We spent a wonderful 6 days and 5 nights at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was exceptionally varied and delicious, with dishes being promptly replenished whenever something ran out. Cleanliness was consistently maintained both in the room and throughout the entire property. The staff were friendly, attentive, and respectful, contributing greatly to the pleasant atmosphere. The pools were never overcrowded, and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax comfortably. The only drawback we encountered was the ongoing issue with sunbed reservations. Despite clear signage asking guests not to reserve sunbed with towels, many still did so early in the morning. As a result, it was sometimes difficult to find a free sunbed—even though many of them were left unused for hours. While it’s hard to suggest an ideal solution for this, it’s unfortunate that such behavior persists despite the hotel’s efforts. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel and we would gladly return :)

We stayed at the Ikaros resort for 5 nights with the All Inclusive deal. Our room was described by everyone upon check in as the best of the entire resort and it sure did not disappoint! If you are staying at this place, ask for room 747. The size of the room was huge plus the balcony was big enough for a party! And the view….. WOW!! The service here had an odd concept. The main pool bar closes at 3:30-4pm…. Then there is no drinks or snacks or even music so you are forced to walk across the entire resort to another bar! The towel service ends at 5pm meaning if you have just come back from a day trip and want to jump in the pool or beach for a cool down, the towel collection station is closed even though the pool is open until 10pm. We got the ‘All Inclusive’ deal but that was a scam…… it definitely is NOT All Inclusive! Only certain drinks were included. 5 restaurants but you only have access to a buffet. ‘Snacks’ throughout the day is like a kids menu serving nuggets and chips even though its an adults only resort. I must say however the staff there were super nice and friendly and welcoming, especially Nikos at reception and Wendy from the Spa! They are incredible employees!

A very lovely hotel, great location on the beach, with a nice sandy beach (clear and low water). The room was in fact a mini suite, cozy, very very clean, silent and fresh even when outside was hot. We enjoyed the great view from our terrace, the AC, the short way to the pool, to the main restaurant and to the beach. Very tasty food, great variety, friendly and carring personnel (the chef was very empathetic about my food allergy and offered personalized food❤️). It was a very pleasant vacation that we would repeat any time.

Great place for couples. Fabulous setting and amazing food. Drinks are a bit expensive but you can get your own from the local supermarket. Very popular with German guests. Probably 90% of the guests were German. Entertainment excellent apart from the DJ who mainly catered for the Germans and Germany is not renowned for its music! Only downside is the amount of smoking. Everyone seemed to be smoking everywhere. I am an ex smoker but this was a bit of surprise for a Luxury Resort and Spa.We booked a day trip to Knossos which is only 38 minutes away according to Google but with all the pick ups and drops offs, we spent nearly 4hrs on the coach. Highly recommend private transfer. We were in our hotel an hour after landing! And the room was ready. Also booked late check out until 6pm for an extra €60. Don't forget the tourist tax at €15 per day per room. We would definitely return though.

Just spent a week at this hotel with my family and we were blown away. The rooms were great, mini bar stocked everyday, food was fab, all inclusive drinks were branded and cocktails were top notch. The hotel itself is amazing with three pools and plenty of bars with four a la crate restaurants and a sushi bar alongside the main restaurant. Staff were amazing and a special shout out to George from the theatre bar who was great. Kids loved it and I even got to do some fishing! Would highly recommend.

The hotel looks great, the facilities were nice. The food was average but not impressive. The best food was on the beach, the restaurants not so much. breakfast at the buffet also gets repetitive. The room is clean and everything you need is there. You have to use the do not disturb sign, as staff comes by like 10 times a day for every different task (clean towels, mini bar, beach towels, cleaning etc). if you have a late flight, they let you store luggage in a room and use all facilities which was very nice. The pool, the beach and the beds were all nice. The hotel bed is very comfortable and the room can be made fairly dark for light sleepers.

We just returned from a fantastic week at Mitsis Laguna Resort in Crete, and I have to say, the service here is some of the best we’ve ever experienced—even better than Club Med. The entire team went above and beyond to make our stay special. A huge shout-out to the sports team for keeping us active and entertained, the champagne & sushi bar team for their amazing service and delicious offerings, and the restaurant teams—especially Violetta, Theodor, and so many others—who made every meal a delight. The food was excellent, with plenty of variety and high quality across all five restaurants. The resort itself is stunning, right on the beach with beautiful views. Our room was spacious, modern, and comfortable, and the facilities—pools, spa, private beach—were all top-notch. Our kids loved the kids’ club, and the evening entertainment was always fun. There are just a couple of small things that could be improved: the wine is always served warm (we Americans love our drinks chilled!), and the restaurant reservation system can be a bit chaotic. A simple investment in a wine chilling system (like Lechiller) and a more streamlined booking process would make a big difference. Overall, Mitsis Laguna Resort is an outstanding choice for a luxury getaway in Crete. The service, location, and amenities are all fantastic, and the team truly makes you feel at home. We’d come back in a heartbeat—just keep that champagne and sushi coming, and maybe chill the wine a little! 😊 Tips: Book a sea-view room—it’s worth every penny. Make restaurant reservations as soon as you can. The private beach is perfect for a peaceful afternoon.

What an Amazing hotel and a wonderful experience. The Staff were absolutely amazing everyone was so kind and accommodating I’ve never experienced anything like it the owners should be very proud. The food was stunning something for everyone and the À la carte restaurants were just perfect. The rooms were stunning and so well presented and very Spacious with a topped up mini bar everyday. The entertainment was brilliant every night sitting down with a lovely cocktail overlooking the sea what more do you want. Thank you for making this holiday very special for us and I honesty can’t speak highly enough of this hotel.

We stayed at Domes Noruz Chania the end of September for 10 days and it was the perfect retreat from start to finish. All of the staff were absolutely fantastic, so friendly, attentive and couldn’t have done more for us. They really made us feel welcome and taken care of throughout our stay. My boyfriend and I are into our fitness and the gym facilities were excellent, one of the best we’ve seen at a hotel. He also used the sauna every day and loved it! The whole hotel had such a relaxed easygoing vibe, no stress about getting sunbeds or queues at breakfast. The location is perfect too, right on the beach and within walking distance to lots of lovely restaurants and spots to explore. A really special touch was on my boyfriend’s birthday, while we were out the team surprised us with a cake and a bottle in the room. Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations- beautiful surroundings, amazing service and a wonderful atmosphere that made it feel truly special. We left feeling completely recharged and can’t wait to come back again soon!

Our honeymoon began at Domes Noruz Chania, and it set the bar high for every stop in Greece that followed. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond—there was a chocolate bombe cake and a chilled bottle of champagne waiting in our room, a thoughtful surprise that made us feel instantly celebrated. We’d booked through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts and were upgraded to a beautiful room, and they honored our late checkout with no fuss. Breakfast each morning exceeded expectations, with a generous spread that included fresh juices, teas, and espresso drinks, a honeycomb block for drizzling, flaky pastries, perfectly poached eggs, fresh fruit, and rotating sides that kept things fresh and interesting throughout our stay. The service at dinner was equally polished, complemented by peaceful live acoustic music. One entrée arrived comically small—a lone chicken breast, some sauce, and a single broccoli stalk—but the team handled it graciously, offering dessert and champagne on the house. Between the spotless private beach, excellent towel service, and two distinct pools—one serene, one upbeat with electronic music—there was a spot for every mood. Drinks were creative and fairly priced, especially during happy hour. We also visited the spa, where the staff was warm, attentive, and clearly skilled at what they do. The treatments themselves were excellent, though a few of the spa amenities could use some fine-tuning. The warm-water pool and sauna were pleasant but not as powerful or hot as expected—the sauna hovered around 50°C, some of the jets in the pool weren’t working, and the steam room never fully heated up. Still, the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the staff’s professionalism made it a worthwhile experience. More than anything, what made our stay special was the staff. They were kind, thoughtful, and very attentive. After the whirlwind of our wedding, Domes Noruz gave us exactly what we needed: a place to relax. It was the perfect start to our honeymoon and a resort we’ll remember for its kindness as much as its beauty.

We had an incredible time here, our only regret is not staying longer. The staff was attentive and exceptional. The accommodations were comfortable and very clean. The spa was relaxing, and the gym was great. The location was right on the water, and spectacular. The breakfast was plentiful with various option, and everything was delicious. Even though we stayed a week, we were not board of eating similar food. I loved their desserts. Staffs were very friendly. It was comfortable. I loved the sauna and the pool. They gave a dinner coupon to their own another restaurant. It was worth the try. 5 course dinner was delicious. They have a nice bar. Snacks are always available. Overall we really enjoyed our visit.

Breakfast, in particular, was fantastic, offering a huge selection to start the day right. We also loved the range of sea activities available, which added an element of adventure to our trip. Elounda Bay truly lives up to its reputation as a "Leading Hotel of the World." The attention to detail, impeccable service, and top-tier amenities make it a standout destination. We can't wait to return.

The hotel is by no means bad, so I want to make it clear that my two-star rating should not be seen as criticism of the hotel itself, and especially not of the staff. The reason I am giving only two stars is that this is absolutely not a 5-star hotel, although it presents itself as one and charges accordingly. At best, it’s a 4-star property. The food is fine, but nothing special. The grounds are spacious, yes, but far from a 5-star standard, as everything feels old and in need of renovation. The rooms are by far the weakest point: outdated, worn down, small, and very nois. you hear everything. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. Whether at reception, housekeeping, or service, everyone is extremely friendly and attentive. The worst thing is the value for money. The hotel sells itself as a 5-star property, which it most definitely is not, yet still charges 5-star prices. (For example: a non-alcoholic beer at the pool costs €8.) Not worth the Money, but not a bad hotel

Positives: - New refurbished suites are lovely. We had a suite with a pool shared with one other villa. Really recommend trying to get the refurbished rooms. - Beach area is lovely - Staff very kind and good service Negatives/ room for improvement - Water- aside from one bottle when you arrive they don’t provide water. You have to pay €5 for a bottle with half board. For a 5* I’d really expect water be replaced daily by housekeeping and that it’s included at the buffet + a filter at the pool area. We saw loads of guests walking around carrying 6 packs of water that they bought outside of the resort which is really not a good look for a 5*. Seriously just charge 5€ more a night and give people their water for free. There are loads of reviews on this so clearly it bugs a lot of people! - Food- the buffet dinner is a let down with most of the food luke warm. You can go to one of the restaurants instead with a €30 credit pp but it’s an absolute rip off the prices even with that ‘discount’ which is not really a discount as you’ve paid already for the half board. For example, at the Greek restaurant it was €33 for a prawn saganaki and there were FOUR prawns. Seriously. Out of the resort every saganaki had around 12-15 prawns. So all in all I am glad we went for 4 nights but if that had been my whole trip I would have been really annoyed as the food is much better outside of the resort and half the price. You would be better off booking a 5* that is bed and breakfast and eat where you like with higher quality, bigger portions and lower prices.

This place was a scam. They claim to be 5 star, yet we had many issues. When we arrived at 11pm with a sleeping child and asked if we could take him in a cart to our room, they said no (we just had to wake him up). The entire stay, the staff was not friendly or helpful. We chose the hotel (from the many options!) based on the nice beach - but everything else about our stay was not worth the money. We felt scammed. Our room was worn and old and had ants in it upon arrival. The half board room price is outrageous! Then when we asked for a comp for missing our first night buffet (90 Euros), they said no -- until we pushed and pushed and finally gave us a free lunch. The kid pool was tiny and basically for babies. Our older kids had nothing to do. After 5 nights and thousands of dollars, we felt like our entire vacation was a rip-off. We requested a credit for the room rate (since it was NOT 5 star, as advertised) but they NEVER responded. Do not stay here, find another nicer hotel.

perfect location surrounded by stunning scenery, its own two small private beaches, and several pools. food excellent in quality and choice, staff lovely, quiet area away from all the noise and mayhem of busy resorts their crowds. perfect for couples, families and more mature holidaymakers wanting to avoid the nightclubs, party goers and drunken tourists. slightly older building and decor but doesn't detract from our stay. excellent!

The resort is spectacular, with an incredible design that perfectly blends into the surrounding landscape — every detail is beautifully curated, creating a unique and relaxing atmosphere. Excellent service, high touch, but without being overbearing. Felt welcomed, and the attentive detail by the staff was welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised by the food offered in the restaurants, and was pleased with the fact that we had half-board as part of our reservation - we were able to pick lunch/dinner as an additional meal. The staff was warm, welcoming, and I would highlight the food to be excellent to boot. The rooms were well appointed with generous space. Will visit again. This hotel was the highlight of our trip.

We came here for our mini moon. The resort is certainly beautiful. However, for the money, our room should’ve been more private. We could hear everything and everyone who passed by and our room was right on a corner everyone passed so it felt very exposed. The staff by the pool and beach was very capable. The concierge who greeted us was stalling as our room clearly wasn’t ready in time which was a bit annoying. The food was good, though half board felt a bit limiting as if you want to go out for dinner, the half board lunch isn’t great. The breakfast was amazing, one of the best we’ve seen. The beach area was so lovely and should be promoted more! One day there were so beds available so we just went to the pool which was nice as well. If you’re worried about children ruining your stay, we found the children were quiet and overall well behaved. You’ll notice them at the pool but not at the beach. Again, given this wasn’t an adults only hotel, you’ll notice them in your room since there is little privacy.

We had a wonderful stay at Fodele Resort! The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and perfectly located with a great beach. The food was excellent with a superb menu offering plenty of delicious choices every day. The staff were amazing – always friendly, helpful, and even carried our luggage for us. A really thoughtful touch was the daily beach towel change, which made our beach days extra comfortable. What impressed us the most was the surprise birthday cake they prepared for my daughter, even though we hadn’t mentioned anything about her birthday – such a lovely gesture that made our stay unforgettable. Overall, it was a perfect holiday experience, and we would love to come back again!

Our stay at Fodele Resort was excellent. The location is right on a beautiful sandy beach with clear water, both relaxing and convenient. The staff were consistently friendly and professional, and the service from check-in to dining to housekeeping was reliable and attentive. The resort was clean, well designed, and had a comfortable atmosphere. Food and drink options were varied and of good quality. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would gladly return.

Amazing hotel in an amazing location. Plenty of pools from the active main pool, the more chilled lower pool by the lovely private beach or the water park with it's own pools. Food was very good, the highlight for us being the Elia a la carte although the main Basilikos restaurant as well as the Frankie grill on the beach and the Italian buffet also delivered. Drinks at the bars were all good from the beach bar, pool bar where the lady worked relentlessly to keep everyone well catered for to the superb cocktails at the Breeze bar. Fantastic staff throughout, they deserve a lot of credit and yes I'd return here absolutely which I don't often say because I like to try different places but it was so so nice. Thank you Fodele beach resort.

The resort was overall fine, but we booked a Sunset Room (came at a higher price) specifically for the view (based on the photos online, especially since we were traveling with a 3-month-old and we were going to spend more time inside). Instead, we were given a room facing the service area and the kitchen/storage rooftops with AC units, which naturally came with a lot of noise. The front desk staff were kind and quickly moved us to another room (same on the interior but a bit different view). That said, the rooms (at least 702 and 802, the ones we've seen) really need refurbishment and renovation, as they feel dated and somewhat neglected. Towels and bed linens should also be replaced and sofas cleaned. Another important point is accessibility: the resort would benefit from being more stroller-friendly. This applies particularly to the beach area and the elevator access behind the terrace bar. Since the property is built on different levels with many stairs, getting around can become quite tiring after a few days. The staff was friendly though. Also as someone who couldn't stay on the beach all day, I would've liked to be able to enjoy the terrace near the pool, unfortunately we weren't able to, due to the fact that it lacked shadow, there were umbrellas only at the pool. Nothing to comment about location, we had checked and knew that we were coming to a more remote resort.

A fantastic hotel for everyone! My mother and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. It's perfectly situated between the mountains and offers direct access to a stunning, clean, sandy beach. The pool area is also well-maintained and beautifully designed. Our room had a fantastic view of both the sea and the surrounding mountains. The hotel offers a wide range of activities, including animation programs, evening shows, and water sports. The water slides are a lot of fun, and the entire resort is incredibly family-friendly. What truly impressed us was the cleanliness. The staff places a high value on hygiene, and it shows everywhere—in the rooms, on the beach, in the restaurants, and at the pool. The restaurant staff deserves special praise. They were friendly, fast, and maintained excellent hygiene standards. Their hard work and dedication truly stood out. The food selection was also outstanding and of high quality. We enjoyed a mix of delicious Greek and Cretan specialties as well as other international dishes, so there was something for every taste and age. A big thank you to the kitchen staff as well! I would rate the hotel's location 4 out of 5 stars. The nearest major town is a bit far, so it's not ideal for walking to other destinations. However, this is also a major advantage, as the hotel has a unique, secluded location and isn't surrounded by other resorts. It's a matter of personal preference. We rented a car for two days, which made it easy to explore. It was convenient that we could do this directly at the hotel. Overall, we had a beautiful time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you for the wonderful work!

I don’t think I can fully express how much we loved our stay at Elounda Mare in Crete. From the moment we arrived, the staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Their warmth and attentiveness made the experience truly exceptional. The rooms are beautiful, and despite being part of a large resort complex, the hotel never felt crowded. We had no trouble finding a beach chair with an umbrella or a comfortable spot by the pool—Elounda Mare clearly prioritizes guest comfort over packing the place full. During our stay, our teenagers took a golf lesson, and everyone enjoyed a massage. The pool, the beach, and the views are all stunning—it’s a place where you naturally slow down and enjoy every moment. As we checked out, the staff asked us to return next year. That’s exactly the kind of place this is—welcoming, generous, and unforgettable. We truly loved it.

Elounda Mare – where five stars actually mean something For our very first trip to Crete, we were curious to see if the warmth and quality of hospitality we’ve grown used to in some Peloponnese (secret) places we know, would be matched. Spoiler alert: Elounda Mare did not disappoint. This is a real-deal five-star hotel — not just because someone put five stars on a sign, but because everything truly lives up to it: comfort, facilities, and above all, the professionalism and kindness of the team. From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in very good hands. Thoughtful details, genuine smiles, and a calm sense of care made our stay feel both luxurious and personal. After two weeks exploring Crete — a journey full of charm, history, and wild nature far away from the occasional "this-could-be-anywhere" kind of place — Elounda Mare stood out as something we’ll definitely return to. Special thanks to Jason, whose advice was always spot on (and much appreciated by two slightly over-curious travelers).

Do you want to have the best vacation of your life? Do you want to feel like royalty? Then elounda mare is for you. We went for our honeymoon, and six nights was not enough. The views, the staff, the food, it was all incredible. Our villa was so clean, cozy and homey. First off, you need to take advantage of the wine tasting. The sommelier is so knowledgeable and also so fun. We had an amazing afternoon tasting wines, after our super fun cooking class. We made authentic Greek food, mussaka, and it’s a dish and skill we will treasure forever. All of the restaurants are to die for, we had no issue going back for dinner a second or third night to a restaurant because there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try. What makes this place the best, was the staff. They made us feel like a part of the family. And if you are getting married anytime soon, there will be no one more excited to welcome you than Elounda Mare. They went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. It was a long trek to make, but we will be returning to Elounda Mare again and again.

Timing is everything. We stayed in this hotel during the shoulder season when it was 5 days from closing down for the season. They upgraded us from a 1 bedroom suite to a 2 bedroom suite. It was incredible. I was blown away with the fantastic private pool, the balcony view and the amazing room. They also had air condition that worked really well. Keep in mind, I was there end of October so the AC was not really needed. I found the staff extremely helpful. The breakfast was good. Not anything super amazing, but plentiful and full of variety. Plus I could make my own tea which made me happy. The bottle of wine they gave us was delicious. Their olives were divine. The restaurant was okay for some food and really good for some dishes. The Yacht club food was absolutely fabulous for me. Their beach was lovely and since there was no one there in the morning until 10:30 AM, I felt like I was on a private beach. They have a dive shop and the water is perfectly clear. I really enjoyed my time here and I have to remind people the timing. End of October is wonderful of you can handle the cold.

We had a great stay at the Pilot Beach Resort. We had a family room, which was very spacious and had a separate kids room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The beach was just wonderful and easy to reach and I really appreciated that there was a life guard , since some days there were quite some waves (in the fun way). There were always enough sun chairs both at the pool and the beach! A total recommendation if you look for a family vacation!

I like this place. It’s simple - with a nice beach, basic pools for swimming and a reasonable children’s club. You can get a bed by the pool or on the beach pretty easily but the beach pool was typically packed early on so we avoided it. It’s no frills though so it your used of lots of stuff to do and water slides etc then you’ll be disappointed. My kids (5, 10 and 13) kept themselves occupied in the pools just messing around with floats or in the sea with snorkels. Food is excellent in quality but snacks are not really available (you can’t just up grab a slice of pizza or a sandwich if you don’t fancy a full-on sit down) and there isn’t really any snack stations. Drinks are available but it’s a bit of a pain, you have to go actively find a drink, go to the bar and physically ask with no service really coming to you during the day. Entertainment was good, they did their best, it was ok for us. Only issue is if starts late -9pm. And kids were tired. AI is via a card and some things are in and some thinks are not so this was really annoying. I ordered a children’s cocktail and they told me I couldn’t have without paying 8euros for it, there were a few things like this throughout the holiday that just slightly irritated given the money we spent on the trip. People were nice and friendly aside from some rude bar staff on one occasion - I think they were hot, fed up of being asked the same questions, or needed a break! All in all it’s nice, good quality hotel but diddnt have the luxurious feel that you can experience if you find a gem. 4Star , but not 5 IMO

Facilities and food were excellent, however all meals were buffet so, serve yourself. Only beer and wine with meals served at the table so had to got to the bar to get any other drinks yourself. No room service at all. The spa did not offer pedicures. Whilst our stay was enjoyable this is definitely NOT a 5 star hotel.

Went in late May and was a superb location for a family holiday. Lots to do in the resort and lots accessible by hire car around the island to explore. Food is perfect for a family, lots of choice and all very tasty. The place is well maintained and our room was excellent. We had a double with a split sofa bed for our two boys (7/11). Atmosphere is great, friendly and helpful staff, pools (all 5 of them!) are varied and never too busy.

The great: Location, views, a la carte restaurant part of all-inclusive. Service attitude of restaurant and bar staff. The whirlpool on the terrace was a nice surprise. The good: All-inclusive buffet is quite ok but some shortcuts; pizza bar only has one type of sliced and not very tasty. Meats don't come with any sauce options. On several occasions we got our beverages only at the end of our meals - understaffing? Good variety however. Out room was fine, nice views and according to our wishes with a separate living area and bedroom, with a door in between. Only one toilet. No shower handle, no walk-in shower. A bit dated but still ok. The bad: The bed for the third person in the suite isn't a bed. You end up sleeping on the sofa. This is horrible, severely affects sleep quality. No sunbed on the terrace, there's room for one or even two. Parking options: You end up having to burn the clutch on the hill parking, or park on the busy street below, if you don't want to wait (sometimes for a long time) for a golf cart to take you to the hilltop where there may be some parking (quite a drive uphill...). Overall I can warmly recommend this hotel. We've also stayed in Domes of Elounda (Autograph collection). This hotel is better located in my opinion as it is slightly closer to Elounda village, with sidewalks all the way. Views are lovely from most if not all rooms.

The exclusive pool / bar / restaurant at the top was genuinely 5 stars and like a mini beach club and the views stunning. Staff great, nothing is too much bother also everything very clean. Warm welcomed, the guest relations and concierge ladies were lovely, in general the whole front office team. Our room was amazing, modern and clean, every day our mini bar was refilled and the room was being cleaned spotless. The food was good but Steak was amazing. We loved the pool but the beach was wow! Sandy and clean! Felt nice having lifeguards to watch on us. We had a great stay!

The Wine Bar features an excellent selection of carefully curated local and international wines, emphasizing top quality and great service. Mitsis Rinela exceeded all my expectations! The serene and beautifully designed surroundings instantly put me at ease, making it the perfect escape. The staff here is absolutely wonderful—always smiling and ready to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Our room was a dream—spacious, bright, and immaculately clean. The main restaurant has something for everyone, with a fantastic variety of options to suit all tastes. We also had the chance to dine at the Taverna, which was a delightful authentic Greek experience. On our last day, we tried the Italian restaurant, and it was the perfect way to cap off our holiday—delicious food and a lovely ambiance. I’ll definitely be back for another stay!

One of the best hotels in Crete! The environment and design make you feel so relaxed and safe. Staff is amazing and always there smiling and ready to assist. Rooms are clean, luminous and spacious. The Main Restaurant has various options that may cater all kind of preferences and needs. From the a la carte restaurants, I tried the Taverna, which was a lovely greek dining experience and on my last day, I ate at the Italian, which honestly, was the best closure for my stay! Definitely coming back!

My fiancé and I stayed here for 1 week at the start of October. Mitsis Rinela is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are beautiful, modern and kept immaculately clean. The rest of the hotel is also beautiful, reflecting the same standard of upkeep. The Reception and main restaurant is a little dated in decor in comparison, but again, immaculately clean. The sun loungers are luxurious and comfortable, with plenty availability, and the views of the sea are beuatiful. We found the swimming pool to be a little cold, but I suspect this was just that we were late in the season. The food at this hotel is delicious, especially the Italian and Steak restaurants. Location wise there are a few small bars, restaurants and shops to visit within walking distance, but most other things require a bus or taxi. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you directly to Heraklion. All the staff are extremely friendly and caring, but a special thank you to Katerina, head of house keeping, who went above and beyond. I had an accident on our first day which required x rays in hospital (absolutely no fault of the hotel). Katerina was at my side whilst waiting for medical care, and was waiting for me when I returned from hospital. She continued to check on me daily and we are so grateful for her care. The hotel staff also could not do enough to look after us, calling my mobile every day to check I was okay and moving my room so that I didn't have to walk as far. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be looking to return in the future.

We had a lovely time at Creta Maris. The resort is beautiful, with a wide variety of restaurants and great service. The all-inclusive offering is generous, and the staff made our birthday celebration special with a surprise cake at dinner. We stayed in a bungalow, spacious but a bit dated. The spa is excellent, though quite pricey. The salad and juice bars were very good, but some daytime food stands felt limited, especially the fruit stand. A few small disappointments: the beach bar only serves Aperol Spritz as its alcoholic option, juice glasses in the main restaurant are tiny, and the coffee there is poor. Restaurant reservations are hard to get, almost impossible on the second night, and from the third night onward you have to book at 8 a.m. or everything is taken. The BBQ restaurant is not really a restaurant but rather another buffet presented as one, seemingly just to increase the count of restaurant options. The food at the à la carte restaurants was fine but nothing exceptional, and we unfortunately got food poisoning after dining at the fish restaurant. Also, the wine selection in the all-inclusive package is very poor compared to other resorts we have stayed at. Overall, still a pleasant vacation, but with some inconsistencies that the hotel needs to improve.

We had a lovely holiday here. As a pregnant woman I was worried about the drinks options for me but there were so many mocktails I didn't feel like I missed out. We stayed in the adult deluxe rooms. The room was clean and had everything you need. Some reviews said the rooms were rundown but that wasn't my experience at all. The adult only pool area was lovely and quiet. Sunbeds by the pool do go fairly quickly but there were always beds on the beach available all day. Food at the buffet was amazing and the adult only area was nice and relaxed. The food at the restaurants was a bit hit and miss for us and it was disappointing that most of the wines my husband requested (extra charge) weren't available but this wasnt indicated on the menu. The staff were incredible, seemed genuinely happy and really helpful. My husband said the included alcoholic drinks were great, definitely no watered down cocktails and absolutely no need to tip unlike other places we've been. The hotel grounds are gorgeous, like a traditional greek village. I would really recommend this hotel, though I can only speak of the adult only section really. I would recommend booking direct with the hotel because this worked out cheaper and they will arrange private taxi transfers to the airport for free.

I have been visiting Creta Maris for four years in a row, but this year I’m very disappointed. For the same price, or even higher, guests can no longer access part of the hotel that has been turned into an adults-only area. A large pool that used to be perfect for children is now restricted, and the heated pools near the sea are no longer available to us. I do not recommend this hotel for families with children who have stayed before and expect to receive the same services as in previous years. The bar upstairs never has any outdoor seating available, and the bar downstairs has changed its style—now drinks must be ordered directly at the bar instead of the staff bringing them to guests as before. There is a noticeable shortage of staff compared to previous years. I do not plan to stay here again with kids.

I recently stayed at Creta Maris Resort, and I have to say it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The resort itself is stunning, but what truly sets it apart is the warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The food was absolutely fantastic – so many options, all freshly prepared, and every meal felt like a new discovery of flavors. You can tell they put a lot of care into both quality and variety, and it really adds to the overall experience. The customer care is outstanding. Every member of the staff goes above and beyond to make sure guests are comfortable and happy. They genuinely make you feel cared for, not just like another visitor passing through. That homely touch makes all the difference. I also had the chance to visit the massage parlour, which I highly recommend. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the service was top-notch. Dimitri in particular was amazing – very professional and attentive, and his massage skills were excellent. It was exactly what I needed to unwind and recharge. Overall, Creta Maris Resort is a place I’d happily return to and recommend to anyone looking for a mix of comfort, great food, excellent service, and pure relaxation.

We had the most incredible stay at Stella Island! From the moment we arrived, everything felt like pure luxury. The resort itself is absolutely stunning modern, elegant, and designed so beautifully that every corner feels like a dream. Our room with the pool view was spotless and so comfortable, and waking up every morning to that view was unforgettable. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of — genuinely kind, attentive, and always with a smile. The food and drinks were excellent (so many options, and everything fresh and flavorful), and the all-inclusive package really made the experience feel effortless. The pools and grounds are breathtaking, and there are plenty of quiet corners if you want to relax, or more lively areas if you’re in the mood for a fun atmosphere. Everything about the property is so well maintained and thoughtful it really does feel like a little slice of paradise. If you’re looking for a romantic, relaxing, and luxurious getaway in Crete, Stella Island is absolutely worth it. We can’t wait to come back!

We had the absolute pleasure of spending our vacation here for two weeks. An advertisement that reached me via Instagram caught my attention. To sum it up in advance: it was fantastic... this is the perfect place to spend your vacation, switch off, and relax. First and foremost: the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. It wasn't fake or forced; almost everyone lived it. An absolutely great facility. Very clean, tasteful, spacious, great rooms. The food was very good, on par with a 5-star rating. The buffet was extensive, varied, and very good. The separate à la carte restaurants are also worth trying, offering a slight upgrade. The pool area is very stylish and one of the most beautiful I have seen so far... Small wishes: Everything is designed for a week's stay, then it repeats itself. And a few more sun loungers, perhaps permanently assigned to the rooms... Otherwise: pretty much perfect,🤩 worth repeating. My special thanks: Ladi, Michael, and Anastasia....

Beautiful resort, would definitely come back! We went all inclusive and was really pleased that there weren’t surprise add ons which you find at lots of hotels. The dancers and entertainers were great, they worked very hard to put on great shows. The room, pools, restaurants and staff were all fantastic - lots of pool bar service and places to get drinks. The Greek restaurant in particular was great for lunch, amazing salads and seafood as you’d expect. The app makes it easy to order room service but it was a bit complicated to book the restaurants and spa so that was easier to do with the concierge.

We stayed in the luxury swim up room for a week recently. The hotel was beautiful and one of the nicest hotels we have been to. Whilst we were there we had the choice of 6 different restaurants, all were amazing and included in the all inclusive package. The whole time we were there the food was so good and it's great that you have the choice of all the different cuisines there. What I will say is, even though we were all inclusive we weren't able to go to the same restaurant for dinner more than once as it wasn't included in the all inclusive package, so we did have to eat at the buffet for dinner 2 out of 7 nights (still lovely and so much choice on what to eat but would of preferred to go back to the restaurants instead). The staff were so helpful and attentive whilst we were there, they even come round to you at dinner and rung us half way through our stay to make sure we are happy with everything! There aren't many faults with this place, however with the swim up rooms I would say an improvement could be how you can order your drinks at the bar throughout the day. The staff tend to go round to the ones using the sunbeds to take drink orders, however no one really came over to the people on the swim up rooms to take their order. This was slightly inconvenient as there was no app you could order from the bar (even though they do have an app to use throughout your stay) so we'd have to walk round everytime we'd want a drink or swim over. Which I thought they'd have something in place for this, considering we paid more for the swim up room so we don't have to look for a sunbed each day. We would definitely come back to Stella Island as apart from this everything was perfect!

On arrival we were greeted by Christos who having sorted our cases, sat us down in reception arranged refreshments, a cool towel and sorted our check in. The only time we moved was to pay the environmental tax and Christos to show us around and then to our room. Our cases were brought it was fantastic. We had a sea view room, large and spacious and whilst some say the rooms are dated they are bright white and exceptionally clean. What dates them is the wardrobes but we had two so for once I could hang my clothes as well as my wife’s. We booked all restaurants in advance - would recommend. The best is the Greek and the White which is fine dining. Food was brilliant. Lunch in the Italian also. Drinks are all premium but the people make it. The staff are brilliant and because everyone’s having a great time all the guest are happy acknowledging each other even dancing together irrespective of language barriers. In short this is a great hotel. The bus service into the local town is 4 euros there and back for two and well worth a visit. The old town especially. Can’t recommend highly enough.

​Our week-long stay at the Grecotel LUX ME White Palace at end of September swas absolutely wonderful, leaving us feeling completely satisfied. The hotel, pools and our room were exceptionally clean, demonstrating a high standard of maintenance. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and truly made our experience special. Dining was a major highlight, with the food being consistently superb. The exclusive dinner experience at the farm was particularly unforgettable. We also greatly enjoyed trying all the different à la carte restaurants. Using the convenient hotel application to make our reservations before arrival worked seamlessly. Our vacation was truly memorable, and we would happily choose to return someday.

Went September 2025, didn't get the arrival experience everyone else seemed to get. Room keys didn't work, tv on but no signal could not change any channels because No batteries in remote. Room dated with poor stoage but 2 fridge unit cabinets! One could have been a drawer unit to help. Shower dangerous as the floor was a gloss ceramic tile and very very slippery when wet! The shower head was the old hand held 3 inch leftover from the old bath. No shower cap and toiletries poor quality. People great. Food good with the exception of Tavernaki which was not our taste and poor in comparrison to the Agreco Farm which we appreciate was Ctetian where Tavernaki was Greek. Buffet was a bit boring with not much seafood. Whilst a modern hotel it was generally uncomfortable. If you are a couple beware, this is a family friendly hotel(their words) and a bit like a nursery!

My partner and I recently stayed at Luxme White Palace this past week and I have to say this was definitely the best 5 star all inclusive we’ve been on so far. Pros: 1. We originally booked a family guest room but for some reason Grecotel decided to surprise us and upgraded us to the Villa Luxe Yali Seafront room! It was definitely a lucky upgrade as we had our own pool and own sunbeds! (The pool wasn’t heated but can be requested with a charge of €90 a day). 2. Food + Drinks. There were several a la carte restaurants and also the buffet restaurant which was available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The a la carte restaurants includes an Italian restaurant, Greek, Asian and fine dining, however these must be booked once you get there as there was high demand and unfortunately my partner and I were only able to book the Italian and Asian restaurant. But, the food was absolutely delicious! There were a wide variety of foods available for both the buffet and a la carte, and the food was fresh (we didn’t get any food poisoning which was great!), as well as there were a range of bars (Sunset Bar and the Beach bar) where there were unlimited drinks! 3. Service. The servers were very attentive and many have great manners! When we first arrived, we were already greeted with drinks such as champagne/rose and the check in process was so smooth, all we did was sit down and enjoyed the view whilst the guest relations team explained everything about the hotel and the perks we had. Shoutout to Sophia from the guest relations team who took care of my partner and I, she was very attentive and also answered all of our concerns/questions. 4. Entertainment. There was a decent amount of entertainment in the evenings, including kids programmes, music, DJs and aqua aerobics. Cons: 1. Despite coming in mid September, the main pools were always quite busy and there was clearly a competition for snatching sunbeds. Luckily, Grecotel has stated that you can’t reserve sunbeds before 10:30am (as in claim your sunbed by placing a towel/belongings on it) and once you’ve left the area for more than 30 minutes then it’ll be “unreserved”. But this wasn’t really a problem for us since we got upgraded, it’s mainly for customers who have booked regular rooms. 2. Booking system. Grecotel has an app where you can book all the a la carte restaurants during your stay. However, the app was quite outdated and the system was just slightly ridiculous because as soon as we arrived, we could never get a booking for the Greek restaurant or Agreco Farm. They have a WhatsApp system where you can chat with the guest relations team, however you’ll only be waitlisted and it’s quite rare you get the opportunity to confirm a booking. Hence, maybe Grecotel shouldn’t promote this restaurant dining system as much as most people were not even able to secure a booking. We saw that the restaurants also operate at 20-30% capacity, perhaps to show the exclusivity, but it was a bit disappointing we were not able to enjoy all the a la carte restaurants or even visit Agreco Farms (you’re able to book each a la carte restaurant once during your stay). Overall, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience, and it is definitely worth booking and a top contender in terms of EasyJet all inclusive holiday destinations! However, please bear in mind regarding the restaurant booking system and obviously securing sunbeds if you want to relax by the pool! Also, as we stayed in September, it was definitely more quiet and less busy compared to the peak summer months (June to August).

Cozy and quite hotel… Very tasty food… Sun near pool hiding 16:45. Good and high quality shampagne and another, but they dont have sambuca. Not comfortable stairs, funiculiere slow… Nice sand in the beach. Service good… nice staff… If you drink alcohol i recomend book all inclusive. Then you can take every day 2 bottles of alcohol to the room, and not limited soft drinks.

We came to Daios Cove for our honeymoon and were absolutely blown away so much so that we extended our stay! If you’re a honeymooner looking for that perfect mix of luxury, relaxation, incredible facilities and service, this is the place. Everything about the resort is next level. The setting is stunning, the rooms are beautiful, and the service is flawless. Every staff member we met was kind, warm, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The room service team, pool bar staff, and the teams at Ocean and Taverna restaurants were all amazing and the pool/beach attendants were just as friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile. The cocktails were seriously impressive, and the food was spot-on every time. Make sure you go for the all-inclusive option, you absolutely won’t regret it. Everyone is in a good mood and greets you with a smile. This is a very family friendly resort, something that we didn’t know or realize the magnitude of. If you visit don’t be surprised by the children - you have been warned. That being said, the resort does offer adults only dining rooms and pool areas.

Truly Paradise! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were somewhere special. We were greeted so warmly by Nadia, whose friendliness and kindness set the tone for our entire stay. She went out of her way to surprise my mother with a lovely birthday treat - a gesture we will never forget! Our room was spacious, modern, and incredibly comfortable. The pools are expansive and beautifully maintained, the buffet food delicious and authentically prepared, and every single staff member we met was so kind and welcoming. We also enjoyed the hotel’s wonderful spa - my mother and I had our hair done by the supremely talented Irini, while my father had an excellent massage with Marina. Both were exceptionally professional, and the whole spa team made us feel completely pampered. Next to reception, there’s even a lovely jewellery boutique where we picked out some beautiful gifts, helped by the knowledgeable and kind Diana. But the true heart and soul of the hotel is Manolis. From our first day, he made our stay extraordinary - giving us a personal tour of our room, sharing great tips about the island, and always greeting us with genuine warmth and a smile. The management is truly lucky to have such a diamond of a person on their team. We’re so grateful to have met him - thank you, Manolis, for making our experience unforgettable! We already miss this hotel - it’s exceptional in every way and has everything you could dream of for a perfect vacation. Finally, a special thank you to Eftychios (apologies if we’ve misspelled the name) who drove us to and from the airport. We booked the hotel’s private transfer service and highly recommend it - he was a pleasure to chat with and made the journey so comfortable. Avra truly is paradise, we can’t wait to return!

⭐⭐ Since Avra Imperial already is a 5-star hotel, I'll add these two extra stars to truly reflect how good they are. We had high expectations getting here, but they managed to surprise us. Everything from the architecture, the food, the pools and the surroundings are just perfect to me. It feels like a modern version of an ancient minoan temple, focused on rest and relaxation. The pools are all spacious, the spa is very zen and calming with everything you need, and the buffet have something for everyone. The architecture is interesting and luxury, all the way from the bathrooms down to the bottom of the pool. All of this is what you expect from a 5-star hotel, but what really sets Avra above others, and what warrants the extra stars, is the staff. Consistently nice, friendly, and very professional. They are always close by, prepared to help out if you need anything. Their attitude is always professional and solution oriented, and every request is met with an attitude that nothing is too hard or annoying to accommodate. Avra is simply an incredible place, and we are already looking forward to visit again!

​We visited the Avra Imperial Hotel this September 25 for a special anniversary trip, and were thoroughly impressed by this stylish and modern resort. While the surrounding village feels a little tired, the moment you step onto the hotel grounds, you enter a beautifully designed world of contemporary luxury. ​The heart of the resort is its enormous, stunning central pool. It's the focal point around which everything is thoughtfully arranged. At either end, you'll find three different restaurants, while a chic pool bar and a lunchtime food spot occupy the centre, ensuring you're never far from a refreshing drink or a bite to eat. ​The staff were an absolute highlight of our stay. They were unfailingly lovely, warm, and friendly, and we were amazed by their ability to effortlessly switch between languages to accommodate all the guests. Nothing was ever too much trouble. ​We treated ourselves to a deluxe room with a private pool that overlooked the main pool area. The room was fantastic – spacious, modern, and impeccably finished. It featured a large bed (a little hard for our taste), a separate dressing table area, and a small seating area with a table and chairs. The bathroom was equally modern, with a large walk-in wet room and a generous sink area. It's worth noting there wasn't a specific shaver/toothbrush socket, but a normal electrical socket was available. Open the patio doors, to a small patio with table chair and two loungers beside the sparkling outside private pool. ​As we were celebrating our anniversary, we mentioned it to the hotel. We were so touched when they sent a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and a beautiful fruit platter to our room. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture that made our celebration feel even more special. ​Food-wise, we were on a half-board basis and primarily ate at the main buffet restaurant, Basilico. The quality was excellent, with a vast selection of hot and cold dishes that were always fresh and tasty. While some dishes were varied daily, we did find the overall selection a little repetitive after a few days. A small suggestion would be to add signs with recommendations on how to combine different items to create authentic Cretan or Greek meals, which would have been a great touch. We also dined at Al Fresco, the Italian-themed restaurant, one evening. It isn't included in the half-board package but a discount is offered. The views over the pool, which is stunningly lit up at night, were beautiful. We both chose pizzas which were delicious, and we felt the supplemental cost was very reasonable. ​Despite its size, the hotel never felt crowded. It’s spread over a large area with plenty of different spaces for guests to relax, whether by the main pool, the seaside pool, or in the comfort of their own private pools. There's even a sister complex across the road that guests can use, so you could easily have a different experience each day. We also noticed a small outdoor cinema area showing family-friendly movies on alternate nights. It wasn't heavily used but was another unique and thoughtful amenity. Evening entertainment was relaxed, usually consisting of a pianist at the bar or a DJ by the pool, both typically finishing by 10 pm. ​On our very last day, we stumbled upon the Spa Complex and wished we had found it sooner! It was incredible and would rival any top spa in the UK, complete with an indoor pool, relaxation rooms, an ice room, sauna and steam rooms, massage jets, and jacuzzis. While we didn't book any treatments, access to these facilities was a fantastic discovery and a perfect way to end our trip. ​Overall, our stay at the Avra Imperial was wonderful. It’s a modern, well-finished hotel with good food and exceptionally friendly staff. We would love to go back and would recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing and stylish getaway.

We have stayed with the family at Avra Imperial in May/June. It's a brand new facility: very nice building. Super clean: both communal areas and rooms were immaculate. Big swimming pools. The main pool with a bar at the center. Overall good service: excellent concierge advices and also the luggage handlers were super helpful. Front Desk could improve the sense of urgency. The are 3 restaurants: 1 Mediterranean 1 Italian and 1 Asian a la carte plus normal buffet for full board. Full boards are allowed to free 3 meals per week a la carte. Overall food was good with a combo of traditional and continental. However lunch seemed much lighter Good spa facilities as well: kids are allowed in the internal pool 10 to 12. We didn't like the sea side: Kolimbari doesn't offer the best beach in Crete. However inside the Hotel you can rent cars from a super nice gentleman and drive to different beaches. We drove to Elafonisi, Falassarna, Platnias and Agia Marina with Falassarna being the best at 35 min drive.

Far below 5-star standards – very disappointing stay. Check-in was unhelpful: arriving late with a child, nothing was offered to eat and no information given about the hotel. Staff communication was chaotic, with requests ignored and no one taking responsibility. The room was dated, cheaply furnished, and nothing like the online photos. Facilities were poor (an old kettle that gave off a burnt smell and left residue in drinks, no daily bottled water, and only the bare minimum of toiletries). Housekeeping was inconsistent and not thorough. Service was unfriendly and unwelcoming throughout our 9-night stay. Staff rarely greeted us, there was no poolside service, and overall we felt more like a burden than valued guests. Food was another disappointment: half-board guests are limited to the buffet, while other restaurants come at extra cost despite very high rates. Overall: this hotel fails on service, comfort, cleanliness, and dining. Absolutely not what you expect from a 5-star property.

This hotel is getting 5 stars primarily because of the amazing staff. Extremely attentive and helpful without ever seeking either over-baring or forced. They were super friendly and kind at all times. The gardening and pool areas are very well maintained and pretty. The rooms were highly stylish and nicely finished. Especially the marble bathrooms. Two small things- we did have a lot of ants in our room although they did come in many times a day to clear them up. They had however upgraded us to a massive house and the ants were in the downstairs which we had no need to utilize to it didn’t present a major problem. Also the aircon didn’t seem to do much but it wasn’t sweltering. Breakfast was high quality and generous and we enjoyed the lunch menu as well. Quite a few nice places to eat near by as well.

We would also love to thank the reception team and the cleaners, who were just as lovely and made everything feel effortless throughout our stay. It was our first time at Caramel but our second stay at a Grecotel, and honestly both experiences have been 5⭐️. It just makes us want to explore even more Grecotel hotels in the future. Caramel was one of the best hotel stays I have ever experienced and I do not take that statement lightly. From the second we walked in the front doors the service was impeccable. The property is lovely and peaceful and the decor is exceptional. Breakfast and dinners were absolutely perfect with countless buffet style items to choose from, all of which tasting great. Pool and beach are wonderful and a delightful place to hangout and chill during the day. Both of which you can order from the pool/beach bar menu (try the Bao it was super good). The rooms were elegant and comfortable and the beach villa we had was more than spacious enough for the whole family. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job. What really made the stay truly amazing was the hospitality and standard of service they employ here, it was a profoundly unforgettable experience. Special thanks to Alexandros for keeping me safe with my nut allergy 🙏🏼. Only one thing I’d note is it could be hard for younger kids to swim on the beach with the combination of waves (on certain days) and rocky landscape. Overall, this place truly embodies 5 star service and checks off all the boxes. I could not recommend somewhere more.

We had a wonderful family stay at Caramel! The food was excellent, the rooms and the whole resort were very clean, and the service was outstanding. Real boutique calm resort. Would like to say thanks to Mr. Oggy for a beautiful complements also all the restaurant team Mr. Alexandros and Mr. Manos. Everything made us feel welcome and comfortable! A few things that could be improved: the beach is rocky with big waves, so it’s not easy to enjoy swimming, and the sunbeds at the beach look quite old – it’s really time to replace them. Also, while the food was delicious, the interior design of the dining and breakfast inside restaurant could use some updating. Overall, though, we truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly recommend Caramel!

Having quite severe mobility issues, and although the hotel is not really wheelchair friendly, it was truly unforgettable due to the exceptional service and hospitality provided to me by the entire team. You always went above and beyond, making sure I was okay and having a good time, always making the time to stop by for a chat, and always making sure to make me feel included in all the activities. A pretty good place for a family vacation in Greece. The rooms are spacious and clean; I had a two-room cottage, not the hotel section. Daily cleaning was very efficient. The food was extensive and, above all, delicious. Pancakes are available by the pool, as well as other buffet dishes, including delicious pita bread. The hotel's location right by the sea adds to its charm and allows for a morning jog in excellent conditions. The outdoor gym is a bit worn out, but you can still get in a workout in the morning. The service was very friendly and efficient. The only thing you can smile about is getting on the balcony for a meal. A big plus is the entertainment team; they were great with both children and adults. The pools are also good, especially for children, and even in August, they weren't crowded at all. There's a waterslide for fun. The only drawback is the constant toleration of sunbeds being occupied the day before; this kind of attitude is a real plague.

– Both Constructive Criticism and Constructive Criticism: 1. The room can only be opened from the inside using a key – there is no handle. Electricity in the room is activated only when the key is placed in the slot near the door. From a safety perspective, in case of an emergency exit, one must first cut the electricity, then fumble in the dark to insert the key into the slot, and only then open the door. 2. We received only one key for a room of three people, since the hotel did not have an additional key available. 3. One morning, it was impossible to get drinking water or coffee. All the coffee machines were out of service, and no drinking water was available—even bottled mineral water was not provided at the bar. 4. Throughout our five-day stay, there was no hot water in the shower. We had to shower with cold water, which was very uncomfortable. 5. To receive pool towels, guests are required to deposit €10 per towel at the lobby. The towels provided were old, worn out, and even torn. 6. In the dining hall, we were four people wanting to sit together. It was not possible to add a chair to any table, and when we asked for assistance, the staff shouted at us. The treatment was unpleasant and aggressive. 7. Communication with the staff was difficult—every request was met with refusal or lack of understanding. 8. Regarding the specialty restaurants: one must choose the main dish in the morning by 2 p.m., which feels very restrictive. 9. The housekeeping staff was observed wiping dirty tea cups with a towel and placing them back in the room, instead of properly washing or replacing them. Positive Notes: 1. The pool is enjoyable and inviting. 2. Easy and pleasant access to the beach. 3. The food in the main dining hall is tasty. 4. The air conditioning in the rooms is strong and comfortable. However, the AC unit is located on the balcony, causing the floor there to constantly be wet from dripping water.

The hotel is quite old and it would need a reconstruction. It is particulalry noticable in bathrooms, which are almost falling apart. Food is good for most of the time, one day it was tasteless, maybe depends on the cook. Be aware that water from the machine tastes weird. Staff is friendly, we had no problem. To my surprise cleaning lady spoke english. Also, english is spoken everywhere, except french animators. Beach is rocky, water is shallow but I wouldn't say it's suitable for children. Public area around the hotel is not particularly nice. Don't take train ride, absolutely not worth the money. It is tour de hotel instead of visiting places. Very annoying and expensive. TL;DR - this hotel if fine if you get it for a good price, but don't expect anything near 5*

We have travelled extensively around the world and stayed in many hotels of different standards, but in our opinion this was the most disappointing experience we have had — and it certainly did not meet what we would reasonably expect from a hotel advertised as 5 stars. Before arrival, we phoned the hotel to ask about the possibility of early check-in. We were told that we could only request this upon arrival. When we arrived at around 4:00 AM, we were not given a room until 11:00 AM and, as a result, we had to rest on the sofas in the lobby. From our perspective, this did not reflect the service level of a 5-star property. During the stay, we personally experienced several issues: The food, in our view, was tasteless and offered very little variety. At breakfast, we even found eggshells in one of the meals. The towels we received were ripped, and the bathroom fixtures appeared heavily marked with limescale. The television in our room was not working. A staff member attempted to repair it but was unable to resolve the issue. When I tried to take a small plate of sweets to the room, I was stopped by a waiter in a way that I personally found rude. In general, we felt that the staff did not show much care for guests. One staff member even told us that management was aware of these issues but did not act on them. At the end of our stay, we requested a late check-out because our flight was at 23:00. We waited several hours for an answer and were eventually refused. The only option suggested was to use the toilets to change before the flight, which, in our opinion, did not respect basic comfort and dignity. Overall, based on our experience, this hotel did not meet the standards we associate with a 5-star establishment, and for these reasons, we would not recommend it to other travellers.

Very good hotel. We are currently resting here. Everything is 5+. With children, the best vacation is only here. Food is at the highest level, many thanks to the chef, who cares about his guests and wants everyone to be satisfied. The staff is very friendly, the girls clean at the highest level. I liked everything, I recommend it to everyone!

Nice 4 star resort (on some websites it appears as 5 star for some reason). They have three pools and and two small adjacent kinds pools and are located by the sea-side. A nice sandy beach is reachable with a free shuttle from the hotel. They have a free kids club for over 4 and payable one for under 4. They also offer babysitting services. The buffet is good with always something to choose from despite the fact that some dishes are not so well done. Very nice and friendly staff and very clean. You can book trips around Crete from the reception with the company Cretan Odyssey. They are generally quite well organised and worth it.

We went in June and it was absolutely amazing. The hotel was beautiful, the food was good in variety and the staff was always friendly. It is located near a small town with nice small restaurants, local shops and a nightclub ;)

We loved our stay at Vasia. The service from checking in through to checking out has been excellent. We enjoyed using the pools, gym and spa facilities. The breakfasts were amazing. There was so much choice for everyone. The dinners were also great, I especially enjoyed the salad bar and the freshly prepared main courses. The service at both meals was friendly and helpful. We had a family room with its own balcony, which allowed us to relax outdoors when it wasn't quite poolside weather.

We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this hotel. The beach was absolutely perfect—calm, relaxing, and picturesque, with soft sand in and out of the water. It was great for both kids and adults, and access to boating activities could not have been easier. Truly the highlight of our trip. The breakfast was excellent, both in quality and presentation, with beautiful views to start the day. The rooms were very spacious, with fantastic bathrooms, strong air conditioning, and lovely views. Housekeeping was outstanding, and the front desk team was excellent—attentive, professional, and warm, embodying authentic Greek hospitality. A few areas could be improved... Lunch service from the beach chairs wasn’t up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel—the menu was limited, food and smoothies were not great, and alcohol options were lacking. The gym facilities felt outdated for a property of this caliber, and a dedicated cocktail bar closer to the Peninsula side of the property would really elevate the atmosphere (during day and happy hour). Overall, this is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location with many standout qualities. We left feeling relaxed and with great memories, and would definitely recommend for family vacation spot.

We stayed at Elounda Peninsula in October as a family of three in room 3159, which had a private pool and split level. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised because the room was much better in person than in the photos on the hotel’s website. The photos were quite limited, so we didn’t know exactly what to expect, but the space and layout were far beyond what we imagined. We arrived late, and the staff were kind, patient, and incredibly accommodating. The room looked recently renovated and was spotless. Everything felt fresh and well cared for. The hotel itself is stunning. The private beaches are probably the best on the island, with soft sand and wave breakers that keep the water calm and peaceful. It made for the most relaxing days by the sea. The view from our room was amazing too, and waking up to the sound of the water was unforgettable. Breakfast was a highlight every morning. The team there deserves a special mention. They were warm, attentive, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Even though breakfast is full table service, they were happy to make adjustments and always did so with a smile. It really stood out how every staff member was willing to help, not just the one assigned to our table. They were also so lovely to our son, which made mornings even better. The resort is very family friendly. The children’s pool is gently heated and perfect for little ones, and there was plenty to do around the grounds. We didn’t end up using the creche much because we were happy just spending time together on site. We also took the pontoon to one of the sister properties and had a great meal at the Old Mill restaurant. It was delicious and worth the short trip. This feels like a bit of a hidden gem because it didn’t come up high in our search results, yet the quality was way higher than the Domes, where we also stayed. In truth, the location, the quality of the private beaches, and the overall experience make it a far better choice for families. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The setting, service, and attention to detail made it one of the best hotels we’ve ever visited. We’d love to come back.

Just had a five day stay - truly magical. Hotel is on a secluded cove with private beach, sea view rooms and very short drive to Agios Nikolaos or Elounda towns. It is Greek owned so not a big nameless chain, yet very luxurious with a six senses spa. The staff are friendly and attentive, they helped us celebrate a very special moment with all these sweet touches, and there are numerous food options, all delicious. Can’t wait to return!

Top-notch hotel. Breakfast restaurant cleverly situated to be out of the wind but have a fantastic sunrise view. Rooms excellent. Pools are luxurious but all salt water so doesn't feel so impactful on the environment. Really nice to float tbh!

We had an amazing stay at Elounda Peninsula this past week! The hotel is in a really gorgeous area that feels set up like a small village. The rooms are so spacious and it had a fantastic view of the water. There's a ton of activities to do both at the hotel and nearby, and so many options for dining (we loved Sumosan, Old Mill, and Greek Opa night). Even the room service was consistently very good. Most impressive of all is the service of the staff, they are really wonderful and hospitable and made our stay special and took care of all of our needs. If I was to note one thing- this hotel is very very very family friendly (which is great) but as a young couple without kids traveling we felt like it is maybe more geared towards that. However, there's still a ton to do as a couple and quiet spaces you can find by the beach, and the restaurants at night did not feel full of kids. I just want to point out that it is mostly families at the hotel- and we can see why because they have so many activities to keep everyone entertained. We would love to go back to this hotel in the future and we miss it already!

Our stay at this hotel exceeded all expectations! From the very first moment, we were warmly welcomed at the reception, given all the necessary information, and helped with check-in. The room was clean, tidy, and cozy, with regular housekeeping. A special mention goes to the restaurant service – the staff was attentive, friendly, and the food was both delicious and varied. We were pleasantly surprised that they even packed breakfast for us when we had an early departure. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was truly top-notch.

Best Hotel ever!!! Just returned from one amazing week at Knossos Royal 5* with my girlfriend. We had a really good time there from the moment we arrived at all the departments. The entertainment at night is great and there are plenty things to do. The food was really tasteful and our room was comfortable, clean and had an amazing sea view.
