Upon arrival and throughout the first few days of our holiday this hotel seemed great. The room was spacious and exactly as shown on the online images.
To start off, the outside tables near the sunloungers were dirty and filled with stains as well as the floor of the hotel rooms not being cleaned. The room we were provided had 2 single beds and we had noticed that one of them were a little faulty as it wasn’t stable on the floor due to the legs of the bed. No issues, we just put up with this.
The night before we were due to come home, the “good” bed that we had in the room had broken after one of us sat on the end of it. We went down to the reception and told the male receptionist on duty (his name either Emilio or Ciro) that one of the legs on the bed had broken and that when we had lifted the bed onto its side, 2 of the other legs were missing. We then thought to check the first bed that we noticed was faulty and this had 6 legs.
He noted down our room number and said that there were no technicians available until the morning. He never offered a room change, due to use being told since, this is what would have happened. That night we slept on the floor as we had no other options. On the day of checkout, we checked out and the €100 deposit they had held was returned to us.
Since then, we have logged a formal complaint with this hotel and Love Holidays in which they have responded to say, they weren’t aware there was an issue with the bed as we never reported the broken bed and if we had, then an alternative room would have been provided. They stated that we also didn’t make them aware of the situation upon checkout. Why would we do this, when we had already notified them the night before?
They then added to their story that the maid had gone to clean the room on the day of our checkout and noticed WE had broken the bed for the second time. First they were unaware the bed was broken and the next minute they say the maid had noticed it had been broken twice. If this was the case, then why did they refund our deposit. Seems to me they knew the bed was faulty before our stay and didn’t care. The location of this hotel is in a perfect spot, very close to the seafront however the lack of customer service and compassion has let it down massively. Please avoid this hotel at ALL costs. I have attached the communication with the hotel below as well as the image of the broken bed.

Where to start. Firstly this hotel is not 4star, we have travelled extensively and this hotel is barely two star. On a positive, the rooms are spacious but with very little furniture, the hotel is very clean generally and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. That said, there is virtually no lobby as you would expect in a 4 star hotel. There is no gym and just one pool table which is the sum total of the entertainment on offer. The pool is very clean and with a minimum of chemicals in it to make swimming pleasant, but the grounds are very limited in size. The hotel is on a motorway which means if you have your bedroom window open at night the traffic noise is constant till about 1 am. The breakfast is good with a good choice although served cold. There is a microwave available to heat up your full English ( no fried tomatoes or mushrooms). The evening meal is virtually beyond description with ham and cheese sandwiches a regular offering. The selection is repetitive, thoughtless and limited. Examples are a lettuce leaf with sliced garlic on it, mechanically reformed beef slices which you can push your finger through, daily soup which is the same watery consistency, colour and flavour every day (with a different daily name), small square slices of fish with a topping and much more I can’t be bothered to name. For pudding if you like plain jelly, angel delight and tinned fruit with very small squares of cheap cake you will be in heaven. No fresh fruit was on offer ( bananas, apples etc) although occasionally there was pealed oranges ( so you can’t take them to your room to eat later) and sliced kiwi. My advice therefore is to go B and B and eat out at the many restaurants on the sea front which would be cheaper too. My main complaint apart from the above is that this is NOT a four star hotel. We looked at several real four star hotels in the area and they were a totally different class. I hope this review proves useful to you.

We have just come back from a week's holiday at this hotel. Rooms are spacious, shower was good. Cleaners were fantastic, they did a really good job, cannot fault them at all. I cannot comment on the food, as we never eat there. There is so much choice along the beach and also down some of the back streets around old Los boliches, that we usually ate out. Hotel is in a fantastic location, cross the main road (crossing very close to hotel), cut through the walkway and you are next too the beach. It literally took us less than 5 minutes to get too the beach. This hotel is in such a great location, train station close by. All in all this hotel suited us down too the ground. Do not read the negative comments of other reviews, a holiday is really what you make it. Thank you hotel mainare playa.

Good sized rooms and very clean but strangely very little furniture in them, a couch or table and chairs would have made it a lovely room, the beds however were just awful, I've slept on comfier floors!! Nice sized balcony that caught the evening sun.
Location wise it's a couple of minutes to the beachfront so pretty good. It is, however, separated from the front by a busy main road that can get noisy.
There never seemed to be anyone on the bar, the reception staff never nipped over to serve, for some reason someone from the restaurant at the other end of the building had to trek over to serve us. Most of the time that was Alicia who was just lovely and super friendly, more than can be said for the miserable front desk staff.
It's overall OK but I wouldn't rush back.
