Pros
The apartment is massive.
Plenty room for 6 people.
Parking directly outside
2 bathrooms.
Has a dish washer and washing machine.
Plenty pots and pans, good usable kitchen
Cons
Old and needs an update.
Several buildings to the complex.
Pool closed till June.
No entertainment between October and June.
Nothing to clean the apartment.
You need to buy everything even toilet roll.
Staff are terrible, not friendly or helpful at all.
Location is terrible.
Sinks blocked.
Building works taking place, mud everywhere.
long walk down to the old town..
It's up a steep hill if you have mobility issues you will need a taxi from the old town. Pavement is uneven.
Overall I would not return to here. Over priced rubbish.
Tiny bathrooms.
More suited to stag and hen parties. Not family stays.

The Cerro Mar Garden complex location was excellent. Lovely pool, restaurant, bar, reception. The apartment while somewhat dated was spacious with large balcony facing the pool and ocean. Kitchen had full size fridge, stove, dishwasher, wash machine, kettle, dishes, pots and pans, etc. Living room has couch with pull out bed. Beds and bedding not great compared to the many other hotels we stayed, and pillows lumpy. Staff in all areas were courteous but didn't go out of their way.
This hotel has several complexes and what they need to do better is to declare what each complex offers. We booked the Cerro Mar Atlantico. It turned out to be an annex type of building that was three streets away from the main building. It was old, poorly equipped, smelled musty and in need of complete renovation. We booked three nights based their web site write up and lovely pictures. When we asked to change to one of the better complexes we were informed that there was nothing availability. Only when we offered to pay to upgrade were we given the new rooms. The hotel should indicate the type of accommodations in each complex on their web site so that are no surprises on arrival. Again, location is fabulous and the Cerro Mar Garden (not Atlantico) is lovely.

We are staying here for 2 months. So happy we chose this place. Service, amenities and cleanliness is great. On top of the hill with great views. There is a shuttle to Old Town, if walking is an issue. If you want lots of action and bars at close proximity, the Old Town is for you. For us away from the hustle and bustle is best for us.

AVOID IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR BELONGINGS.
Had two plastic bags of gifts "disappear " from our apartment. I rang reception twice and was advised they would check with housekeeping. Heard nothing back. Eventually asked to see the manager who promised to call me within 10/15 minutes which never happened. Absolutely disgraceful service which I have never experienced in any hotel. I will be returning next month and will be at the front desk demanding answers.
The walls in the apartments are paper thin, so you can hear everything from the floor above you. We heard taps running, foot steps, and conversations. We were awoken between 6-7am most mornings.

BEWARE WHEN YOU BOOK THIS PLACE! It is a series of buildings, and the apartment we were given is nothing like the photos in the ads. Red plastic couch and chair we would even sit on. When we asked to change buildings, there was a variety of excuses. The building we expected to be in had only a fourth floor spot open, and the elevator didn’t work for the five nights we stayed. Every day the front desk said “check back tomorrow.”
Walking to town was doable for us, as we could manage the more than 100 stairs. Most people can manage the steep walk into town, but would take a taxi back up the very steep hill. There was a shuttle from hotel with a driver who enjoyed scaring occupants by laughing and veering from side to side through traffic. Not impressed.
Would not return.
