We booked a higher category suite with a hot tub so the room was certainly large and had a lot of space. The hotel and grounds were well maintained and service was overall good. Rooms had nice amenities, decent design and housekeeping was ok. Hotel has a really nice pool, but we came here to spend days on the public side of Elia beach to be honest. Breakfast offering was great and well maintained. If you want to go to town, there is a great shuttle bus service that actually makes up for paying a taxi and takes very similar town so you can go downtown without a hassle as if you have been to Mykonos, you know that getting anywhere in a taxi is always a hassle. Breakfast service could have been more attentive, but otherwise we would love to come back next Year.

This is a nice facility, but the staff falls completely short of expectations a reasonable person would expect at a luxury hotel. We stayed 5 nights in May 2023. Front desk staff was woefully inept. Nearly every request was met with confusion. The pool bar manager was terrible (screwed up multiple orders). Room service was slow. At breakfast (which was otherwise nice), it took an exceptionally long time to get a cup of coffee brought to the table every day. Facility-wise, my only complaints are the hot-tubs were not filled and while there is a microwave and two burner electric stove-top in the room, there is no refrigerator other than the mini-bar fridge which you cannot empty and use, unless you want to pay for all the over-priced stuff inside (we asked for the items to be removed and the front-desk said it would be, but they never did -- after three requests, I gave up. The hotel has a limited bus to town which no one told us about at check-in, but like most things at this hotel, there was a lot of waiting and confusion about the busses with staff (this should be something that operates like clock-work, but did not at Avaton). Overall, our stay was nice, but the staff at this hotel needs a lot of training and retraining, as even simple stuff was completed inefficiently and slowly. Management should be embarrassed. Waitress Anna-Maria G. was one of the few employees who stood out with great service.

This hotel is beyond amazing. The check in experience is peaceful and relaxing. The daily breakfast is over the top. The pool attendants are constantly looking for ways to make you happy and help. They give you free facials and fruit and juice poolside throughout the day. Mr. Martin the GM has assembled a staff of the most friendly, guest focused people I’ve ever seen. My wife, son and myself felt like we were family while we were there with little individually tailored touches throughout our stay that made us feel at home. We stay at the Ritz, Four Seasons and our many other high end hotels and the service exceeded even those. We want to come back for two weeks next trip. Thank you to Anna Marie, our waitress many days, as well for a wonderful experience.

Overall a great hotel. The staff were courteous and always look looking to serve. The hostess (Maya) in the restaurant was so sweet and loving towards my daughter which made her experience great. The waiter were very friendly towards my family. Overall my daughter said Mykonos was her best part of our Greece visit. If we come back we will stay here again.
Pros:
- Great room
- Customer service
- Private Beach with food service
- Great pool
- Amazing breakfast
- Free shuttle service to town
Cons
- Bathroom design meant for couple. See through glass design does t really work well when you have children
- Free shuttle service to town has limited time schedule which is not very convenient especially when going in the morning or coming back in the evening
- Beach menu not vegetarian friendly. Only one salad option

Overall a nice stay here but Avaton has its pros and cons.
Pros:
-Incredible, breathtaking views!! Exceptional! Not a bad view
from any room
-Beautiful private beach section for Myconian guests
-Free transportation to and from the beach to the hotel (I believe also complimentary transportation to Mykonos town is available)
-Large pools and pool area
-Modern decor
-Excellent breakfast
-Crib was provided for my child, and a good amount of families staying on the property
-Wonderful spa, nice treatment selection and kind spa staff
-Pleasant, hardworking staff in general
Cons
-The area where the hotel is located is very isolated, no markets or pharmacy nearby and the hotel is so high up that you can’t easily just walk off property
-The property is like a maze and can take some adjusting to navigate
-Very difficult to arrange a taxi or transportation outside of the hotel
-Dinner service does not start until 8PM
-Rooms are quite dark
-Bathrooms have see-through doors and mirrors into the main living space, hard to explain but essentially you can see someone’s every move in the bathroom from the bedroom
-Slippery floors- sounds strange but three individuals we knew fell during our stay in the hallways including my daughter. Be careful on the pathways and stairs, the material of the floors is extremely slippery and dangerous.
My final note is about the rooms- we booked two rooms, a pure sea view and a grand temptation suite, the latter being significantly more $ per night. I could not tell the difference between these two rooms, and the front desk said that the grand temptation was more square feet. Well the pure sea view had a larger balcony and separate shower and tub (our shower/tub was combined in our suite). Overall, I don’t think paying for an upgraded room is worth it. While the staff was lovely, I believe it was one of the managers of the hotel I spoke to, he gave me quite an attitude when I inquired about the difference between the two rooms which I did not care for. That is my opinion of how he conducted himself towards me, and when I asked about the falls that took place during our stay he appeared like he couldn’t be bothered.
I’m not sure if I would stay here again, the views were amazing but maybe another Myconian hotel on the cliff if you want to stay in this area. Though I would suggest staying somewhere more centrally located.
