You should book a holiday here. It's in a fantastic location between the airport and Albufeira. Great transport links. The scenery is stunning, and the hotel has its own private entrance down to the beach (quite a few steps though).
The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are a really good size and quality for the price.
The food is absolutely gorgeous, with dedicated vegetarian and gluten free areas too. The spa is really high quality as is the indoor pool. The hotel is kept to a really high standard, and the perks for being a prestige member are definitely worth it.
We'll be coming back again!

Portobay Falesia is nicely situated by the sea, offering an amazing view. The breakfast and dinner buffet were very diverse, featuring different kinds of fruits, vegetables, food, cheese, and salads. We typically spent time at the beach, which was only a 7-minute walk from the hotel. Overall, it was a good stay.

My wife and I have just returned (17th) after a 3 day break celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and must say the hotel staff were superb even upgrading us to a pool/sea view which is stunning (room 110). The hotel itself is exceptionally clean throughout and very well maintained. We stayed on a half board basis and the food is excellent with plenty of choice for all. We have stayed in some very nice 5 star hotels and even this one is only stated as a 4 star I would have no hesitation to recommend this as a 5 star. Thoroughly recommend and will most certainly return.

Great hotel & staff, location is ideal for a quiet break. Food is always extremely good. You can do the beach walk to Vilamoura but it can be a slog, the walk across the rocks the opposite direction is always good too.
Hopefully someone else is also taking care of pumpkin the cat who lives at the bottom of the steps to the beach.

Quite expensive hotel but you don’t get a great experience. We stayed here one week in April and due to ongoing renovation works we were woken up by hammering and drilling every morning at 8am, even in the weekend. This was not notified when booking. The bar staff always want to get your room number instead of being paid, presumably to overcharge you after you forget your orders after a long stay (and we had items on our checkout bill that weren’t ours but fortunately could be removed because they could not show us a signed bill). They refused us a late checkout despite the hotel being half empty and us offering to pay an extra fee for late checkout. Much better alternative is the nearby Garden Hotel, it’s cheaper and much nicer and newer. We wish we knew before we booked but went there a lot because they have nicer facilities and no construction noise.
