Nestled on the picturesque shores of Bel Ombre, Outrigger Mauritius offers breathtaking beach views that promise a serene getaway. The hotel's promotional photos do an excellent job capturing the stunning natural beauty of the location, and the actual scenery does not disappoint. It's a perfect backdrop for a relaxing vacation.
However, while the service is generally acceptable, it falls short of the polished experience provided by other luxury hotels in the area. The staff, though courteous, appears less well-trained, which occasionally impacts the overall quality of service.
As for the accommodations, the rooms have a classic charm but feel outdated, particularly when compared to the modern aesthetics typical of contemporary luxury resorts. The old-fashioned design and decor of the rooms and the hotel itself might appeal to those who appreciate a vintage style but could use an update to meet current luxury standards.
In summary, Outrigger Mauritius boasts stunning views and a promising location but could greatly enhance its appeal with improved service training and a refreshed, modernized design. This hotel is suitable for travelers who prioritize beautiful natural surroundings and are less concerned with the latest interior trends.

At first and reading some reviews we came with a lot of expectations and we were worried to be disappointed… but nothing at all ! It was a wonderful stay !! Everything was perfect. The resort is so beautiful and quiet, well maintained. Okay rooms are a bit old but they are clean, beautiful, spacious, and the service is high quality.
We cannot recommend more this place !!
The Mercado buffet was great!
The serenity pool is a gem for people who want to enjoy the swimming pool in a quiet area.
The only bad aspect is the Bleu Bar : okay the place is really cool but the service is really too long. They sometimes wait for the end of the happy hour to get your order.
But otherwise we love every single moment and place of this hotel !

A remote resort hotel with a lot of amenities. The family rooms are great with bunk beds. With three pools, you never have to wait for a lounge chair, or you can take plenty of the ones located on the beach. Edgewater is the better restaurant but reservations can be hard to get at times. The service by the porter was top notch with arranging activities. Highly recommend a family vacation here.

All of the staff were super helpful, accommodating and very friendly, making the stay much better than it would’ve been otherwise. The resort itself is pretty rundown. We had termites and ants everywhere in our room and there was a leak in the window causing our room to flood one of the days.
The bar chairs were filthy and the pool chairs were old metal things that needed to be replaced and were a bit of an eye sore on the beach. We opted for paying to stay at neighboring beach clubs that were much nicer. Edgewater cafes food was fine but the restaurant itself was also run down and lacked ambiance. There was trash in the front of the restaurant and they kept all of the kayaks and water equipment right next to the tables which was odd. We spent a day at the Plantation expecting a bit of a nicer experience but again this facility was extremely rundown and not well taken care of.
As mentioned, the staff were awesome and I feel the resort has a lot of potential but it needs a major face lift and deep cleaning.

I stayed 9 nights in April 2024.
Half board restaurant has multiple food options and is generally very good. My GF thought there could be more for children, but our kids are rather fussy so don’t hang too much on that.
Service could improve, with the bar a little slow on service.
Family rooms are great, nice bunks for the kids, excellent bathroom with a huge bath. Aircon is not too bad, rooms very well kept, clean and free water every day.
Reception staff very helpful.
Gym is small but good enough. Has a good rack of dumbbells.
The pool is huge, excellent and nice temperature. Kids loved playing water polo with anyone who joined.
Reef off the beach is very good snorkelling. Water sports are available but I didn’t try them. I did scuba from the hotel next door which you can easily walk around from the beach. The beach itself stretches for miles, and is lovely. You can see a sunset from here with a gathering of people usually taking pictures.
The Plantation club was closed for dinner during our stay due to a huge storm from January. It also took out the Jetty.
Overall recommended.
