Like others have said, there are two separate buildings at this property, being the main hotel which is fine, and the 'west wing' which is an old motel.
The staff will tell you that "all rooms are of the same standard", which is a lie as the old motel building is vastly inferior to staying in the hotel proper.
If you're allocated a room in the main building it's pleasant and good value for money. I wouldn't recommend staying here though unless you confirm before hand that your room is going to be in the main building.

The rooms were okay, clean and well kept. The staff we interacted with was nice. The location was great, we walked to get ice cream after checking in. And it’s a short drive to Universal. I would stay here again.

If you’re looking for a budget friendly hotel close to all that Orlando has to offer than this is it. It has a great pool and many food and snack friendly options without leaving the property. However, keep in mind there are 2 hotels on the same property - they don’t tell you this when you book. One is the beautiful building they show in pictures, the other is the roach motel - where we were placed. No elevator with a child and luggage. Cut off from society. First night checking in the room was flooded, wet carpet and smelled of mold. When notifying the desk I was told there were no rooms available and we had to stay there until the next day. We only booked 3 days. Given another room the next day the tub overflowed. Then the toilet backed up. One thing after another. Exhausting stay. Glad it wasn’t a 2 week trip.

This hotel was sweet! Can't get any closer to Universal. Universal aside, the location of this hotel is actually close to just about everything! Room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the pool and Volcano Bay. Parking is a breeze and the 24 hour convenience store is very appreciated. The only complaint I have to give is that only 3 floors have ONE washer and ONE drier each. Unless you do your laundry at 7AM, good luck trying to do your laundry as those machines are always going to be used. Hotel needs a dedicated laundromat with multiple washers and driers.

I'm shocked by this hotel....in a good way.
Judging a book by its cover, you would think this hotel is very old and rundown. Nothing screams luxury just by looking at it. However, the rooms are actually nicer than expected. The beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious, and there's a fridge and microwave. The sink is outside the bathroom which is helpful in case you wanted to wash your hands while someone is showering.
Free parking and no hotel resort fees. Just a $50 hold when you check which is returned upon checkout. Breakfast isn't free but offered at ~$14 per person.
They also offer free shuttles to Universal Studios.
Based on the nightly rate, this hotel is really great for the value.
I would stay here again the next time I'm in Orlando.
