Hotel is clean, but I'd say showing it's age. Food is ok, there was always something to eat for every taste, but was a bit bland. Buffet restaurant needs redesigned as counters too close together and can get very busy with everybody going everywhere all at once, or at least put one way system in place. I'd say 3star at most not 4star. Lots of hills and steps to get to/from rooms , so be aware.

So let me start by saying when we read all the other reviews we thought it was for people who expected this to be like a 5* hotel for a cheap price and were just straight up hard to please. So we didn’t really take much notice to them. We were due to stay for 10 nights and we ended up on day 2 relocating to Belvedere resort for an additional €574 which was the best thing we ever did. I truly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
Anyway let me break down our stay at mediterraneo.
First off we arrived at midnight after a long flight. the man behind reception was absolutely miserable. We didn’t get welcomed and felt like he just hated his job. He snapped at me for not understanding his poor english when he was trying to explain about the safe which totally shocked us upon our arrival.
After we received our key and paid the €70 tourist tax he told us to head to the restaurant and wait there until someone gets us. We were there for 20 minutes and wanted to get to our room as we had a 4 year old and a baby.
I went to look for a member of staff and found my way into the kitchen and it was absolutely filthy. Food left out on the side with flies near the prepping area and black disgusting stains everywhere. Dirty pans, plates cooking tools all coated in filth. The manager saw me leave the kitchen and shouted at me for being there like he didn’t want me to see the state of the kitchen. If this kitchen was in the uk it would have been closed down. We were totally put of the food from then on.
The venue doesn’t offer any sort of children entertainment like advertised on the website so don’t bring your kids. Overall the atmosphere was busy but dull.
The area in which you collect food is far too busy for how small the area is and just feels claustrophobic. They need to implement a 1 way system to improve this.
90% of staff members were miserable and didn’t want to be there. The spa lady who runs her business within the hotel was the first person to actually welcome us the day after our arrival. Her prices I believe start from €45
The quality of the drinks were appalling. horrible cheap cola with no decent range of anything else. and served in the tiniest plastic cups which mean you have 2 sips and you have to get up for another. If you’re coming to drink alcohol you won’t get anything other than bottom shelf vodka. No cocktails etc unless you pay.
On top of that I was refused a drink from the bar as he believed I couldn’t manage a 3rd drink in my hands. In which he just kept ignoring me. I had to ask 3 times in which he repeated his response and reluctantly made me the 3rd drink. For an all inclusive holiday you should never be refused something you pay for.
The food is poorly made and is not appealing at all. (overcooked or undercooked) so we wasn’t eating properly. The whole fruits look and feel out of date. Breads are stale etc. overall just disgusting.
The rooms are basic but borderline clean with nice views from the balcony. However the rooms are in need of refurbishment, as there’s cracks everywhere in the walls. Chips in the toilet seats and shower. Stains in the walls + floors. All caused from age.
I’m not sure how this hotel gets good reviews, they almost feel fake. I recommend you pay the extra few hundred euros and you will get somewhere so much nicer within the area.
The only thing nice about the hotel is the way out.
(Ps I can confirm the lifeguard spends more time talking to women, than ensuring the safety of the people in the pool)

This is a very busy hotel and we are here at the end of April. Although rates as 4 star in the UK it would be a 2.5 star but you get what you pay for, AI is fine food and drinks all good on our last night we ate at a local restaurant and the food was the same quality for 184 euros a family of 7
Good points
If you arrive before 11 pm, food is left ready for you
Views of the sea from your room
Lively atmosphere in the evening
Pools salt water but good
Short walk to the beach - star beach free complex, which has a great nice sandy beach
Bad points
Room are in need of updating, feels like last done in the early 2000s, and has been repainted ever since
Bed linen is clean but shower height for people under 5ft 10
Air con could be quite noisy, but only had it on once
Queues to get drink at the bar
Often, no loo roll in reception toilets.
Would l come back. It's good value for money on a package, so yes.

This will be the most honest reveiw you see - let me start by saying me and my partner (24 and 30) are simple people from Yorkshire UK with no children . We do not need a lot to be happy . In our opinion this hotel is not a 4 star more like a 3, which doesn’t mean it’s a bad hotel but not what it says on the tin kind of thing . We did have a lovley time on holiday , we stayed for 10 nights all inclusive. The food is edible but not amazing so we did eat out a lot , there is a amazing cafe 5 minutes away on foot called “AVRA Creating Feelings” I would recommend that if you get fed up of the food .
The hotel staff was very friendly , I have seen some reveiw that suggested other wise however you need to think , how did that guest act towards the staff? As we have seen the restaurant manager shout at children yes , BUT it was well justified , when the parents are treating the staff like babysitters and leaving their children unattended to cause issues . One boy was touching food and putting it back and hitting machines in the little arcade so this was justified.
Honestly do not believe all the Karen’s . If you do not have your nose in the air and you are looking for a nice break away it’s honestly fine .
The rooms are very basic , not the most modern and not shiny clean but clean enough not “dirty”. The rooms are quite far away from reception depending on where you get put so if you have mobility issues let them know prior so you get a room with no stairs, as we had to climb 4 flights to get to our room ( we are young so didn’t matter to us).
The veiw from our room was beautiful!
If you turn left out of the hotel and walk 15 mins you will get to all the shops
We was caught off guard and completely unaware of the tourist tax for the hotel, which is around about €7 per day, we got told this unexpected when we arrived. So we were €70 down before the holiday started, but if we were made aware of it, it wouldn’t be too bad.
All the local people were so lovely, I would definitely recommend the area if you are staying at the this hotel make sure you try the local aquarium we visited, and absolutely loved it.
If you find yourself too tired to walk the wallk back to the hotel, there is many taxis that will charge you about €8 to get back which we didn’t seem too bad.
I will mention the “all-inclusive” is not technically all inclusive, as the drinks only include tea , cofffee , pop, local beers, wines, vodkas, rums, and gins it doesn’t include any special drinks like ice coffees and cocktails. These are quite pricey in my opinion. This is the first time we’ve ever done all inclusive so we was unaware that this was the thing I was really looking forward to cocktails but I was not paying the prices.
However, on the back of that, I will also say they have a snack bar that is open from 11 am to 5 pm where you can constantly get things like chips and pizza if you are hungry and lunch is not on and it is by the side of the pool which is very convenient.
There is also an on-site shop which is extremely overpriced, but if you need something and do not want to walk to the shop it is there. There is a spa shop around about 5 to 10 minute walk away which is a lot cheaper.
Definitely do not pay to rent any towels for the pool !
If you keep walking after the spa, there is a lovely market that does them between five and €6 and you of course get to keep the towel and not just rent it for €10.
They have two quite large pools they are both salt water one quite deep and one not so deep so maybe better to take the kids. All in all if you are Going with the expectation of a glamorous hotel, this is not for you. however, if you’re very basic and I wanted a cheap and cheerful holiday. This is definitely for you. We do not regret our stay . I realise this review is probably the longest one you’ve ever seen, but I would’ve appreciated this before we came and I hope it helps people make their decision again I need to stress. We had a lovely holiday and I wouldn’t object to come in here again.

WORST HOTEL EVER. Don't trust the pictures and just overall don't come. We we're definetely in chok about how terrible this hotel was. Our room was not clean at all, dead mosqitues on the wall, blood on the wall, insects in the bathroom, spiders in every corner. We changes hotel the first night because we could not even sleep there... There were also overcrowded and only people who wanted to hear high music and drink wine from plastic glasses. You get the vibe.. And the area was terrible.. nothing around the hotel and if you walked for a while there were just parties everywhere. Just dont go
